This is our favorite pizza place in Arizona (and we LOVE pizza). The classic pepperoni is our go to, but we will often order a slice of something else or a personal pizza to compliment the large pepperoni! The restaurant is quite small, but they do have indoor seating as a dine in option. The service is friendly and generally pretty quick! If you're ever craving some pizza, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Post funeral comfort pizza--the staff were so kind to us after attending my mother in law's service. We sat at a quiet table in the back and enjoyed a classic pepperoni was fresh and tasty (13in was more than enough for a couple to share).

Legit pizza. The dough and crust are really good. I noticed they can be inconsistent; I saw a few burnt pies going into boxes for pick up (and no, not normal burnt spots, but burned). The service was fine, everyone seems pretty laid back and chill. The place is small, but clean. I got a diavola (pepperoni) and a margherita pizza (it was half off, margherita Monday). Both pizzas were good, but there was hardly any basil on the margherita pizza. Solid pizza.

I wanted pizza and I have read good things about Fiamme. It was way out of my neighborhood, but I decided to make the trip (about 25 miles). I was very surprised at the "dining room" as it consisted of a few 2-person tables along the wall and a couple of multi-person tables next to the pizza oven and prep area. One server was there and she was pleasant but not real fast. The lunch special said 1 personal pizza, salad and drink for one price. It did not say it was for the margherita pizza only. I had to pay an upgrade charge for pepperoni and additional charge for a few mushrooms. There were only a couple of choices for a salad and I chose the Caesar. My salad was brought out first. Lettuce and cheese were very plentiful, dressing less so. It was okay. My pizza was pretty good, but not outstanding. There were a couple of burnt spots on the crust, but not a major deal. The drinks were canned sodas, no refills. It seems this place is expecting more take out business and not dine-in business. I don't do take out so I was a bit disappointed that the ambiance was that of a dark bar with no atmosphere. Overall, price was a bit high for what I got. $25+ inc. tax & tip with the zero ambiance. The one restroom is gender-neutral and not very inviting either. This is a place that I won't revisit.

Delicious!!! Highly recommend! What a wonderful crust!!! Flavor - yummy sauce! We picked up and were impressed by the 18" pizza size!

We arrived here on a Sunday night. There are about 8 tables 6 two tops, a 4 top and a 6 top. When you arrive you will literally walk through the kitchen to be seated. That was a bit odd. Colas are served in cans at $4 each. Teas are $3 each. You do get a glass of ice. We started with single slices, I had the standard slice of pepperoni my son a margarita slice. Pepperoni was spicy, lots of cheese, however, the bottoms were both very black, an indication that the wood fire over needs to be "swept". For our main pie, we went with the carne, a meat lovers delight. The dough was light and airy, good sausage, light sauce but not too light, quite spicy. The only downfall, incredibly greasy in the underside, but then again it is all meat. It is a really weird vibe. We were sat so close to the kitchen that the staff was folding pizza boxes right next to our table. All in all a decent pie. A solid B-. I Likely would have graded higher if there were additional menu items such as a few pasta dishes and an option for refills on drinks. But the place just works.

Great pizza! Love the dough. Extremely disappointed with the dine in experience, felt like I was crammed in a hallway while trying to balance everything on our tiny table. Metal cold chairs. Soda in a can and no liquor. Would never dine in again but would get takeout!

Made the trip from Vail, running errands to check the chew on this highly rated pie. Tucked in at the end of a Safeway corner mall off Swan, you'll find plenty of parking around. Narrow entryway leads to a hallway of tables for two and a couple of larger tables with a pie station in the front window and a galley kitchen in the back. It's frosty inside which is great for the cooks so grab a layer or 2, even the hubs was ashiver haha Our server was super, so polite, checked on us numerous times, and even offered us drinks to go for the trip home. The $15 Lunch Combo Special runs to 5PM daily, yes even weekends, and it can't be beat with ANY 9" pie + either Caesar, Caprese or Arugula salad + any of their soft drinks including San Pellegrino,Mexican Coke, Soda Cans & espresso/cappuccino but broken that day; we were trying to tame that in-house chill haha. Note that you get real metal cutlery and glass with ice to drink the soda cans, a much appreciated lovely upgrade to your dining experience over many a quick pie slice shop with plastic and paper cups. It definitely makes you relax, sit a while and enjoy the whole experience. Pizza crust is slightly charred black and bubbled, a great sign; it had a slight crisp but middle a bit under and kinda soggy. Prefer more sauce and for the sauce to be a bit more tomato forward and less cheese so sauce comes through. Ingredients were super fresh and the side salad was huge and lightly dressed with lemon vinaigrette, cherry t's, pine nuts & shaved parm ($$ ingredients). As Portland part-timers, we have an abundance of excellent pies to compare to, and so far Falora and Empire are our faves. We'll hit the Detroit deep slices soon. Fiamme is a tad far to check out again quickly but if running around the Foothills it will be on my radar to give it a go again and ask for more sauce, less cheese and to char it up, blistering it all over. Great folks, excellent service, cook/owner? thanked us for coming in, relaxed dining experience for a strip mall stop, with a chill dining room for sure to hide from the heat lol. Thank You Fiamme; we love supporting local!

Very well balanced, a lot of effort went into it. We had 30 min wait in small upstairs area for our table on a Thursday night. They don't have much waiting area, most nights you have to wait outside. It was over a 100 after the sun went down, so I'm glad there was room available. Ordered the vodka chicken Parmesan and the burrata. They were both amazing. The pasta that came with the chicken Parmesan was super tender light, tasted fresh. Their pasta is all handmade daily. All the ingredients were simple and fresh for the burrata. The pesto was chunky and gave a good texture contrast. The tomatoes were very flavorful, olive oil and balsamic were all high quality. Very flavorful dish. I liked that you could order a half order. We wanted to try it, with two entrees a full order would have been too much. I would definitely return for both. Tried the pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño pizza and it was good as well. It's very toasty and dark on the crust, made in a a very high temperature pizza oven. We had some leftover pizza to take home. I was definitely more impressed with their pasta, good handmade pasta at an affordable price is hard to find. Would definitely go back if we are ever in the area and try other items. My sister ordered a salad and she had to modify some things due to her auto immune condition. It got screwed up, but the server was so apologetic and they fixed it. It wasn't the end of the world to us. She kinda deals with this all the time since her diet is super restrictive. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, checking in with us. This place is a true gem. It's not cheap, or expensive. Mid range, but feels like you get a good value for the quality and quantity.

I originally went in planning to get pizza, but then I spotted the vegetarian lasagna and immediately changed my mind. Ten layers of vegetables and ricotta between homemade pasta? Instant winner. It was honestly the best vegetarian lasagna I've ever had--and the best part is that I got to enjoy it without spending hours making it myself! I also ordered the bread with olive oil, garlic, and green onions as a dipping sauce, along with a glass of their house wine during happy hour. Everything was delicious, and the whole meal felt like such a treat. If you're looking for a great meal at Penelope Pizza, don't overlook the vegetarian lasagna. It absolutely stole the show for me!

After grabbing a drink next door at Sidecar, I was pleased to see that Falora was open just a few steps away. It's a tiny place, but we were able to be sat immediately at the communal table. It was definitely a refreshing choice for this hot summer day. We also split a couple of pizzas: the marinara and the Margherita. Both of these were topped with fresh basil and the crust was perfect perfectly crispy. Like all woodfired pizza, it does have a little bit of a char to it, but I love that. We made reservations and I'm glad we did as this is an extremely small space. We were seated at the bar where they have their kitchen. Generally we don't like sitting at the bar but it was nice to watch the crew make food. It's impressive what they can do with this small space. Very small menu- My husband and I are sober so we are always looking for spots with good NA/ mocktail options but it fell short here so we just got a bottle of sparkling water. We ordered the butter pecan salad which was amazing. Loved everything about it, I was hesitant that they only had butter lettuce but I think I appreciated the soft lettuce with the crunch of the apple and pecans in it. The dressing was phenomenal. For a pizza we got just the pepperoni, I saw a lot of margarita pizzas with pepperoni being made and I think we would've liked that option better with the fresh chunks of mozzarella. The cheese they use for the regular pizza is a very strong flavor, probably a nice aged parm so that really came through. We are sauce people so it was hard to appreciate the sauce with the strong profile of the cheese which is why I think we would've liked the margarita pizza better We had the panna cotta for desert and my husband LOVED it. They prep it in advance in cute little mason jars. Overall not a bad spot. Service was great, salad was phenomenal. I think if we would've had a table and maybe tried a different pizza this would've made our top 5 spots for pizza.

We started with the ABG salad that surprised me because I'm usually not a big fan of Gorgonzola, but the combination of green apple, pecan brittle, and cheese worked really well together and made for a great balance of flavors. For the pizza, we ordered the mushroom pizza and added pepperoni. The sauce was excellent I believe was some sort of a garlic/oil white sauce the mushroom portion was generous which I absolutely love, and the crust was exactly what I look for crunchy on the outside while still soft and slightly sweet inside. My only minor complaint with the toppings is that the $4 pepperoni add on felt a bit light, we only had a 2 or 3 slices per piece. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that our pizza was just slightly overcooked. The bottom was charred all the way around; wasn't burnt to the point of sending it back, but definitely left in the oven a minute or two longer than it needed to be. It wasn't busy when we visited, and it seemed like the employee rotating pizzas was a little more focused on chatting with FOH coworkers than keeping an eye on the oven. I've worked in pizza restaurants for nearly a decade, so I may be a bit more particular than most customers. Realistically, if our pizza had come out even a minute earlier, it would have been a 10/10 meal. That said, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. The quality is there, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.
