When I inquired about a good place to eat by a student at University of Louisville, the first thing out of his mouth was Mt Fuji. "It's cheap and they give you a lot of food." The next day he reiterated it and a spectator chimed in as well so I hoofed it over there. They were gonna close within 25 minutes so it was takeout only. Got the Hibachi steak & shrimp combo & pork gyoza. No I'm not a big steak person and I actually prefer mine on the medium rare side but when I asked how it was prepared they said it's usually medium so I went with that. Food is served quickly and is often ready ~10-15 minutes after ordering. Standard hibachi, always get the veggie hibachi, a fried roll, and maybe a side or two. I really enjoyed Mt Fuji when I first moved to the area and although it was always a little pricier than my hometown takeout hibachi, it was still pretty comparable. Now it feels like there's a bit of shrinkflation creeping it just doesn't really feel like there's bargain it was. Ft. Fuji is a favorite spot for many near UofL's campus. The hibachi is probably the most popular, but they also have some sushi rolls and a variety of other dishes. You can order online, call ahead, and just order in store for carry-out or dine-in. Regardless, they move pretty quickly, and you'll get to eating before you know it. I personally always get two yum yum sauces, and if I'm treating myself, I'll get a bubble tea as well (it's not my favorite, but I like it)! I was searching for a nearby sushi place and landed here based on the reviews and it being about 5 miles from my workplace. I ordered the pork gyoza, yum yum roll, spicy cali roll, cardinal roll, and a drink which all cost about $37. The pork gyoza was good although a bit cold by the time I got back to the office and it seemed a little small in size. The spicy cali roll was also good and probably the best item I ordered from here. The yum yum roll to me tasted like eating a chicken nugget with honey mustard on it and the avocado had already turned brown inside, while some pieces had no avocado in it at all. The cardinal roll was a bit on the fishy side for having crab and shrimp and a little filling on the inside. For having 3 people working and standing by the register area no one seemed overly welcoming when I came in, and they recommended having your order number out rather than giving your name so, be prepared to have that on hand. Parking spaces may be limited streetside as well. Would I come here again? Probably not and I'd rate it around 2.5 stars. read more

Most people come here for hibachi, but I come for sushi. It's right on UofL's campus so it's very quick and convenient. I've tried the hibachi and it's good. I'm just not into that kind of food. I got the yum yum roll, Godzilla roll and cardinal roll. It took about 10 minutes to get it. If they're busy, it could take some time. I've had the yum yum roll before and it's decent. It gets kind of boring after eating a few pieces. Both the yum yum and Godzilla are deep fried but nether of them had any color to them. I guess they didn't fry them very long because they weren't very crispy either. The Godzilla was my favorite out of the three. It had cream cheese in it which basically guarantees I'll like it. I was surprised that I liked the cardinal roll. It has eel sauce on it and I got some extra. It ended up being around $30 but I was splitting it with a friend so $15 wasn't bad for trying three different rolls. read more

Outstanding! This small little walk-in spot near UofL does Hibachi right! Today was the first, of what will now become regular visits here. Four of us stopped in here and grabbed a takeaway lunch of three Chicken Teriyakis, one with noodles and two with rice, a Chicken & Shrimp Hibachi, a Yum-Yum Roll, a Spicy Salmon Roll and Goyzu. We were all amazed, satisfied with good food and plenty of it - even enough for leftovers lunch tomorrow. There may be better hibachi style meals in Louisville but I haven't seen one yet and if I do they better bring their best stuff to compete with this little gem! read more

Then they will call the number on your receipt and bring the food to your table. Hibachi meals come with fried rice, steamed rice, or noodles. Decided to come here for dinner. I had been hearing about this combination rice meal my cousin has been getting. I ordered the combination plate, with 4 extra yummy sauces. For my wife she had the yum yum rolls (which I will be trying lol) I've never been big on sushi, however I've become a bigger fan lately since I had some from Saki Blue. So I got home and that food was amazing! Portion was much bigger than I expected. So I had to put it on a plate and will have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The sushi can be a little warm because of how closely it's made to the hibachi grill, but it doesn't impact its flavor- and for only $10.70, who can complain? My friends who went to U of L absolutely love this place and this week, I got to see why. My boyfriend, a U of L alum, told me that the chicken hibachi with extra yum yum sauce is the only way to go. So, I went there, and it was delicious. I also got a cucumber salad because I love cucumber and I was interested to see what their interpretation was. I would not recommend the cucumber salad. It's just a peeled cucumber chopped in big chunks with a few shaved carrots and a side of sauce. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but it wasn't that! Oh well. I guess it proves my boyfriend right: the chicken hibachi with extra yum yum sauce is the only way to go.
