I was in search of a new dentist and came across this dentist's office as it was fairly close to me. I completely forgot to check Yelp! before making an appointment for a general cleaning/checkup/x rays, and I honestly am shocked at most of the negative reviews. I had a great experience with Mount Prospect Dental Care. Dr. Ali was excellent, he was very thorough and takes time to explain everything that is being performed on your teeth and allows you to make informed decisions on your dental health. There was no upselling or anything like this, only what was medically necessary was performed. Dr. Ali's support staff were also great and very friendly. I'd recommend Mount Prospect Dental if you're looking for a new dentist. read more

I called today for an appt. I told receptionist I did not want X-rays. Just a cleaning and exam. Made appt for 3:00 today. I got there 10 mins early. It was past 3:15 till I got in a dental chair. I was told they needed X-rays. I said I didn't want X-rays. Some one else came in same story. Then the dentist came in same story. Then he said he could do a partial exam and the cleaning. He then came back and said he couldn't. read more

The place is high priced and poor service. They take X-rays and dental photos to sell high priced crowns. Multiple procedures are performed in a very short time resulting in poor quality work. After $5500 procedures, to fill few cavities and two crowns, I was getting sensations in two teeth that were fine before. To correct the new exposed teeth during the procedures,, they wanted more money! Not impressed by their routine 6 month cleaning. Work did not appear to be of the quality I was getting from my now retired dentist. Personal touch is missing and focus is on profits. I have now changed to a new dentist. read more

I went here twice and I don't have plans on going back based on my 2nd visit. I had and outstanding balance which was paid prior to my arrival. When I arrived I was told the balance was still there. (Paulina) the front desk girl not a clue what she is doing I wasn't thrilled to hear this and went about getting copies of the cancelled check. I advised the staff that I didn't want to have a cavity filled that day. I was told my insurance would cover 80% of my fillings. One thing that slowly started to show is the staff tries to upsell and they know for what your insurance benefits are. I even received a letter advising me what I had left to spend for this year. I've never had a dentist do this in the past on one hand it is nice to know the benefits but not have them shoved down my throat. I mean really I will get it done on my terms not because your office is slow and needs my money. My primary reason for not returning is mismanagement of the payment that they did in fact receive. There was no apology only that "mistakes happen". I went here originally on a referral and the person that refers me no longer goes there either. Dr. Gulati and her staff are vultures to say the least. Id advise to get a second opinion not likely that I would recommend anyone going there for a pleasant experience. read more

My husband went here for an exam and a cleaning. All went well until they gave him an estimate for $13,000 worth of work to be done but wouldn't let him take the estimate home so that we could discuss it. We decided to get a second opinion and he had to go back to their office and sign off to get the x-rays sent to the other dentist so that we wouldn't have to retake them. They charged us $25 to email the x-rays and it took 2 days and 8 phone calls to get them sent and that was only after I threatened to contact the American Dental Association. We have never encountered worse service from a supposedly professional facility. read more

I recently moved to the area and needed to go to the dentist for a root canal. Visited Mt. Prospect Dental Care and was happy with that seemed like decent service. The hygienist was a bit pushy with "deep cleaning" rather than a normal cleaning which my other dentist never had an issue doing. Not to mention the "deep cleaning" was $80 per tooth and she quoted me like 5+ teeth. Kindly declined, and proceeded with the normal cleaning which was basically her scraping my teeth for 5 minutes and a brush. On to the root canal, they quoted me a ridiculous amount...over $1500...I declined. Said I'd rather do something more cost effective. The doctor ended up giving me a quote which had it set up to where I would pay ~$200 for the root canal and a filling over 2 visits working with my insurance as it was to reset in Jan. and this was end of Nov. That sounded a lot more manageable since I am a student on an extremely fixed income. So we go ahead with everything, I pay the decided amount and have half of a tooth with a filling. The part the doctor left out was that I would have to get a crown which costs around ~$800 in about 2 months time. Unfortunately, I was not able to afford this with such short notice so i decidedly stayed with the half tooth and filling. About 3 months later, I receive a bill in the mail for $120? I call and speak to the front desk girl, who passes me to the manager. Who doesn't call me back for 3 days. Finally gives me a call and says actually, it's not $120....it's $200+! Having worked in a medical office before, I get how claims run and how it takes time to process. What I did not appreciate was the condescending manager and the fact that the decided amount I was to pay...was actually double. All in all, I'm very upset and feel deceived by this office. I feel as if they tried to push me quickly into the surgery and made it sound good where it actually has screwed me over in the long run. I understand healthcare is expensive and I am willing to pay for the services done but I hate the way it was dealt with and how I've felt deceived. I would not recommend going here if you're on a fixed budget. read more

She tells me my front teeth are going to fall out due to root decay, walks out of the room, leaves me there for 30-40 minutes, I finally go ask her how much longer it will be, she had totally forgotten about me. So did you have a question about something she asks,,,, ummm ya..... I ask to see previous x-rays to see if this had been progressing for awhile and they never bothered to look into it. Wanted a second opinion, they charge you and make you come in to pick them up. Should of at least said you could put a retaining brace in for extra support. Maybe tell me about teeth implants, bridges, etc which I had to research myself. Left feeling like I was going to be a toothless oger. Also the staff is really bad about returning phone calls. read more
