FRENCH CRULLERS FOR THE WIN! My original review of this long time Oxnard establishment (been here since I was a kid and this strip mall had the Carriage Square Movie Theater!) was 11 years ago! Has anything changed??? Nope! STILL, the best donuts in Oxnard! Located next to IHOP & KFC in the Lowe's Strip Mall, the smell of fresh donuts with a friendly staff to greet you, puts a smile on your face and helps perk up your senses up properly! Often times there is a line in the morning (proof of their popularity), however, it moves quickly. Their donuts are well crafted, but there's not just donuts are on the menu. There's also croissant sammies, bagel sammies, & breakfast burritos if you so choose, but I gotta say, their true specialty is... THE FRENCH CRULLER: THEE BEST CRULLER you will have from coast to coast! I have not yet had something that tops this creation here! Outer shell has nice crispness to it, that is rarely matched by other donutteries, and yet the inner core is oh so pillowy soft!!! Mmmmm! The glaze and/or coatings (pink (strawberry because it's Oxnard?), white, chocolate, maple or glazed) are not excessively sweet. Such a great donut! If I could, I'd eat these every day of my life! Stopped by this morning. Service was great. Unfortunately, I gotta be honest. I ordered a medium coffee and it was watered down. Didn't taste like coffee at all. I was too far to turn back. It seems as though there have been a lot of changes here, not sure if the ownership has changed or just the staff, but the quality has declined significantly at this location. I like that they are open 24 hours and parking is relatively easy (tight separated lot) , but the last couple times I came we had to toss the donuts. The glaze had an overwhelming burnt taste, like they burned the sugar batch and continued to use it for multiple batches, and the donuts were very tough. I've never had a tough donut. They charge $4 for donut holes, and that would be fine if they are actually good but they are very hard and small. The regular sized donuts are a mixed bag, as if they serve fresh made donuts mixed in with yesterday's leftovers. But they all had that burnt glaze so it didn't matter which donut you got, it just tasted burnt. The breakfast burritos are small but overall not bad - they could benefit from using a smaller tortilla instead of having so much excess tortilla on both ends. Service is slow and indifferent. This is my go to for donuts and last time I came I bought a dozen but something seemed off. Like the donuts were fried in burnt or overused oil. I thought it was a one off. Returned months later and once again got the same flavor on some donuts and my wife thought other donuts were old. I'm not sure if I will go back since there's so many donut shops around. read more

Master's Donuts has a great selection of donuts, breakfast bites, and boba/smoothies. My friend and I came here for a quick breakfast bite. I've driven by this spot many times and hadn't even considered coming in but thankfully my friend knew of this gem. The donut selection is the biggest I've seen. They had everything! Glaze, sprinkle, chocolate chip croissants, maple, you name it. There were literally like 4x4 rows of donuts it was insane! Also I was super impressed with how many donuts they had available at 12pm. Usually at my local donut shop if you aren't there by 8am the selection starts to dwindle, but not here. This spot is great for when your craving the midday sweet treat. Also the menu of smoothie and boba items was super big and I loved all of the pretty pictures of the drink options. We skipped out on a boba but I would definitely considering coming back for one as they had a great menu. The service was fine. The gentleman behind the counter was quick to take our order. Nothing stellar about the interaction but he was efficient and I do understand we were probably dilly dallying, so he was trying to move us along. But there was just so much to look at! Lastly the price was a little on the higher side but that wouldn't keep me from coming back. Three donuts, a chocolate chip croissant, and a small milk ran us $10. Not unreasonable but my local donut shops are cheaper. The quality and selection was there though! Our donuts all tasted fresh and were yummy. Starting with the positives, they're open 24 hrs and we've had donuts here years ago where quality was good. This donut shop is just a regular walk up. It was bright inside as well. Not sure if it's due to when you go but when we got some recently late at night, the donuts weren't good at all. They tasted like they were made from batches of old oil and my boyfriend actually got a stomach ache after eating his donut. We got donut holes too and they had that same taste of old oil. Both the glazed and even the cake ones had an odd taste because of that most likely. The lady behind the counter was very apathetic. Wasn't expecting friendly service anyways since it was late but it wasn't a good experience this time around and don't think we'll be back. read more

Who cares about donuts? It's the breakfast burritos you want from here. They are really delicious and packed fat with all kinds of goodness. You don't even have to make the decision about which meat you want: bacon, ham or sausage. They just put all three in there for you. Sure your heart won't thank you, but your tastebuds will. Hearts are overrated anyway. These are big, without being obscene. So you'll be plenty full but not in a burrito coma. MAKE SURE YOU GET your salsa with it! It's flavorful and fresh and adds a lot! They got big coolers with tons of beverages to choose from, plus smoothies, boba and coffee and tea drinks. I love this donut shop (right next to the 7-eleven). Their donuts are always delicious and fresh. You can also order sandwiches and smoothies. I've ordered the ham and cheese croissant before, which was incredibly tasty. Also, I've been to donut places were I see flies and gnats flying around inside the case with the donuts. I've been going here for years and have NEVER seen anything like that. This place is kept clean and tidy, and the donuts always smell incredibly enticing. Plus, you can buy lotto tickets here. I once won 4 out of 5 Fantasty Five numbers and ended up with an extra $400 in my pocket. Hold up, don't rob me yet. That was pre-pandemic and that money is long gone because I bought more (losing) Lotto tickets. Oh well! But it's always been a relatively lucky location for me. I once bought a $1 scratcher from their machine inside and ended up winning an extra $40! Since I'm horrible with math, I reinvested it and ended up with nothing once again, but I got the thrill and the adrenaline rush!!! Everyone who works here is very friendly and patient! It was my first time trying masters donuts and the taste was off for all three donuts I bought. It had like a smoky burnt taste to them and I suspected they were made with burnt oil because the donuts seemed fine on the outside. There's another review I read after I bought these donuts and someone else said they tasted off and mentioned oil too so it's not a one time thing. 7$ to the waste with these donuts because they tasted disgusting, we just threw them away. read more

I'm not from Oxnard, but drove out to catch a comedy act at the Levity Live. I was having a late-night boba craving, but all the boba spots were closed before 10pm on a Saturday. I turned to trusty Yelp and Master's Donuts checked all the boxes. Not only were they open late, but they had an ice blended mocha with boba that was so good and perfectly chewy and I had to try the hot and fresh old fashioneds that have a crunchy, glazed exterior, but still warm and cakey on the inside. SERIOUSLY THE BEST DONUT I EVER HAD! I am lactose intolerant and steer clear of almost all desserts with milk (99% of all desserts if you think about it). I'm on vacation and decided to take a risk and take some lactose pills and hope they worked. Well they did that's the bad news...why? Because I can't imagine not eating these every day now! I had the old fashioned. If you never had one they're different. The dough is higher in gluten and they can be rolled by hand. When fried they crack and that's why they look so different. They're always more dense and filling than a plain donut (which is why I like them) but this one was THE SINGLE BEST OLD FASHIONED DONUT EVER! I had another one from somewhere else the next day seeing if it was this place or the fact I had no donuts in 5 years. Well...the truth is THE DONUTS HERE ARE SO GOOD I CAN'T EXPLAIN but on the way back home I'm stopping here again. Goodbye 32 in waist!! The flavor was very sweet but really filling. I love this place! They have the BEST breakfast burritos around. So yummy and the salsa they give you on the side is bomb. The burrito is pretty big and I usually can't eat it all so it's good for a late afternoon snack as well. It takes a good amount of time to make the burritos-think 15-30 minutes depending on how busy they are- but totally worth the wait! I would have taken a picture but i forgot before eating it all. The donuts here are good, but hit and miss with the quality. Sometimes they can be a little hard/ crunchy. Overall I would give this place a 4.5. 5 for the burritos, 4 for the donuts. My boyfriend and I passed this place coming into town around 3am. It looked open but we weren't sure, so we decided to come back in the morning for breakfast. Come to find out it's open 24-7! The case of donuts was filled when we got there around 11am. Huge, fluffy, delicious looking donuts. We were greeted by a nice man and woman who chatted with us a little and were very friendly. Great service. I ended up going with a sugar donut, a maple bar, and a bagel. Sooooo yummy and so filling. Rob went with a breakfast burrito, which isn't on the overhead menu but on the paper menu! It was HUGE! Filled with cheese, egg, potato, sausage, bacon, and with a side of salsa. They have bagel sandwiches, croissant sandwiches and other yummy creations too. What more can you ask for? They had a large assortment of drinks, which was nice. Not only did they have Nesquick but they had about three other different types of milks and juices and sodas in all sizes and flavor. Usually I have to buy two or three cartons of milk to go with breakfast (I really like milk, okay), but they had a medium sized bottle that was perfect! Plus, they had fresh smoothies and iced coffees. The best part? They had SCRATCHERS! All of my road trips are equipped with scratchers at every gas station we stop at, so this was even better.
