I went against my better judgment after reading the negative reviews and decided to give them a try anyway unfortunately, it was an epic failure from the start. Upon entering, the floors were sticky and the entire place reeked of smoke from the cigar lounge next door. We also had to wait while the staff tried to figure out seating. We ordered two drinks and an appetizer, but only one drink was brought out. After 30 minutes, the second drink still hadn't arrived. Our waitress Lilly said she would check on it but it never came, and she eventually disappeared altogether. We asked for a manager twice, and no one ever came. Just confusion. The staff seemed completely out of it. The food was gross, the drinks were worse, and everything was wildly overpriced for the quality. This was our first visit. It's in a shopping plaza so there's parking and it's a large venue. We got there after 6 or 7 pm and we didn't have to wait. The air smells smoky but it's got a good vibe with music playing and the bar area fills up first. I had a lavender drink with gin that I really enjoyed but it was a little pricy at $16. I had the grilled chicken $18 with fried sweet potatoes and rice and beans. The container for the rice and beans was very hot to the touch. I wanted to transfer it to my main plate so I wouldn't have to reach over the rectangular plate. While the plate was pretty it does move a lot as you eat off it or cut your food. The food was filling. The rice had some crunchy bits but I know some people like that for the crunch. I got to try the fried pork chops. I liked the taste of the breading, it was flavorful. As we were leaving the lights dimmed. There's a stage which made me wonder if there was entertainment later. We didn't stay later to find out. read more

My husband and I went today for lunch. We almost walked out as soon as we walked in due to the stale smell of smoke. I don't fault the restaurant itself--it seems to be coming from the cigar lounge next door and has likely settled into the walls. The food presentation overall was nice, which is the main reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. Unfortunately, the fried catfish platter and Loaded Cajun Catfish were both disappointing. The fish had a strong earthy, fishy flavor. Catfish is typically mild and slightly sweet. That kind of taste usually indicates it wasn't fresh, wasn't cleaned properly, or was farmed in muddy water. I tried multiple times to eat it - especially given it was $28 - but just couldn't. My husband agreed it was strong, though he managed to finish his by covering it in ketchup. The macaroni and cheese looked amazing in the online photos, but it didn't live up to expectations. It was overly salty, and the Cajun cream sauce overpowered everything else. As for the ambiance, it wasn't what I expected. I understand it's a bar and grill, but it felt more like a club than a Cajun-style restaurant. Based on the name and menu, I was hoping for a New Orleans vibe with Cajun charm. Sadly, it missed the mark. And the server only knew I was with the party because I told her. A premenu was set for $65 each for the party. However due to a recent surgery I am unable to eat a full four course meal. I ask if I could just buy a gumbo and drink. I was told I would be charged $65. Wow! I live in the area and this was my first time coming. This is a nice black restaurant that we were referred to. The ambience is nice with nice music in the background. Let's start off with our drinks, FIRE!!! Our bartender Kiara is very energetic and can pour a mean drink! We ordered two different entrées and when I tell you, the food is on point! For them to have the word "Orleans" in the title of the restaurant, I expect there to be some flavor and heat. We were not disappointed. It took a little while for one of our plates to get to us, but I can honestly say that the food was very much fresh out of the fire. It was worth the wait. The prices are reasonable. We decided to try this place and the workers were so welcoming. The service was great. However, the food made both myself and my husband sick. He has not been sick from food in over 10 years. He has a strong stomach and we eat healthy and try to avoid cheap, GMO or artificial foods. The sauce and fried food was greasy and we ate different meals...not sure what kind of grease they use. Maybe the kitchen is not clean enough? We don't know but we both had stomach cramps and 3 days of the squirts...not cool. The other thing is that it is expensive if you want a veggie with your meal because mine did not come with the 2 sides like the menu states...we were told only 1 for the catfish. The food tasted good. It just made us sick hours later. We won't be back. read more

We try to support new businesses and new places in our area; however, I was very disappointed in this place. It is the first week, so maybe they will read this and make adjustments. The atmosphere was okay; they had the Texans game on and music playing from a speaker. The air conditioning system was extremely loud and we were unable to hear the game at times. I would suggest deciding if you are going to show games with volume or play music, it can't be both. The service was mediocre, our waitress was also the bartender and we were left unseen at times. As I stated in my picture, we ordered drinks and fried pickles immediately after being seated, the drinks came out quickly - it took 45 minutes for the fried pickles. Staff awareness is suggested. Additionally, the menu specifies "crawfish etoufeè" "shrimp etoufeè" - my fiancé ordered crawfish etoufeè because he is allergic to shrimp. After 30 minutes the etoufeè arrived...it was shrimp AND crawfish etoufeè. That should be specified on the menu. The taste was horrible, REAL etoufeè is NOT light. My boyfriend isn't creole but he knew it tastes like porridge and not etoufeè. Overall, maybe this was a rushed opening, maybe it was a soft opening. Whatever the case. I pray you all make a turn around but this was NOT upscale dining. read more
