Celia at the front desk was very helpful when I was filling out my insurance info and paperwork. When I did my eye exam with Dr. Robert, he was so helpful and so patient with me and was very informative on different options. Out of all the optometrists that I have seen in the past, he has been the best one I've gone to. I can tell that he really cares about his patients and I am so glad that I found this place through my work. After I got my eyes dilated, I hung out a little bit and looked through glasses trying to find ones that fit my face. I am very petite and I have a very small face, and I always get glasses in the kids section. The person working that evening was so patient with me and so very helpful. I wish I got her name, but she had short curly hair and it was brownish blonde I think. I felt like she went above and beyond to help me find frames that sit comfortably on my face. I didn't feel rushed at all. She even went to the back a few times to try to find other pairs that might fit me. Overall, I had the best experience here and will most likely come back for my future eye exams. I love the staff and I love how they made me feel comfortable and cared for.

Prior to the appointment, she was asked about medical insurance, which caused confusion, as this was an annual routine eye appointment. I called the office seeking clarification, but Dylan could not adequately explain why the visit was billed as medical. I was told the office manager, Chrissy, would call my wife the next day, but no call was made. When I followed up that afternoon, Chrissy stated, "I had no intention of calling or apologizing because I was too busy doing other things and credentialling another doctor." Chrissy had time to listen to the recordings of my wife making the initial appointment and my conversation with Dylan, talk to the front desk staff, talk to the examining Optometrist, and review the billing for the visit, all prior to our phone conversation. During our conversation, Chrissy fabricated that my wife "came in concerned about her cataracts and eyelids." This is flatly untrue. Rather than addressing our concerns, she focused on my tone and accused me of being rude and condescending. She also minimized our concerns by stating that, "the medical portion would likely be covered and that we would not receive a bill." We have still not received a clear explanation as to why a routine vision exam became a medical exam. During the exam, the doctor confirmed my wife's existing cataracts were unchanged and briefly discussed drooping eyelids, which my wife declined to pursue treatment for. At no point was she informed that the exam was being converted to a medical visit. My wife has been a patient at Cascade Eye for years, and her cataracts previously documented during routine exams, without the visits being billed medically. We feel it was disingenuous that she was not informed of the change in billing status and was asked by receptionist Kathy to sign treatment consent forms after the exam. My wife has since called the office and requested an itemized bill from Dylan. The staff's poor communication, inability to answer billing questions, and dismissive response to our concerns caused unnecessary confusion and stress. Instead of receiving an explanation or apology, we encountered contentiousness and contradictory information, including statements that previous visits were not billed medically because a prior doctor had "shoddy paperwork.". We invite the clinic owner to listen to the conversations I had with his staff on August 11th & 12th. In particular, the office manager completely failed to represent Cascade Eye in a professional manner, and instead deflected blame onto the front desk staff, previous doctors, my wife, and myself. This was an awful patient & family experience filled with unclear, dishonest staff communication and misleading billing. We were able to pay for my Wife's Trial Contact Lenses contactless. Awesome. Less than a week later, My Wife's Contacts came in and she was able to make an appointment for the next day to check them out. The Dr was super friendly and made my Wife feel at ease. She even mentioned possibly putting in a application. I'm glad we found a great optometrist so close to my home. My Wife couldn't be happier.

I was told that if they didn't work, I could bring them back and they would make them right. After about five weeks, I called because I was having trouble adjusting. I was told to give it more time, so I did. After several more months, the glasses still made me nauseated and didn't work properly. When I went back, I was told I was wearing them incorrectly and just needed to move my head more. However, if I physically hold the glasses higher on my face, they work much better. Despite that, I was ultimately told they would not remake or adjust them. Then my daughter had an issue with her glasses. She was given the wrong prescription and had to take them back. They corrected the prescription, and she chose replacement frames that were less expensive than the originals. Even though the original mistake was theirs, they refused to refund the $80 difference in the cost of the frames. Glasses are a significant investment, and they're essential for everyday life. When mistakes happen, customers deserve to have them corrected without additional cost. Instead, I'm left with $500 glasses that I can't comfortably wear, and my vision insurance won't cover another pair for two years. On top of that, we overpaid for my daughter's replacement frames because of the office's error. This has been the worst customer service I've experienced from a healthcare provider. The right thing to do would be to remake my glasses so they fit and function properly and refund the $80 difference for my daughter's replacement frames. That seems like a fair and reasonable resolution. I hope this review encourages the office to make things right. Over the following months, I contacted my insurance company, worked with the clinic's billing department, and repeatedly requested documentation showing that I was informed of and agreed to testing that would create additional financial responsibility. Instead, I was sent a blank quote containing no patient name, no signature, and no identifying information connecting it to my account, along with generic clinic forms that did not address my concerns. I also requested multiple times, both verbally and in writing, to discuss the matter with owner Yume Paige, but was told by the office that the owner was not available to speak with me. At this point, the issue is no longer the $45 charge. It is the lack of transparency, documentation, and communication. After nearly a year and months of effort to resolve this professionally, I have lost confidence in this clinic's billing practices and would have expected the patient relationship to be valued more highly than a disputed $45 balance. Here's what happened. My teenage son (like many teenagers) occasionally loses or damages his glasses. We went to Costco to get a replacement, only to find out his prescription had expired just two days prior. Annoying, but what made it worse was discovering that this office had issued a one-year prescription; something that is highly unusual for a healthy teenager. Most providers issue two-year prescriptions in cases like this. So now we're stuck. We contacted them, explained the situation, and made a very reasonable request: a short extension so we could order glasses immediately, since my son is leaving town and needs them. A simple request for flexibility. The response? While the receptionist was polite, it was a flat no by the office manager and doctor. No consideration. No willingness to help. No attempt at even basic customer care. Again, yes, they can do that. But the bigger issue is that they seem to set patients up for this exact situation by issuing unusually short prescriptions in the first place. It's hard not to see this as a tactic to drive more appointments rather than serve patients. To add insult to injury, their prices are already on the higher side. Normally, you might tolerate that for great service, but that clearly isn't what you'll get here. If you value flexibility, fairness, or even basic understanding as a customer, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. We certainly will, and I hope you save yourself the headache and avoid them!
