This place used to be good. Now... not so much. Crawfish were extremely hard to peel. Just turned to mush. ZERO flavor on anything. There was zero flavor on the crawfish. After eating them i wish they had been too salty just to have something other than bland nothing. I ordered the spicy that are supposed to be soaked longer and again...no flavor. The sides you order have zero seasonings on them. Corn...bland....sausage...bland. Just an overall terrible experience that made being swarmed by flies even more awful. read more

This is our 2nd time visiting this restaurant and I was a bit disappointed this time around. Crawfish spice wasn't spicy at all, tasty more salty than spicy. Red beans and rice were good, I'm use to a thicker consistency, but the broth was good, BUT the bacon in red beans and rice was a no for me. The waitress was a doll, no complaints on her at all, BUT to be charged 20% gratuity off the bat for a party of 5 is a bit much. We're a family of 5, 3 of them being kids. We ordered 2 kids meals, which seem to be microwaved items, not much work goes into that, so to be charged 20% gratuity because 5 people are "eating" is a bit much. this place has been our spot for years, we drive about 45 minutes now since we've moved from the area. normally I would rate them 5 stars but this last time we went for Mother's Day and the crawfish was on the smaller side which was surprising given its middle of May. service was pretty slow and I think it's because they were just very busy and possibly understaffed. our server Yesenia was very sweet and apologized for the service, like I said I think it was just because she was swamped. hopefully next time will be better. but all in all still our favorite place for crawfish and the bounce house is a hit with our kiddo every time read more

We have been to Crawfish Kings many times. It is very family oriented. They always have a bounce house for the kids. It's BYOB. They do serve soda and tea in large glasses. It has outdoor and indoor seating with heaters in the outdoor part if needed. Crawfish is great and comes in a variety of "heats." It is cooked in spices and comes with "sprinkle" on the side (medium heat). The butter dipping sauce is not real butter. They do a special sauce for dipping which I enjoy. Boiled shrimp is well prepared too. We have not enjoyed the red beans and rice. They last time we ordered it, it was all water. Haven't tried much else. read more

We were craving some crawfish... what's new? Since Crawfish Shack wasn't open yet we decided to give Crawfish Kings a shot. We were seated right away. They have family style seating so you could be at the table with people you don't know. When we got there it wasn't crowded and we were sat at one end of the table and another couple was at the other end. Our server was quick to come and take our drink order and gave us a few to look over the menu. The menu consisted of your normal New Orleans items. They also had platters that had a few items on them so you can have a little bit of other things besides crawfish. We settled on a platter that had crawfish and gumbo. We got 5 lbs of crawfish to share and a bowl of gumbo. We ordered our crawfish med because... well... some days I can be a wimp. It didn't take long for us to get our order. The crawfish was nice and hot. They serve it with butter and there is extra seasoning on the table if you so desire. First I decided to taste the gumbo. It was EH. Next time I'll skip on the gumbo and just stick to the crawfish. It was very thin and tasted watered down to me. Next up was the crawfish. It was pretty good. Not the best I'd ever had... but it was good. There weren't over done which in my book is a HUGE plus. I'm surprised at how many restaurants over cook crawfish. I do have to note that next time I'll order spicy. This time I just ended up adding more spice on my own. The corn and potatoes were also good. We added a link of sausage to our order that I really wish I would have just left off. I wasn't a fan. I would go back for sure... especially because they don't have the huge lines that the crawfish shack has and to me they are quite comparable. read more

Wow, had some good med size crawfish tonight. It was our first visit here and will add it to our list for future boiled crawfish outings. The crawfish were good med size and fairly easy to peel. Could use more butter in the book to make it easier to peel. The wait wasn't to bad and they had live music which added to the experience. Definitely a family place. The service was also on point. This place is lame. They only have 1 boiling pot operating on a busy Friday night. We waited an hour for our crawfish to arrive and when they did, they were small and our corn was still frozen. Folks at the same table were served at the same time as we were although they were seated just minutes before. Although this place is closer, we'll drive a few miles further to the Crawfish Shack. Live sack price was high but that's to be expected for early season. The death rate of crawfish we were told would be about 18% which we could live with but after getting them home just down the road we found over 50% to be dead maybe closer to 60% incredible disappointing experience we like to shop the small businesses but HEB really came through for us with a much better price and about a 5% dead rate! read more
