I am so excited to have such good Nepalese and Indian food so close to our house. I've never lived this close to good Indian food... who would have thought it would take moving to this quaint little burg to get good Indian close?? I had an event in OKC on Wed night, and my husband ordered this for us when I was leaving. It was ready when I got there, and they threw in a mango lassi as well. We loved the butter chicken, palak paneer and the tandoori chicken. The samosas were excellent, and so was that free lassi. And the naan... finally a place with perfect naan where they also give you enough with your standard order. The service was fast and friendly, our food was ready on time, and piping hot when we got it home. I imagine I'll be here every few weeks for some incredible takeout, especially since we discovered that the kids absolutely loved it. I think that's a pretty big parenting win! read more

We have been doing take out only (Covid) and they do one of the best! It's hard to find good Indian food in Edmond and we are definitely wanting them to be successful here. The portions are generous and everything is deliciously fresh. We usually get Chicken tikka masala and palak paneer. The masala could go to a level 4 spice if you enjoy spicy. The naan is always one of my favorite utensils to scoop up the sauces. They have papad wafers but you have to ask for them but definitely worth trying. I ordered butter chicken and my wife ordered the chilly chicken. Sadly this is the worst I have ever had, so bad that it prompted me to write my first Yelp review. The butter chicken was so cloyingly sweet (who makes sweet butter chicken?!) that I gave up after a bite or two; I honestly think they may have messed up the order. My wife's chilly chicken was better, but also oddly sweet, and there were pieces of aluminum foil in the food. Game changing spot. Always skeptical of Indian cuisine in Oklahoma but this place is a gem and I'm glad I tried it bc I will be coming here often in the future. I ordered take out and went with the chicken chetnad which came with rice. All the food has a spicy level 1-10. The Chetnad specifically says it's spicy on the menu. I went with a spicy level 7 and it was perfect if you enjoy getting a little bit of a nose drip while eating. Great flavor and spice. The serving is enough for 2 people, easily. Within seconds I got it which told me it was not fresh, it did not taste fresh either. Second, I ordered samosa. They were still cold in the center. Last, I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. Tasted like it was in a sauce of Campbell's tomato soup and the chicken was old and dry. A lot of people have raved about this place, and so I was really expecting it to be a great experience. Unfortunately, I found the spice flavors to really be lacking in a lot of the food, and it was pretty blah. The service was excellent, the space is very clean, and it is clear that they care about their business. To put it as gently as possible, I find that food in the...central part of the country tends towards more simple flavors. That's fine, and many people love and appreciate that, and I respect that fully. For me personally, I prefer my food to be more spiced. We started with an order of the fried momo, or dumplings. These were good, with a nice flavor to them. It was a unique flavor, unlike most dumplings I've had before, but really enjoyable. I then had the lamb thali, and this is where I felt let down. The lamb curry was filled with tough lamb pieces. It should be so tender from being cooked down, but wasn't. The rice was fine. The dal was quite bland. The best thing on the plate, hands down, was the Nepali Achar, or pickle. It was INCREDIBLE. I mixed it in with the mixed vegetables (which were quite tasty in their own right), and WOW. Amazing! I'd order just the pickles. Overall, as I said, it was bland and not to my taste. But if you've never tried much food outside of fried things, and are uncertain about spice, this is a wonderful place to start. read more

Staff was very nice. The food is okay. My favorite is still Tandoori Guys in Tulsa. The vegetable biryani seemed to be a bit overcooked rice wise, it was kind of wet somehow. Both chaana dishes were a bit underseasoned but still good. The daal was good. Enjoyed the free papadam. Wish there was a vegan naan option though. I'll still just go to Taj in OKC when I can't make the 2 hour drive to Broken Arrow. The restaurant is small and cute. I like the neighborhood spot vibes. read more

This food is always so delicious. Just had a take out order and it did not disappoint. It's also how I prove my kid is not actually sick to her stomach. I say "Oh well I'm going to order Everest" and just like that my friends, she's ready to eat. I love that the kids meals are not tiny. I've been here twice now and enjoyed it both times. I had lamb curry both times with garlic naan. I usually go medium in the spice so a 5 out of 10. I know some of you will want to go hotter though. To me the 5 gives it a spicy flavor and doesn't bother my stomach but go with whay you like. The menu has many different choices to choose including Masala and Tandori dishes. I also had fried momo for an appetizer. It was soft, moist and hot but not so hot that you burn your mouth when taking a bite. The service was great and I even got seperate containers to take the left overs home. I'll get back to this restaurant again when I start getting my Indian craving on. Mt Everest is always good! Locals love it and the service is quite good. The music and decorations make it feel like a mini trip to Nepal or India. The food is always made to order and they definitely take pity on those of us who have a tough time with spice (me--yes I am talking about me!). I only gave this place 3 stars because it's kind of an awkward place. The food was WONDERFUL! If I'd had the food to go, it would have been 5 stars. The staff hovers while you eat, and it's just weird to me. Literally, one staff member pulled up a chair and sat next to the buffet. They were nice, don't get me wrong. We had tried this restaurant about 4 years ago and the buffet was forced upon us at the time. The server was curt and he rushed us through our lunch. We had only previously tried Indian food a couple times so not familiar with each buffet item even with labels on the glass. Some of the meat was rather gristly and unappetizing. We left and had not returned unti recently deciding to try again on a Sunday for dinner. The buffet is now on Saturday and Sunday lunch times so we got to order off a menu that is placed under the glass table for everyone to share. Although it is efficient, it made for difficulty reading what each meal contains as the names were not helpful unless you were already familiar with Indian dishes. The servers were not rude but a little curt yet efficient. Do not expect a smile from these gals as they move quickly. We tried to ask about menu items and were not given helpful descriptions and they always seemed a little put out with a request. Our drinks were not refilled until the end so if you need water with your spicy meals, beware. Also, the spices are fine powder and can exacerbate coughing spasm if a hot smoking dish is brought out. There was a few coughing fits from patrons and we felt the tickle in our throats. The easiest meal to try is the masala. Its a creamy thick orange curry sauce with your choice of meat. We got 1 chicken and 1 shrimp order. The chicken pieces are in huge chunks. The shrimp was bite sized and halved so there's not alot of shrimp. The chicken masala skewer are huge chunks on a plate (no skewer stick) with onion, carrots and peppers but you get quite a bit of chicken. Rice comes with the orders and a plate of thin chip like crackers to dip in a mint salsa or bbq is complementary. We ordered the cheese bread basket of naan. It was good. If you prefer spice it is on a scale to 10. I love spice and the 10 spice on my shrimp makhani left me with my first experience of heartburn-loved the spice level but I didn't like the spice flavor/smell. It reminded me of the smell at the petting zoo. Overall, we would return to try additional items or the masala. However, the service was not impressive nor helpful. The check is rushed out before you request it and listed many high options for tip LOL. The restaurant was a little tight, claustrophobic and could use more cleaning so not a good choice if you like ambience. read more

Himalayan/Nepali food is nowhere to be seen at Mt. Everest, at least when it comes to their lunch buffet. I glanced at their menu while paying, and I can tell that they do have Nepali food. You just have to order it à la carte, I guess. The buffet was the standard Indian buffet items, but the selection was very small as a whole. They had the predictable stuff like chicken tikka masala, which is about as Indian as General Tso's chicken is Chinese. But Mt. Everest's CTM was really sweet, which became increasingly unpleasant the more I ate it. Also, when you use white meat chicken pieces only, the flavor isn't as rich compared to when you use dark meat chicken. But that's not unique to Mt. Everest. Pretty much every Indian place in town opts for big, bland, boiled-esque chunks of chicken breast for their CTM. There was paneer for days. The mattar paneer was really good, as was the saag/palak paneer. There was a paneer tikka as well, but it had the same problem as the chicken tikka masala in that the curry base was too sweet. So the, tandoori chicken... Honestly, it was some of the worst tandoori chicken I've had in GOKC in quite a while. We happened to enter right around the time they opened (11:30 am), which means that the food should have been fresh, but the tandoori chicken was rock hard and dry. Whatever flavor was present (which was really not a whole lot) was largely lost because of the energy that it took to chew through it. Something tells me it may have been reheated. The chicken pakora was pretty good, as was the vegetable pakora. What's that you say? Deep-fried food items taste delicious? Oh right, that reminds me... The gulab jamun had a hint of onion, which is one of the last things you want to taste when eating dessert. Considering they also had vegetable/onion pakora, it's possible (as suggested by Tanya M.) that they may have fried the gulab jamun in the same oil as the pakora. Blech. After tip and everything, for two people it was slightly more than $28. I find that asking price to be so far removed from what was offered. And considering that nothing there was uniquely Himalayan or Nepali, really we just paid an Edmond premium for sub-par, bland, yuppified North Indian food. Interestingly enough, there's a noticeable trend with a majority of the negative (and positive) reviews. See if you can figure it out... Hint: Melanin. "Meh" is accurate. P. S. 5% discount when checking in on Facebook or Yelp. Not a huge savings, but the fact that they even offer something like that is nice. read more

Truly a hidden gem in Edmond. Went for our monthly date night around 7 pm on a Friday, was relatively busy. Had the chicken tikka masala, tandoori mixed grill and channa masala, all spiced at a level 7 and it was ALL perfection. Explosion of flavors. Service was fast, courteous and everything was piping hot and super fresh, garlic naan was incredible, portions were huge. I could go on and on for days. If you want Indian, Nepali, Pakistani food this is probably your best bet to satisfy those cravings in the OKC Edmond area. The menu is rather extensive with several common favorites while also providing a few unique options. All of which are tasty! If you order directly on their website they have combo specials for dinner and weekend only specials too. These are great options if you are ordering two plus entrees. I really enjoy the chicken saagwala. It's chicken dish with spinach but the flavors are great! Their "basmati" rice could use some flavor and it's not the highest quality of rice either. And the bread naan here I don't think is homemade. But the curries are homemade and yummy. read more

Mt. Everest is a wonderful place to eat a little too much naan, pakora, and other spiced delights. If you go in the evening, the menu is your only option, so don't come looking for a buffet. But, on the menu, you will find a ton of delicious options that will make you fall in love with your dish and yet still share it with the people at your table so that you can have a shot at trying some of theirs. The only even slightly negative observation I have about the restaurant is the location. Please know that this isn't exactly a great nice date out spot because it is in a strip mall with a Walmart and plenty of other chains. Otherwise, the food is great. read more
