I do not have enough great words to describe the crawfish experience at Mud Bugs in splendora. Our server, blonde Paige, was outstanding, polite, and very attentive. Vanessa, the manager, stopped by to chat with us. Both ladies were so professional. We got the Sunday special. $65 for 10lbs with two corn, and two sausage. We ordered extra sides plus sausage. We chose 5 lbs of Louisiana seasoning and 5 lbs of Texas spicy. I'm not a fan of the Texas dusting but these crawfish have changed my mind entirely. Both were flavorful and spicy. Make my lips burn a little, but not so hot my nose is running, kind of good. Brushes in the sink to clean your hands and nails. Huge bonus! Size was crazy! This was the best cajun restaurant I've ever been too! The food was apparently prepared by staff that are experts in the cuisine. We were seated promptly by friendly knowledgeable staff. We waited an hour for a table. Which was fine because we understood it was the dinner hour. We got sat at a table in the corner that was not conducive to our party (we had 2 little children) and we had to squeeze in and out to go to the restroom. We ordered our food and then continued to sit for an additional 30 minutes before they were able to move us to a larger table. While we sat at the larger table, we watched the table we previously sat at get served their meal (which included crawfish). We were then approached 20 minutes later to let us know they could not fulfill our crawfish order. They offered us $1 off to comeback during the week - seems like they could have done a little bit more being that the name of your establishment was "Mudbugs". They knew when we sat down they would not be able to fulfill our order. But to make us sit there for the additional time and offer less than an adequate service recovery is honestly the worst part. Great little hole in the wall hidden in Splendora!! We are new to the town and stopped by for the first time last weekend. WOW WHAT A SURPRISE!! awesome mud bugs and the fixings. Not too spicy not to bland, just right. The boiled shrimp are amazing. Beyond the great atmosphere, food and music the owners and employees are the most inviting and friendly bunch of small town folk you could meet. It felt like we were coming over for Sunday dinner.
