I then reached out to my audiologist niece who suggested I call OHSU SoundSource. (I know-why didn't reach out to her from the start!) They not only fixed the pair I gave them, but an even older hearing aid that was just in the box. I didn't even ask them to have this second pair looked at. And yes, all for $25 WHILE I WAITED (around 15 minutes). OHSU SoundSource is a non-profit .edu connected to the Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) but is all self pay. It had been over a year and so I called to inquire about the cost and they told me that there would be no charge. I went in. The tech sat me down in a booth and told me to listen to various beeps - you know the drill. He told me that the receptionist would come in and read words to me whicn I was to repeat back. That didn't happen. He wasn't familiar with the Widex proprietary software but fiddled with various settings anyway. The first setting was blaringly loud. I told him it was very uncomfortable. He reduced the volume several times and then gave up and said jhe'd return the settings to the original. In the meantime he inadvertently clicked on a toggle whicn changed the function of the button on each hearing aid from volume control to hearing program selection. I realized this a day later and made another appointment to have it switched back. The second appointment went well. The tech called Widex and they walked him through the process to have the button function returned to volume control. However, along the way another function went awry. On the Widex app there are various programs When you change the program (on your phone) to a new one, it announces the name of the new one through the speakers of your hearing aids. That function stopped working. I made another appointment. That was this morning. The tech called Widex. When the first customer service representative realized he needed to go up the chain and put him/us on hold, the tech hung up and quit trying to solve the issue. He started complaining as though I was taking advantage of his time. I mentioned that the problem(s) were his fault - not being familiar with the Widex software. He denied any responsibility for the issue and told me he was not willing to give me any more of his time. He invited me to go elsewhere which I did. And I'm glad I did. You'll see lots of nice reviews when Karl was running the ship. He was a terrific gentleman. But he hasn't been there for a couple of years now.

We went to Able Hearing, hoping to find something that worked better. We were really happy with our decision. The personalized customer service we received enabled my mom to get a much better fit on her hearing aid and much better performance. Lucas was great. He took the time answer our questions and provide guidance on which models might be best suited for her. The extra time he spent on the fitting made a big difference on how it worked for her. It's been about a year since my mom received her new hearing aid. During that time, their customer service has been excellent, providing adjustments and tuning. Each time, they have been friendly and welcoming. Our observation is that they really go the extra mile in providing customer service. We were really pleased with the way they handled the situation when my mom recently lost her hearing aid. Living with hearing loss can be very frustrating at times. Although we would have saved money by buying another unit at a big box store, we felt it was worth the extra money to have someone spend extra time on the fitting and tuning so that we would have better results. We are very pleased with our experience here and highly recommend their services.

Over the years, I kept thinking about it but didn't have the money or I felt I needed to lose "x" amount of weight. Well at 48, I was in a great place financially, found the Love of my Life and my Life Partner and he loved me just the way I was physically. But... I decided to go for it because I knew it would make me feel better about ME. Dr Connall was recommended to me by a friend who saw him for a tummy tuck (among other things) and she raved about him. I looked online and was impressed that you could actually get a real quote from the site and the price included all pre & post op appointments and the anesthesia - there are NO hidden fees. I scheduled my appointment and after my consultation, I felt exactly the same about him and his team. I happily scheduled my appointment and then Covid struck hard. So after 3 months from the original appointment, I was finally able to get it done in June. I couldn't be happier with the results! I was in minimal pain and the pain pills prescribed to me were fine and I had enough of them. You leave in a minimal support front closed bra and after the first day, I took it off and haven't worn a bra since! I was off work for 5 days - I work at a desk in front of a computer - and that was fine. You will be feeling great after the 2nd day and you do need to remember that you just had surgery and to not do too much. Dr Connall called within a week to check on me and I just had my first in person follow up yesterday. He was happy with how things were healing and the progress of the implant settling. However, warning...if you are going significantly bigger...please remember that you will have chest muscle swelling and the breast skin needs to stretch for the implants to fall and settle. For some reason I thought I would look like Barbie right after...ummm...no...lol. But I am 5 weeks after surgery and they look great now and I know will look even better in the next few months. I would also recommend getting some nipple cream as they will get super sensitive as the skin stretches also. I found some organic breastfeeding nipple cream on Amazon and it has been amazing. All in all....if you ever thought you wanted to have it done...DO IT!!! I am so happy with the results and super happy I chose Dr Connall and his team!

A Cautionary Story -- What I Wish I'd Known Before My Breast Augmentation…read more In 2022, I finally decided to get my breast augmentation -- something I had dreamed about for years. I did my research carefully and chose this clinic because the surgeon promoted a "unique technique" that supposedly eliminates the need for a post-surgical compression bra during recovery. That promise was a huge part of why I trusted him with my body. At first, everything seemed fine. But once the swelling settled and I began to really look at my results, I noticed something was off. My left breast had shifted far to the side -- so much that when I lie flat, it literally slides toward the outer edge of my body. Standing up without a bra, my breasts sit noticeably wide apart. When I put on a bra and pull them together, I love the look. But without it, the symmetry and shape are disappointing -- and completely opposite of what I was told to expect. When I shared my concern during my final follow-up, the surgeon brushed it off with, "Side boob is a good look." Maybe for some women it is, but not when one breast has migrated halfway toward my armpit. That's not style -- that's structure gone wrong. I waited a few years to be sure my body had healed before reaching out again, hoping for an honest conversation about possible correction. Instead, I was told I'd have to pay $190 just for a consultation -- and that they don't offer complimentary post-surgery implant checks, even years later. I had assumed they would at least verify that the implants were still properly positioned and safe. For context, most women are required to wear a post-surgical compression bra (a supportive medical garment that holds the implants in place and helps the chest heal evenly). I wasn't asked to wear one because the surgeon claimed his "no-bra recovery method" made it unnecessary. In hindsight, I wish I had worn one anyway -- it might have prevented my outcome.

I have had Starkey livio AI hearing aides poor to Audibel and they were a wonderful product. But now that Starkey has been creating brands, they are not giving same level of focus on all these brands as they have w the Livio and Evolv AI aides. Now due to damage from poorly fitted and tuned Audibels , I am needing a cochlear implant. The audiology test done yesterday by specialty audiologist at Oregon Clinic found that was way off the mark regarding my audiogram. This may have contributed to my advanced decline of hearing. Audible does not work with cochlear implant as I will need a "Cadillac" of hearing for my left ear that correspond to cochlear implant in my right ear. And all the while I am having to pay $7000 for Audibel hearing that don't match my hearing needs or my audiogram . Also they do not use Hear Ear which is the gold standard for matching your audiogram to your hearing aides and eliminating several trips to the office to have hearing aides constantly retuned. This pertains to Willoughby in Gresham, OR. So what is your response to these issues?
