    Food truck sign

Found this food truck in the middle of downtown Sandy, Oregon near that famous donut shop. It was in a food cart pod with about 7 other food trucks parked in the area. There were two ports potties on the lot. This cheesesteak food cart was so good! Everything was very flavorful, especially the chipotle sauce; I would easily buy a bottle of that in a heart beat! The fries and sandwich were piping hot when the order was ready and it was just all around good comfort food on a cold fall day. The person working the window was also so nice! Overall I recommend stopping by here and trying a one of a kind cheesesteak from Mt Hood Cheesesteaks!

Alright, listen up, PNW foodies, your local NY food snob here--I've been seeing a lot of people asking where the best burger in Sandy is and I've officially found the BEST burger in the region! It's hiding at... wait for it... Mt. Hood Cheesesteaks. Yes, I said "Cheesesteaks" , but apparently, they moonlight as burger geniuses. This burger was so good, I almost wrote it a love letter. The bun? Toasted like it just got back from a tropical vacation. The patty? So juicy it probably hydrates better than your water bottle. The toppings? Let's just say they'd make a salad cry out of jealousy.... If you haven't been yet, what are you even doing with your life? Get there now. And don't ask if I saved you a bite--there was no "saving" involved. I blacked out and it was gone. Not to mention, the owners are so awesome, they might actually be superheroes in disguise!

Our normal truck was closed on Christmas Eve, so we decided on some cheesesteaks. Always a good alternative. The service was friendly, and they have a nice selection of sandwich and fry options. We opted for 3 "meals", which included a half sandwich, small fry, and can of soda. My daughter and I got the regular steaks, although she opted for rosemary (Parmesan, olive oil, and garlic topped) fries. My husband chose the mushroom cheesesteak. The cheesesteaks were served up piping hot, with a decent amount of fries. The fries were all cooked perfectly, and my daughters rosemary option were especially tasty. As for the cheesesteaks, while they were certainly good, I'd consider them average in the taste department. In my humble opinion, larger chunks of peppers and onions, more spices, and a toasted bun would've elevated the taste a bunch. Overall they make a good sandwich, and certainly offer a good option at the food truck stop.

Cheesesteak with cheese wiz is ESSENTIAL!

When heading up to Mt. Hood, stop at this awesome food cart area, you will not be disappointed! I absolutely loved every bite of my cheesesteak sando - the meat was delicious, the bread was like a marshmallow, and the melted cheese AND additional wiz made this authentic and INCREDIBLE! I split the larger size with my husband. This sando gave us the fuel we needed to enjoy a snow day at Mt. Hood, can't wait to visit again!

Their Jalapeño Popper cheesesteak, sooooo good!

This place is phenomenal! Hands down the best Cheesesteaks you are going to find anywhere near here. We recently moved to Sandy and this is one of our new favorite spots to grab lunch. The meat is tender and flavorful, every bite is chock full of flavor because they cut their veggies smaller to ensure each bite is an experience. And the bread they use is so light and tender, so good. My two favorite sandwiches are the Jalapeno Popper one and the BBQ Bacon (add jalapenos for more yum!) both with Provolone cheese. If you happen to find yourself traveling through Sandy Oregon, I highly recommend you take a few minutes extra to have one, you'll be happy you did.

We stopped here, on our way home from a tour in Rhododendron. We surely didn't want to have lunch…read moreat another franchise restaurant, and found this Deli (sounds Greek, hubby said), appealing! It turned out, it's a place for people to play video games, and relax! More like a Dotty's Restaurant. But, the woman behind the counter greeted us right away, even though she was with a customer, and handed us a menu, even though we were already reading what was on the wall. I was observing her, because in places like this type of restaurants, you'll never know, right? Whatever she was tending to, I noticed: she always washed her hands with soap & towel dry. That's a plus, specially we're still in the COVID, but not masking . . . as much. She was friendly! Our sandwiches: I ordered Turkey, wrote everything down. Hubby ordered hamburger, wrote everything down. Which is same filling as mine, with or without onions, mustard and/or ketchup. "Ketchup on a turkey sandwich?" Not me! Others are so weird, yes they'll have it on turkey, too! LOL I couldn't believe, the sandwiches were fixed like I would at home! It is no wonder, I was taking big bites, and ate it all up. It was so good! I was hungry! Or that was probably why I was taking big bites! I put the rest of my chips in my bag! Hubby also got a Twinkie and Hostess Cream Filled Cupcake. I was a Twinkie Princess in HS, so I picked the Twinkie. $1 each. Water is Free. Soda $1 each. Then, she asked me also, if I wanted a pickle on the side. I said of course! We made sure, we didn't missed any thing! We got to talking about the Lucky Bamboo, and I showed her mine, same age, same style, same height. (This time, while she was eating a burito-style, she's having lunch, everyone has that right). It was a after 2pm. I didn't have anything to say about the restroom. We'll be back! BTW: Devaki is the name of the building!
