I pulled over to the closest service station, Springdale automotive on Westport Road. The manager Doug, greeted me and explained that the mechanics were at lunch and would be back soon. Doug asked me a series of questions, he had experience with this make and model. At this point the mechanics were back from lunch and Doug asked if I would relax in the waiting room. I am not used to comfortable seating, clean bathroom, free pop corn, free cold soft drinks and bottled water. It didn't take long to discover the front desk was organized and the mechanics bays were clean and organized. The mechanics wasted no time getting my car up on the rack and hooked up to there computer. During the computer scan the mechanic was performing a visual inspection of the car. Meanwhile, Doug kept me updated on the progress. I also noticed several text messages from Springdale up dating me on my cars movement through this process. The total time of this unexpected event was less than 45 minutes, extremely efficient!! The car was off the rack and the test was complete. Doug and the mechanic both took time to help me understand the computer scan and the options for the shifting issue. Springdale emailed and provided a hard copy printout of there findings. Again both Doug and the mechanic made sure I understood the scan, the visual inspection and the printout/email. Other items needing repair or attention were found during the scan and inspection. I was unaware of these issues but were clear on the report. AT NO POINT, did Doug or the mechanic become pushy or introduce any high pressure sales tactics. What could have been a long drawn out wasted day dealing with transmission issues turned into a GREAT experience!!!!!! Thanks Springdale automotive Westport rd. Great job and thanks again. Mike P.

My experience with Springdale Automotive was absolutely infuriating!! I scheduled an appointment in…read moreadvance and took my vehicle in for two routine repairs and one specific item. 1. It was never mentioned that my SUV would be fully inspected including photos and videos - this cost me time. Later it was explained to me that even if it's only been a couple of weeks since you've had your vehicle in their shop they'll perform this inspection...unless you opt out. (Personally, I think it's a sneaky way of trying to find something else to charge a customer for.) 2. No one called me about the repairs. Instead, I received two separate emails which apparently I didn't understand because the documents consisted of a sub total, a sub total and another sub total. When I called to clarify, I repeatedly told the guy on the phone that I only wanted to spend $x,xxx.xx and he confirmed that this would cover the original requested repairs. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle the invoice was over $1,200 more than the amount agreed to on the phone - WHOA! - apparently because they went ahead and "did everything." 3. Springdale Automotive forces you to purchase their $149.95 discount card. I tried to refuse it twice, but the woman behind the counter was insistent even after I told her I wouldn't be back nor did I know of anyone who would want it. (Personally, I think this forced purchase is wrong on so many levels.) 4. It took four full days for my SUV to be ready and no one called me to let me know when it was done. I had to call twice. 5. Whenever I called and talked to one of the guys on the phone I got a lot of "probably" and "should be" answers. (Red flag!) 6. The two routine repairs seemed to have been done well, but the third item didn't get addressed or fixed. **I will never, EVER, be a repeat customer and I certainly wouldn't recommend the Springdale Automotive chain to anyone. Fortunately, a family member referred me to a local mom-and-pop repair shop that they use. (Note: I delayed writing this review to see if the owner would contact me as indicated. I'm not surprised that it's been crickets.)

Two days later the rear right wheel bearings locked up and destroyed my rear axle. I had to take it to another shop to fix it, after I had to search the country for parts that were destroyed. They started with the easiest and least expensive option to troubleshoot my problem, and did not try to sell me on thousands of dollars of things that might be the issue up front. It turns out, thankfully, the easiest solution worked, and I was able to pick up my car the same day. Few places, in my experience, provide this kind of conscientious service any more in the automotive industry. I am really grateful to have found them.
