My friends and I stopped in here during a quick visit to town from our campsite. We also stopped by the general store and bought some fudge which I would recommend over the Cookie Cabin. The guy who rang us up was nice, they had plenty of napkins and silverware available, and the bathroom was nice. Those are the positives. The negatives are that the cookies were terrible. My friend and I split a regular chocolate chip one and the taste was just off. Everyone kept commenting that it tasted like something was wrong with the ingredients. Someone else in our group ordered the brownie cookie and it was dry as could be and disintegrated on their plate. The one person in our group who ordered ice cream on their cookie had the best deal because at least the ice cream was tasty. Our group tried a couple of other types of cookies from the menu but none of them got a thumbs up. We took leftovers back to share with others at camp and the cookies ended up getting thrown away at the end of the trip because nobody wanted to eat them. This was a pleasant way to end the drive up Mount Lemmon. Parking is limited and expect it to be a long line as demand for cookies and pizza is high given the limited options in the area. The cashier was very friendly but I wish they were more prompt due to the long lines. The two of us split the Sampler as the cookies are the size of a plate! Don't let the TikTok's fool you. We'd heard about this place since we moved here and it was really really underwhelming. We waited in line for an hour and barely made it to get a pizza bc their kitchen closes at 4:30. Not only that but their pizza costs $35 which is pretty expensive for just a cheese pizza. Once we got it, it looked like a cartoon pizza - undercooked overly cheesy. The only way this pizza is edible is if you add Parmesan and crushed peppers. We went to try the cookie thinking that will redeem the experience. IT WAS WET! The cookie had been drenched in water somehow and it was mushy as hell. So disgusting. So disappointing. Everyone was super friendly but ... the prices. Ouch! $12 for a stale cookie and ice cream. It's not to say it wasn't a yummy treat, but for $12 that cookie better be the size of my toddler. Boy oh boy I wish this place were better. Outdoor seating is great. The cookies and ice cream are good to average. Everything is pricy but you are also on top of the mountain. How much does elevation affect baking, I don't know. I do love this place especially after riding the mountain, but quality has gone down hill. Now the cookies are pre baked and the pizza, as many others have said are average at best. It pains me to give a classic memory restaurant a three star review but that's all I can give it. I have been here many times but will never return again. I was just there - yesterday afternoon - about an hour before closing. They have giant cookies that I have always found to be quite delicious and loved every bite in spite of the high price tag, but not so anymore. I ordered a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and a peanut butter cookie. I absolutely LOVE cookies but these were some of the WORST I have ever had and at $7.00 each, a giant disappointment. If I had tried these while I was there, I would have demanded my money back. However, I brought the cookies home to share. They were completely dry and stale and simply crumbled apart, totally unlike any cookie I had eaten here before. The white chocolate macadamia nut cookie had NO white chocolate....only some macadamia nuts. Perhaps they ran out of white chocolate? If so, they should have said so. The peanut butter cookie was so dry and crumbly that it was impossible to eat without getting it all over the place. If it hadn't been for the macadamia nuts and the peanuts there would have been no flavor at all. I plan on calling them today....$14.00 plus tax is a lot of money to spend for something so inedible. If I were you, I wouldn't bother to stop. For a business that relies totally on tourism, they had better step it up or lose business. Extremely disappointing, to say the least. There was a line, as always, but there was no social distancing or any masks in sight. When they closed they took all of the trash cans away so there was no where to throw away napkins, etc. When asked about a trash can, a female employee that was leaving the premises, said, "Sorry, you'll have to use the trash can at the Convention Center." Same with the rest rooms. The Convention Center was also closed. UPDATE: After calling the establishment, the manager was extremely rude and told me that I was basically a liar and their cookies are made fresh every day. The locals we talked to on our trip to Tucson said Mt Lemmon was THE thing to do in the area, and that we should stop in and grab a snack at the Cookie Cabin. This shop (among others) sits in Summerhaven, at about 8000' elevation. The shops in general provide a welcome break from the long drive/ride up to the top. Our group ordered a selection of cookies and, being a bit cool outside, found a seat inside. The shop isn't terribly roomy inside, though, and we were often in a way as guests continued to stream in. You're better off eating outside or upstairs whenever possible. We ordered the macadamia nut, chocolate chip, the Rachel, a pumpkin style cookie. They are definitely the tastiest, warmest cookies available on the mountain. But as cookies go, I would say they're pretty middle of the road. They were baked a bit unevenly (between underdone to done), and one was a thicker, almost cake-style cookie. All of them will satisfy a sweet craving. Word to the wise....each cookie is the size of a small plate! Four cookies was too many for a group of 8, with lots of leftovers. Doing it over, we would've just ordered two sampler cookies instead. read more

We went to the cookie cabin yesterday and I was able to get the very last cookie (purchase) before the shop experienced a leak in a pipe or something and had to abruptly shut down. I felt super bad for people waiting for about an hour to get their food but stuff happens. Since I had the last sold cookie on hand, they allowed me to stay outside and eat with my daughter. The Cookie Cabin is a traditional log cabin, artfully crafted and shiny, nestled into the massive rock that is Mt Lemmon. The first thing my family noticed upon arrival were the signs "no running or yelling, that includes children" and the ever popular "unattended children will be given espresso and a free puppy." At least they're up front about it. And since we regularly travel with an infamously loud 18 month old we decided we should probably dine outside. And outside, in their courtyard, it's gorgeous. The pizza - perfect. The breakfast burrito - non-greasy, fully scrumptious. The cookies - are the size of the pizzas and completely excellent! They have a concoction of oatmeal, coconut and butterscotch chips that I believe they call "The Rachael". It should be called "Holy Smokes Amazeballs!" None none of it is cheap, yet all of it is worth it. I can't imagine returning to Mt. Lemmon to camp, to hike, to sight-see, etc, without stopping here. I'll gladly muzzle my children for more yummies. read more

I am in love with Mount Lemmon, as anyone who knows me will tell you. So when I heard that there was something called a "cookie cabin" on it, I thought I had actually found heaven, and knew I had to try it immediately. I loved the environment surrounding the Cookie Cabin; it's everything that you would expect from a business atop Mt Lemmon. There are a bunch of small tables surrounding the cabin itself, whose deck overlooks more tables and a few picnic benches to accommodate for large parties. I was lucky enough to visit on a day where it was sunny with a few clouds here and there, a light breeze was blowing, and it was a perfect 80 degrees outside. Upon walking into the cabin, it was decorated with some old timey posters and what is perhaps the greatest sign I've ever seen of a bear holding cookies that said something along the lines of "the best diet is a cookie in each hand." Based on the environment alone, I would probably rate this place at like 4 stars. Because my friend and I visited on Labor Day weekend, we definitely walked in expecting to have to wait for a while. Because you order before you sit down, the line had stretched out to the deck and down the stairs. The wait itself wasn't too awful -probably about 20 mins- but it was awkward standing on the stairs, because we felt like we were getting in everyone's way. My friend and I ordered a 12 inch pizza with olives, mushrooms, and green bell peppers. The pizza was definitely better than I was expecting it to be, and the toppings were fresh. I especially liked that the bell peppers were sliced really thinly. As an added bonus, all toppings are included in the price of the pizza already. The crust of the pizza was top notch, and we had about half of the pizza left over. She had the peach cobbler, which comes with ice cream and whipped cream, and said that it was top-notch. Cooked fruit creeps me out, so I didn't have any of it, but considering the amount of cobbler she has consumed in her lifetime, I'd definitely take her word on it. I had a chocolate chip cookie, which in retrospect was very ambitious. The cookie was the size of my face. Actually. Unfortunately, it was only mediocre. It wasn't bad, but I feel like it's pretty hard to drastically screw up a standard chocolate chip cookie. It just wasn't great, which is what I was expecting from a place with "cookie" in its name. The prices were my main issue with this place. $15 for a 12-inch pizza seemed a little steep to me, but I was okay with it because that price included toppings, and it ended up being a pretty solid pizza. The desserts, on the other hand, were drastically overpriced. $6 for a mediocre cookie? Next time, I'll just buy a tub of Nestle Tollhouse dough and make them myself. My friend's cobbler was $11. What. How is that even a thing? I mean, it was a decent sized slice of cobbler (maybe about 4 x 3 inches), but $11 is ridiculous. We came in expecting it to be on the pricey side, considering they're on top of a mountain and thus are probably gonna jack up the prices a little bit. But I simply didn't think that any of the food was necessarily worth how much we paid for it. I've definitely had better pizza and cookies for significantly less. read more

Lemmon we ate here and got a pizza (pepperoni, sausage & olive)... and every trip back to Mt. Lemmon means a stop here for some pizza. I honestly didn't expect such a superb pie the first time we came but that's what we got and the flavor has been consistent every trip back. The smell and the name of course lure you into the cookie cabin. The portions are huge and definitely enough to share amongst 4-5 people. The cookies smell amazing but the taste was nothing too special. The cobbler though was really good especially with the vanilla ice cream. The prices though are a bit too much for what you're getting but I guess while you're up there, there isn't too much to choose from. If I'd written this review a year ago, it would have been witty, sarcastic and probably a lot funnier than this one. Back then, the cookie was stale-ish, the price was exhorbitant and the sign out front - something about keeping your spawn in check - was off-putting (probably because it hit too close to home). This time, it was still expensive but the gargantuan chocolate chip cookie was piping hot fresh right out of the oven and the unwelcoming (guilt-inducing) sign was gone! I had a friend of mine come back to Tucson to visit recently. One of the places on her list that she wanted to go to, was the cookie cabin up on the mountain. We drove up the mountain and hit cookie cabin as soon as they open. We ordered a slice of pizza and cookies and a drink. There really is not much seating available, but can tell you that the rocking chairs out on the deck is the best seats in the entire place. The pizza is always amazing, as is the cookies. It's a little bit pricey, but well worth it. We make sure to visit each time we're up on the mountain. read more

One of the best parts of traveling up Mt Lemmon is reaching the Cookie Cabin, hands down! I've had everything from the giant cookies, to the berry cobblers, the hot cocoa, root beer floats, hot dogs, and even their chili. Everything is pretty good. When trying the cookies, go for the sampler. Nothing's better than trying a little bit of every flavor, in one! Also, the berry cobbler is a favorite of mine. Slightly sweet, but the melted ice cream helps balance it out into a heavenly delight. For anyone who is a fan of chili, I recommend that they do try the one they have here. It's delicious, especially during the winter time. This is definitely the type of place to bring first timers to town, the family (both furry and human), or even just a mini getaway out of the city! They have indoor and outdoor seating, so it easily accommodates anyone with pets or large families. During the summer time it's a nice view driving up the mountain and taking pictures, while slowly escaping the summer heat, as the temperature tends to drop the further up you go. (so even if the city is in the 90's, the mountain may reach the higher 60/70's in the afternoon) As for the fall/winter time, it's a beautiful time and place to enjoy the color turning of leaves and to bundle up with your loved ones to a hot cup of cocoa and maybe even share one of their large bowls of chili.
