I took a standardized test near Mrs. Goodman's and a friend recommended I stop by afterwards for a sweet treat. What a great idea she had! For my celebration, I chose two of their cookies: the pumpkin spice and the chocolate chip pecan bar. Wow. They were amazing. Also amazing - the bag of broken cookies you can get on the cheap. Still not sure why I didn't purchase them that day. I blame test anxiety. Mrs. Goodman's also offers personalized cakes and keeps a stock of cakes for spontaneous purchase. I have heard that they are wonderful but cannot yet personally vouch for them. By the way, we "saved" the chocolate chip pecan bar and paired it with Jeni's Salty Caramel Ice Cream - a match made in heaven! read more

We stopped in to redeem some BOGO coupons for cookies the kids earned doing the Worthington Library Summer Reading Program. This was our first time going in and I'm sure it won't be our last. The staff was super friendly and even gave my kids a free mini rainbow sprinkle cookie in addition to the large cookie they each picked. All 4 of us chose a different kind of cookie and each tried a piece of each others. They were all delicious! The chocolate cookie with white chocolate & pecans was voted our favorite, but the m&m, peanut butter & chocolate chip were all also delicious. My kids really liked that the cookie choices were ones they were familiar with, so it made choosing much easier for them. The cupcakes & other pastries on display all looked amazing. Maybe a tad bit pricey, but the quality of the cake I ordered was spot on, and that's really what matters. The cake was moist and the icing was delicious. The BEST cappuccino buttercream /chocolate cupcakes in the world! My absolute favorite treat! My girls love the red velvet and carrot cake cupcakes as well. We also order all our birthday cakes from there. The best is vanilla (with a little almond extract added) with the strawberry butter cream icing and a layer of fresh strawberries between layers! YUM! In the beginning of March I picked up 2 cakes, on a recommendation. They looked nice, the first cake I cut into started to crumble the pieces didn't hold up, the cake wasn't fresh. It was dry and tasteless. I had chocolate put in between the layer which wasn't spread smoothly but just clumped on. For $28 it wasn't worth it, the next cake I took to work was a dry, tasteless mess too. I had lemon put between the layer which didn't add any flavor. That cake was $42. Nobody wanted to eat it, I called the Bakery and their manager called me back, I told him how bad the cake was and that I was bringing it back, he told me that "cakes crumble". I took the cake back with one slice taken out, manager wasn't there but they were informed that I was coming, and the employee insisted that was the way a cake should be. She showed me a slice of cake in the display case that was totally crumbled, I thought who would buy that ?". I left without a refund or an offer for a replacement cake. I've called repeatedly, texted and sent an email without results. I would not recommended this place, cakes and staff are dry and tasteless!! read more

I ordered 4 white/butter cream cupcakes today. The customer service was wonderful. The butter cream icing was as well. The cupcake part was dry and only tasted good when combined with ice cream. The cupcakes were very expensive as well....we are talking plain vanilla cupcakes with no decoration, not organic or gourmet...nothing to justify the cost. It was nice to try but I think I will continue to look for the bakery to satisfy my sweet tooth. read more

St. Michael Catholic School in Worthington placed an order for 6 dozens cut out cookies to celebrate several Baptisms at the Parish. Ample time and requests were given to Mrs. Goodman's and we were told these could be done as requested. The morning of the Baptisms, we picked up the 6+ dozen cookies that were NOT what were originally requested and told that would be made! The cookies looked terrible ! In addition to the cookies looking terrible, there was way too many placed in one box and the icing was disturbed from many of them! When we called to speak to the owner / manager Rachel, she would not take our call. Poor customer service. We do not recommend working with this Bakery! I would not have given them any stars, but had to at least give one to submit my comment! read more

The cakes are delicious. That aside, the customer service isn't great. I ordered two cakes: a 6" double and a smash cake for my daughter's birthday. I called to enlarge the 6" double to an 8". They asked about the smash cake and I said "no the smash cake stays the same". I came to pick up my order and the smash cake was an 8" double. I told them the order was wrong and they said someone called to change it. I told them I did, but it was backwards and explained. They said they could fix it if I could come back at 4. The party is at 2. I really just wanted to leave them, but I did want good cake for my daughter's party. I decided to take it even though it's not what I ordered exactly. (That's a ton of cake for us!) I asked for a discount since it was their mistake and they said "I'm sorry that's not possible." Are you kidding?! I have been using Mrs. Goodman's bakery for cakes for at least 26 years and have never been disappointed and am always delighted! The cakes I used to get my small children for their birthdays were absolutely delicious and so artfully decorated. My requests were always done above and beyond my expectations! So recently we ordered cherry pies from Mrs. Goodman's for our Father's 88th birthday celebration. Let me say they were spectacular! The crust was delicious, tender and flavorful. When I went to pick it up I was told there was no record of paying for it, I gave a full description of the lady I paid and no one believed me.
