Mt Everest is owned by husband / wife team. They have a tremendous work ethic. I go 2-3 times per month. The female co-owner is out front; the male co-owner is the chef in the back. I've never been there on a day when the owners are not there. The dedication shows up in the quality of food and experience. Over 20 or so visits in the past 6-7 months, Mt. Everest has never disappointed. Curries are rock solid. I'm especially a fan of their korma. My daughter loves the saag. Mt Everest is excellent for an intimate, personalized experience. They owners are hustling to build the business. Do not expect an army of wait staff to descend upon you. The restaurant is not yet to the point of high end touches and flourishes. Rather, go expecting delicious food and warm, friendly service. Coming from Portland, I have eaten good Indian food and was not expecting the experience of excellent preparation, fast, efficient service, spotless and quiet environment at Mt. Everest. If I could rate this 3.5 instead of 3, I would. I was so excited to visit this 5 star landmark but was disappointed after having the dinner buffet. The chicken tikka masala was so bland compared to other restaurants. The other food didn't have much spice/flavor either. The service was amazing and it was a good environment. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. They do a great job accommodating dietary restrictions and will make any dish with coconut milk instead of dairy. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. I eat here a lot and have tried a lot of the dishes. I would not recommend the Chana but everything else has been great. read more
