Mrs Georgia is a fantastic spot that brings authentic Georgian cuisine to life in a warm and welcoming setting. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels inviting, lively, and perfect for both casual dinners and group gatherings. The food is outstanding -- rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The khinkali are juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the khachapuri is comforting, cheesy, and fresh out of the oven. Every dish we tried had that true homemade Georgian taste that keeps you coming back for more. Mrs Georgia, what can you say? They were the best new opening in Astoria in 2025, taking over a Greek/Mediterranean bar and cafe in September 2025. We were one of the first groups of customers to visit at the end of the month, and I paid another visit in October with a dining partner. Mrs Georgia specializes in authentic Georgian dishes, including Khinkali: Hand-folded Georgian soup dumplings filled with seasoned meat; Khachapuri, a type of Georgian cheese bread, including the iconic Adjaruli style; and Chakapuri: a traditional lamb stew with herbs. On both occasions, I ordered khinkali, pork kabab, warm borsch (a type of beetroot soup), and shkmeruli made with chicken and garlic. Everything tasted to perfection. The owners of this new restaurant spent time repairing everything, including the ovens and interior. They created a warm, enclosed dining area with plenty of seating, and we loved the fact that everyone was so helpful and friendly. Mrs. Georgia is the best kept secret in New York City! The adjaruli khachapuri and imeruli khachapuri are must trys. They are rich, creamy homemade cheese and the bread is perfectly baked and yeasty. The khinkal are juicy, gigantic soup dumplings that are incredibly savory and delicious--I especially appreciated their vegetarian options. We ordered two plates at first and ended up getting two more because they were so good! The mushroom and cheese are so satisfying for vegetarians and unlike anything you can order elsewhere. Their pumpkin soup is divinely velvety resembling a creamy butternut squash. We also loved their double fried fries and arepa cornbread, which pairs well with salad or soup. Their selection of Georgian wine is also not to be missed! As amazing as the food is the ambiance, it is cozy, clean, and incredibly inviting. We spent hours just leisurely chatting and eating. Even the bathroom was remarkably decorated, with little details like Parisian perfume sprays in the handwashing station. I really appreciate how much thought they put into everything! For a large meal for five, it came out to just over $35 per person, which was a steal for how much food we got. I make the trip to Brighton Beach every time I miss Georgian food, but I'm so excited that Mrs. Georgia has brought the best Georgian food to Astoria, Queens! read more

When I first heard of this new Georgian restaurant opening up in Astoria, Queens, I was beyond happy! Why aren't there more Georgian restaurants in Queens? They all seem to be in Manhattan. I've had some great Georgian cuisine in the Manhattan restaurants, and sadly, Mrs. Georgia doesn't compare. I'm certainly no expert when it comes to Georgian cuisine, but all I can say is that we didn't enjoy the food at Mrs. Georgia as much. But it's still worth it for everyone to try; especially if you've never had Georgian cuisine before. Judge for yourself! These are our menu choices (shared by 4ppl): Mrs. Georgia Salad ($22): arugula, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, walnuts, signature dressing....Excellent! Believe it or not, this was my fave dish of the night lol Khinkali w.Mushrooms ($14/4pcs): These were HUGE and tasty; albeit a tad too salty for me. Khachapuri w.Spinach ($20): Spinach & Cheese filled bread...this was ok but the regular Khachapuri is probably better. This reminded me of a Greek Spinach Pie, sans Phyllis dough & Feta. Family-Style Pork ($20): Roast Pork w.Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, Tomatoes & Cilantro. Good but very mildly seasoned. Bolder flavors would have been better. Chakapuli ($28): Lamb Stew w.Tarragon, Cilantro, Green Onions, White Wine & Plums. This was more like a soup than a stew, and came in a bowl (not meant for sharing). It comes with nothing, so I was advised to order their bread basket to go with this. Bread Basket ($4): two oval rolls. Not sure what kind of bread this was but there was nothing special about it....at all! Note that this is a very small restaurant; not great for large groups. Additional seating in front and in their garden area. Their garden area actually has more seating that the inside of the restaurant. Great for warmer weather. *** Double check your bill before paying! A 3% credit card fee is embedded in each item, and there is no transparency of this charge. If you're paying by cash, make sure to ask them for the cash check without the additional 3% charge. read more

I was here a while back at this, alright, recently opened Georgian spot with a large group (see Andie's review for further details.) They have a reasonably priced wine selection, including some Qveri/amber wine, and I got a white wine (Kisi) for $15, which was reasonable for the price, unlike most of the menu. Service was fine, though there were issues at the end with payment. In general, I found the prices a tad high, even compared to most Manhattan Georgian spots (such as my personal favorite Saperavi and some pretty good spots like Old Tbilisi Garden) and especially the spots deep in Brooklyn, while the spices were a bit lighter and the portions were smaller, so I generally wasn't a fan. We first started with the Mrs. Georgia Salad for $22 with arugula, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, walnuts, and a signature dressing. The salad was pretty large with a lot of arugula and a good amount of cheese on top, along with a good amount of tomatoes, though it was a bit light on walnuts and strawberries. The dressing, which I presume included pomegranate molasses like most Georgian salads, was lightly sweet and went well. This was pricey but pretty good. The best dish was definitely the Khinkali, the Georgian version of soup dumplings, which range from $14 for mushrooms to $16 for the meat options, which came with 4 pieces. We got the mushroom one, and it was quite tasty, being nicely earthy with plenty of black pepper along with tarragon and other spices. There was a lot of soup in there as well. This was very good and a whole lot better than the rest, and I would compare them favorably, unlike most dishes, to the other spots mentioned. Our host, regrettably in hindsight, ordered the Khachapuri With Spinach for $20 instead of the usual Megruli/Imeruli/Adjaruli variant. I much prefer the latter as I find the spinach doesn't really go with the cheese, as it takes away the salty, rich flavor. Outside of this, it was decent due to the size, though the bread could have been cooked a bit longer, as I have had better textures from most other Georgian spots. This was alright, though with the texture of the bread, I don't think the khachapuri would have been as good by comparison to other places. The Chakapuli, or lamb stew with tarragon, cilantro, green onions, white wine, and plums, was $28, which was absurd for the price point and flavor. The flavor was alright with small pieces of tender lamb, while the tarragon flavor was lighter than most, and it also lacked the distinct tartness I associate with this due to the green plums. It's more of a soup and was a bit hard to share. They recommended we order some bread, which was $4 for two pieces of shoti/shotis puri, which was fine, though not as warm as I hoped. This would be decent at best at a more normal price point and not good with this portion size for said price point. The Family-Style Pork with roasted pork, potatoes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and cilantro for $20 wasn't good. Also known as Ojakhuri, this is one of my favorite Georgian dishes, and this was a bad example. While the onions and potatoes were well-cooked, the roasted pork wasn't the most tender, and it was less spiced/flavored than in other places. I wouldn't recommend this at all and especially with the relatively smaller size. We got the check at the end (separately for the wine,) and the price points were all higher than the menu. They apparently auto-add the credit card fee (I believe 3 or 4%) and don't list themselves as doing so, which really isn't OK. It didn't matter much for the wine as it only added a few cents, and I paid with my card, but for the food bill, it did, as we all paid cash. After a good while, they corrected it, but this is an annoyance, and it should be the opposite way, or their billing should show two prices, credit and cash, on the same check. Outside of this, and as someone who's had Georgian food a ton, I wouldn't recommend this place much. The prices are on the higher end, while the food quality was not. Even spots I don't love have better food than here. read more

First time at this restaurant. First time trying authentic Georgian cuisine. The baked bread dishes are so good! I found the mushroom dumplings to be flavorful but on the saltier side. The cheese boat was delicious. The service and atmosphere was nice, they have plenty of seating. Parking in this neighborhood can be tricky. I enjoyed the experience and the cuisine. Lovely new Georgian spot in Astoria. They have a great outdoor dining area in the backyard and a sizeable indoor dining space. The menu is extensive with plenty of options for all kinds of diets. What I loved about these guys is that they had single serve khachapuris and let me just say one of them was ENORMOUS. Had some of my favorite lobio here as well! The khinkali were a bit of a miss for me but they were HUGEEE. I think it they had been a little fried I would've liked them more or if I had opted for a different filling. Great spot! read more

4.5 stars. This new Georgian restaurant had their soft opening today and I was their first customer! This was an unplanned visit after work but I'm so glad I went. 'm not very familiar with Georgian food--probably only tried it a handful of times--so I was excited to explore their menu. For the soft opening, some of the items on the menu were not available but the owner was kind enough to give me some recommendations on what to get. I ordered the Khinkali with Beef and Pork ($15) and Imeruli Khachapuri ($20) to go. The khinkali (dumplings) were huge and plump. There were four massive dumplings per order. The dough was thicker than that of Chinese dumplings and inside was a mix of minced beef and pork with flavorful broth. The meat was tender and the broth was tasty. The khachapuri (cheese bread) was also quite good. I love bread in all forms so this was right up my alley. The dough was soft and chewy and had Imeruli cheese stuffed inside. Both dishes were hearty, comforting, and delicious. I thought the prices were somewhat on the higher end but otherwise I really enjoyed my meal. read more

I have mixed feelings about Mrs. Georgia. It's a great addition to the neighborhood, and I'm happy it is there. The service was stellar -- attentive but never obtrusive. As other reviewers have noted, the prices are high for the quality and volume of the food. Equal to or higher than the prices at Georgian restaurants I have been to in Manhattan. The food is good, but not so good that the prices are justified. Note: Georgian wine is as good as any in the world. Food good, service great. But I doubt I'll ever go back. Maybe I was there on a bad night, but an employee so messed with the otherwise lovely ambience of the place that by the end of the meal, I couldn't wait to escape. To me, it's just irritating as hell when somebody in a restaurant is making noise with their telephone. Maybe they feel the need to subject everyone in the restaurant to their conversation. Maybe they want to watch a TV show. Maybe they want to listen to THEIR music, so they decide everyone else is going to listen to it too. Maybe they want to use it to make the kids shut up. Whatever, it just seems totally inappropriate and disruptive. At Mrs. Georgia, a woman who appeared to be an employee, maybe even a proprietor, was doing exactly that, and everyone in the restaurant could hear it. HAD to hear it, whether we wanted to or not. The restaurant had music on, but she was conversing on the (speaker!) phone and playing HER music in competition with the restaurant music, which was kind of nice music. By the end of the meal, I couldn't wait to get out of there. It really makes me appreciate those few restaurants that limit phone usage in the dining area. Mrs. Georgia is NOT one of those restaurants. But if you're more tolerant than I am, give it a try. read more

Went not long after opening. It was hot out and they didn't even have the air on. They also brought out the appetizer with the main meals. There were 3 people in our party, 2 meals came out with the app and the 3rd meal came out 20 mins later. It was as if it was forgotten. Was there this past Friday. To start with the place is effectively split into 2 spaces - the main space which has just 1 table for 4 and the rest being tables for 2 and the "terrace" where they crank up the AC even though the weather is great and it's in the 70's. Got there at 7:15 and ordered the following: soup, Georgian salad, hinkali, potatoes, and chicken kebab. All of the above took them 1.5 hours to bring out even though the restaurant wasn't full - so don't bother coming here if you want to be served in a timely manner. On top of that, it was brought in the following order and with 15/20 minute interval between each "dish": salad, soup, potatoes, kebab, hinkali. The staff was absolutely unbothered as it seems the norm to bring 1 dish at a time with huge intervals between them for this subpar establishment. The food was fine, almost on par with other Georgian restaurants in New York(manhattan) except that the portions were 30% smaller but had the same price tag. The cherry on top is that the staff/people who dine smoke right outside the restaurant so if you are sitting at the first table as you enter the restaurant get ready to be blasted with smoke every 10 minutes or whenever these wonderful people decide to smoke. Would never come again and would suggest avoiding this place at all cost, you're better off enjoying any meal anywhere else, McDonald's included. read more
