This is a gem of a lingerine store! It has a beautiful selection of robes, sleep sets, slips, shapers, bras, and undies which ranges from medium to higher end designers. On the higher end, the store featured cashmere robes, silk pajamas, and silk chemises. It is my go to spot for gifts throughout the year. Who doesn't love a cozy robe at Christmas? Also, cute pajamas are a hit all year. Bonus points because they offer free, gorgeous wrapping service. The owner is invariably accommodating, professional, and lovely. If something is not in stock, she will offer to order it. She is helpful with recommendations without being overbearing or intrusive. She also does bra fittings, a dying art. I love the connotation the name of this boutique conjures up: elegant, womanly and very, very naughty. Well, they hit the nail on the head, because this store is full of lacy doodles for women who are still somewhat classy. Wowza. They carry silky slips, lacy panties, sexy bras and even a peek-a-boo nightie or two. Located on Wayland Ave, this shop is obviously catering to the classy women of the East Side -- and the fact that sometimes, they like to be a little risque under all those sweater sets. But here's the thing: you can get all that is naughty AND all that is nice, because they've also got a selection of more practical items, like cotton nightgowns and fluffy robes. I know, it's not as fun, but seriously - who can wear all that sexy lacy stuff all of the time? The ladies who run the shop are helpful and reserved, which I like. Very disappointed in the owner. I supported this shop throughout COVID. Spent over $300 on bras and $200 in PJs. Last week I bought 3 pair of lace underwear for $22 apiece. Wore one to golf that day as I had no light colored ones. Less than 3 hours wearing discovered lace ripping in two places. At $22 I expected her to apologized and replace them. WRONG!!!! Despite remembering me she told me it had to be my fault and refused to stand by her merchandise. Love a neighborhood customer for life!!! Hanky Panky is sold everywhere and will replace with a new store. read more

I have gotten a Chantelle bra and panties, and some Mary Green mesh panties here. They're really quality items that I've worn a ton, and despite being delicate/lacy, they've held up. Also a great store for buying gifts. This store has moved across the street recently. Nice selection of utilitarian as well as pretty undergarments! My mother loves this place, and now I know why. A high end lingerie shop, for those with expensive taste, that caters towards an over 60 crowd. Think tasteful moo-moo with the occasional youthful cami and boy short set. The back is lined with bras while the front remains shocking absent of inventory. For those in love with cashmere, I would like to direct your attention to the rack behind the cash wrap to find cozy lounge sweaters and robes that start at $495 and up. Do I hear a Christmas list in the making? I like this store--I probably wouldn't have ventured into a store like this when I was in my 20's-30's, but after years of wearing I'll-fitting bras that have caused discomfort and damage to my body over time, I wish I would have known about Mrs Robinson's store throughout the many physical changes a female body goes through. Like most women, I've purchased lingerie @ major department stores and @ Victoria Secret and online. Sure, there's a wide variety of bras and underwear at those stores, but the items often don't wear as comfortably as a bra that is correctly fitted based on the brand and fitted to your shape & size. This store is a "No Judgment Zone" and I encourage you to get properly fitted and to buy a good bra, at least once in your life! You'll feel better and your clothes will fit better. read more

The first time I strolled in here, the proprietress scowled at me and reprimanded me like a school marm for walking in with a drink which I wasn't even sipping on. That I even bother to come back given my roll-my-eyes worthy first experience is a testament to my opinion of their skill here. This place is staffed by honest-to-goodness fit geniuses who will size you up in about a minute, help you find exactly what it is you are looking for, and probably convince you to leave with more loot than you came for. It's on the pricier side, but if you don't want to mess around and are looking to find lingerie that fits well, this is definitely a shop to check out. read more

I've always had a wonderful experience shopping at Mrs. Robison. Their pajamas are a favorite holiday gift amongst the women in my family and I found a lot of great items for myself as well! This independent shop deserves no stars. Previous reviews note the Owner's complete unwillingness to honor exchanges or credits, which is true. The Owner is haughty and unhelpful, looking down her nose at certain potential customers and even embarrassing them with her thinly veiled slights. The selection favors the larger woman and the stock is exactly what you will find at Nordstrom and Macy's, or any of the on-line retailers like "Her Room" and even Amazon. The major differences are price, service and attitude. While a major supporter of the "Shop Local" Movement, this is one instance when consumers should look anywhere but at this local purveyor of lingerie. The owner was delighted with my $150 dollar purchase and sold me by telling me I can return it with the receipt however, when I called about the policy to see if there was a time limit on this she informed me that it was merchandise credit only. The owner got so frazzled during my questioning about my interaction with her that she told me she "bends over backwards for her customers" and hung up on me. I have been here once and will never return. The owner helped me select pajamas for my cousin who was having brain surgery the following day. I was very upset and we discussed her illness - the owner seemed very sympathetic. She gift wrapped the pj's beautifully and I was on my way. My cousin died during surgery (the following day) - I hadn't even had a chance to visit her. I returned the (unwrapped) gift to Mrs. Robinsons the following day. The owner refused to credit my credit card even after I told her the circumstances. While I can understand a "no return" policy, this seemed a little harsh. read more

When I first called to inquire whether this boutique does fittings or not, I was told they do. I was speaking to the daughter of the owner and she assured me of her mother's fine expertise before hurriedly rushing me off of the phone with an ambiguous answer as to their hours. No appointment was necessary. Upon entering the shop, I was told to leave my tea on the counter. As I smiled and nodded, sipping it one more time before placing it down I was greeted with a lukewarm hello and may I help you? Before I could let the cup touch down, a young lady poised in one of the armchairs at the entrance paused her conversation with her friend and ma'am'd me to put the drink down before I went any further. I had just met the mother daughter team of this fine establishment :) Something about this gloriously uncomfortable exchange gave me the deep sudden urge to empty my bladder. But as it turns out, I was told Mrs. Robinson's is an upscale lingerie boutique without a bathroom available to their customers but I was welcome to walk up to the diner right down the block and come on back. At this point, invested as I was into this strange shopping trip, I was more determined than ever not to walk away empty handed, all obviously lacking customer service and bedside manner be damned. So I did as I was told and returned promptly, hoping and praying against all odds that the fitting itself would be fabulous and worth the experience. Not so. Other than being handed a couple of bras by the acutely unpleasant matriarch, there was nothing even remotely resembling a fitting. So I took matters into my own hands and tried on everything I laid my eyes on, which wasn't much. The selection was ridiculously sparse and shamefully overpriced. And if I'm on the East Side, in Wayland Square, not only am I silly enough to expect stellar customer service, but also a PRIVATE fitting room. Again, epic fail on the part of this managing duo. The place where I am expected to try on the most intimate and personal of gorgeous expensiveness was nothing more than a curtained room just in the back there, sans privacy or comfort. A department store fitting room won't do if you claim to be as refined as these ladies claim to be. In the end, I stayed true to my word and did not leave empty handed. I bought a pair of fantastic underwear that make me look and feel like a Divine Goddess. I found them only because I persevered and vowed not to have a crappy experience. I could have bought the underwear online, in a mall, any bloody where really, for half the price. But I came to this boutique for the advertised fine treatment. I wasn't price shopping. I made sure the $400 I had in cash was fully visible as I paid for my one pair of underwear. THAT was my lingerie money. I'm a beautiful happy mom, with an awesome family and an amazing husband. I wanted to take a few precious hours out of my incredibly busy mom life to be treated like a special queen while I picked out a gift to wear for that bonafide husband I just mentioned. Which I did anyway, but definitely no thanks to Mrs. Robinson's Fine Lingerie. YOU ladies dropped the ball HARD.
