With my old Makita batteries no longer taking a charge and not able to get new batteries anymore, rebuilding was my only option. MTO Battery did excellent repairs on them as they hold a charge and work like new again. My only complaint, and it's a big enough complaint to knock the rating down to three stars, is when I was on their website placing the order I was prompted to leave a tip for the battery rebuild. I had two EGO batteries rebuilt by MTO in March of 24. A 2.0Ah (upgrade to 2.5Ah) and a 7.5Ah. Both were older 2nd gen batteries. I have been happy with both rebuilds. The electronics on the 2.0Ah died about two weeks ago. This of no fault of MTO. Total age on the battery was right at 6.5 years. The 7.5Ah battery is still running fine. I have it running in a Peak Power two battery mower with a newer 7.5Ah EGO bought about the same time as the rebuild. Charge range and charge time are almost exactly same so far. So we will see which one goes first. Before I send any more EGO batteries to be rebuilt by MTO I will check the original manufacture date on the battery. If it's 5 years old or older I probably will not send it for rebuild. 5-7 years seems to be about the life span of the control boards in the batteries. I had a few questions about shipping and called MTO. They were very helpful. Turn around time was very quick. The cost is about a third less than the cost of a new EGO brand battery. You will need to be careful when getting a -Good Price- online for an EGO brand battery. Some are 1st, 2nd, or old manufactured 3rd gen batteries. They have been sitting on the shelf a while and they are trying to get rid of new old stock. Also EGO will not warranty batteries bought from third party, non-authorized dealers. read more

I found no one in my area that could or would rebuild my battery pack. MTO did it with no questions and made the process really easy. Turn around after they received my pack was just a week. It was delivered double packed and protected. This is a battery I have had rebuilt 3 other times. I have to say this is the most professional job with the best final pack seal for a really reasonable price. I have not yet installed the pack and tried it out, but if the process and product delivered to me are any indication of how the unit will work, I am sure I will be delighted. read more

My battery pack for my Velux solar powered sunlights stopped holding a charge. Local stores and online both wanted a lot of money for a new OEM battery pack and I needed three. I sent a battery that has been discontinued to be redone. I never received the battery back and they only refunded me the money I paid to have the battery fixed. Now I am out a battery and have no way of buying a new one. They told me to "talk to the postmaster". I contracted with them for repack the battery; they contracted for the delivery to get it back to me. Do not send anything that you cannot afford to lose because they take no accountability for it. I used them because they got great reviews. My experience was completely the opposite. They did what they were legally required to do, but they did not do what was right. If there is a question between them and another company, I recommend the other one. read more

An interesting business - they rebuild rechargeable batteries used in a variety of tools. In my case it was a rechargeable battery for a handheld VHF marine transceiver, which was some 15-20 years old. It had died and, despite web searches, I could find no replacement being sold. As I searched, this company came up. It turns out they can rebuild almost any rechargeable battery. I mentioned this to a friend who had recently thrown away a bunch of old but usable power tools the rechargeable batteries of which were no longer available. He was crushed as the tools had still been very usable. In my case I mailed the battery to them and it was back in about a week, rebuilt and working fine (in fact they say they had upgraded the capacity). The rebuilt battery cost $42 including return postage. That's much better than buying a new radio (cost from $100 to $300). Sorry, Standard Horizon (radio maker), but I'm a cheap b**tard! Good communications, good price and seemingly excellent output with this business. I don't know whether I'll ever have to use them again, but if there is a need, I won't hesitate to use them. I researched battery rebuilders for my Ingersoll Rand cordless 1/2" drive impact. Their name came up. I emailed them and within about an hour I had a reply. They gave me a link to follow and instructions. I made the purchase, mailed my batteries USPS and they arrived on a Friday at their facility. On Tuesday I had an email saying they had shipped. They arrived today, a week after they received them. I put them on the charger, less than 5 minutes they were charged. Great communication, great pricing and fast service. I had two batteries rebuilt for the price of a new one I had found. Don't throw away your batteries, send them to MTO Battery and have them rebuilt. Thanks MTO! read more
