Although the food is good and the waitress is lovely, my fiance and I have had bad experiences with Muddy Run. We came in today and there was no one to seat us, and no bartender behind the bar. They lacked employment and it showed. It took us 30 minutes to be seen and gotten waters! I was hoping to use this place for my wedding rehearsal but never gotten far with their caterer! Never heard back about the prices after playing phone tag for months. I hope this place gets more staff and works on being more efficient. read more

When I went in there was somebody already waiting at the desk to get us immediately. The service was really quick and my server was kind. The place was really clean. Stumbled upon this little gem after hitting Thousand Steps. The service was prompt with one waitress mid day. The drinks were ordered quick and came out promptly. My kids are iced tea drinkers and we feel the iced tea was fresh brewed and delicious. People around us with interesting cocktails that looked delicious. We marveled at the orders that were being served around us. Our food came quickly and was very tasteful. We devoured flatbreads and wraps. Definitely will be back and going for the big pretzel, wings, and nachos for some apps. read more

Muddy Run is the most fitting dive for this small town. And a convenient walk from my family home. A small selection is nothing to frown at. They have a few interesting beers but otherwise it's the mainstream basics. Think Bud, Corona, Miller, Michelob. Of course they can hook you up with some liquor too - straight or mixed. But don't expect anything fancy. The best whiskey they had was Jameson Black Barrel. My mom was disappointed that Patrón was not an option either. To make up for it, we learned a new trick. Pop the top off a Corona and pour a shot of tequila in the neck. Smooths it out real nice. Add a lime and you can practically smell the ocean. They have a grill too for bar style eats. (Think fried.) There's really only two tables of any size, the rest is bar seating. Towards the back some of those computer games where you can play for money. I'm not a big gambler, but I did win a little something. read more

This is the second and last time I will ever eat here. I ordered soup and salad, cream of mushroom soup, and I received French onion, which I would normally like. The waitress apologized and brought the correct one. While I waited I tried the French onion, who the hell puts sugar in French onion. I got the correct soup and it was like getting a mouth full of salt. All this after waiting over 30 minutes to even place our order. My wife asked for onion rings and got French fries, unsalted. Does anyone check orders before they are sent out, or even taste what they are cooking? We also had to ask for napkins. The live music they had playing was defining at over 90 decibels, sitting with my back to them and over 30 feet away, on the other side of the bar. waited 40 minutes only got drinks ordered. Two sodas came to table but not draft beer that was poured on bar. After 10 minutes I questioned waitress if that was my beer sitting on bar, she said yes. I asked to have it replaced due to getting warm. I watched her tell the bartender to replace it with a fresh cold beer, she laughed took it to tap gave it a splash and handed it back. If you're in Huntingdon Pa and want to grab some great food, definitely try Muddy Run Tavern. They have amazing wings, great sauce flavors and excellent service. I personally love the "Piggyback" sauce. They also have specialty fries that come covered in my favorite sauce. This place is in an old hardware store, very cool inside! A must try! Second trip to Muddy Run and may be the last. We are in town 3 times a year camping at the lake and we try to support some of the local establishments in Huntingdon when here. Typical tavern/bar food offered. Along with steaks. Tonight I ordered wings because the table near us had them and the looked delicious. I ordered a dozen bone in Cajun dry rub. When they came out I knew I was in trouble. To say they were crispy is an understatement. To say they were dry is an understatement. There was no 'rub'. The Cajun seasoning was sprinkled on. Things things most have been under the warmer for hours and when an order came back for a table they must have just taken a dozen, threw them in the basket and threw the seasoning on them. Worst wing I have ever had. They were dry. I love cooking wings at home and I Do not consider myself a great cook. But, I can certainly do better than how these were delivered to the table. I will say they looked nice but chicken jerky would have been a better description. They have to do better than this. Not sure if they're going to get a second chance. read more

I can honestly say that the service has gotten worse (slower with long periods of check ins) and the food is worse. Tonight we ordered a meal that was well undercooked (not cooked all the way through) and was cold. It's unfortunate that this will be our last time visiting them. Weird that the sign out front says Miller's. Food was average, took forever to get our overpriced food. All of which I could have overlooked. What got me was, when you walk in there is a Thin Red Line flag and a Thin Blue Line flag. The Thin Blue Line flag was hung backwards with the Union (Blue field with stars) to the right. As a Law Enforcement officer and Vet, this was unacceptable. When I nicely said something to the manager, he was disrespectful and blew me off. If you are going to display the United States flag... Walked in at noon. There were 3 tables of people and a few at the bar. So, not crowded at all. We waited 10 to 15 minutes for someone to get our drink orders. Another 10 minutes until we actually our drinks (simple ones too - a lemonade, an iced tea, and a soda). I had to send the lemonade back because there were black things of varying sizes floating in it. Took another 5 minutes to get a new one. The iced tea was supposed to be raspberry flavored, but there was no recognizable flavor to it at all. It tasted like powdered Lipton tea. Placed our order (2 orders of wings with one side of cheese fries, and a buffalo chicken wrap with a side of regular fries). That's it . . . pretty freaking simple. We waited about 20 minutes and the waitress came out with the cheese fries. Nothing else. They weren't an appetizer they were a side dish to the wings. Ate all of those and 15 to 20 minutes later the rest of the meals arrived. The wings looked like they had been frozen, nothing fresh here. One of the wings orders was for Garlic Parm Wings. There was NO garlic parm sauce/dressing anywhere. The wings were swimming in what was very clearly bottled Italian salad dressing. The only truly edible item was the buffalo chicken wrap. Their menu states that they have pulled pork fries, but we found out it's NOT pulled pork, it's cubed beef. Our table rocked constantly, even after we folded up the paper towels they use as napkins and put them under the legs. Another group of three ladies came in a moved to new tables twice because their tables were rocking as well. I was told that as few as 2 years ago, the Muddy Run was always packed and the food was very good. It's clear that they've resorted to a lot of frozen foods, bottled dressings and packaged drink mixes. That most likely explains why the place was virtually empty during the lunch rush hour. People are learning that they're taking shortcuts which will prove to be their downfall. read more

I was excited to try out the new location in town and have been there 3 times, all varying in the hour of the day and in busyness. Every time, it has taken much longer than it should and service hasn't been very impressive at all. The burger was excellent but the fries are a disappointment. If you have time and are looking for a good burger in Huntingdon, it would be worth checking it out. read more

Service has really gone down lately! Two times in a row - VERY DISAPPOINTED! Last time (about a month ago) it took over an hour to get our food, so we got it boxed to go and they gave us a $20 gift card as a way to make up for them taking to long. Figured we would give it another try and have to say that this time was even more of a disappointment. After 10 minutes had to get our own menus from the hostess stand. 10 minutes after that I needed to ask the bartender if we could sit at a table that someone might serve us and wipe down the table from the prior guests. Finally got our order taken and the waitress wouldn't show any concern that their were issues with our visit already. During our 50 minute wait for our food I needed to go to the bar to get our pitcher of water filled because the waitress never came back during that time. Other than the waitress not bringing the fries until I was about to walk back for them, the pasta was over cooked, and salmon was dry. Never being a complainer has made this visit very difficult when I shared with the waitress the issues we were having and she says that she has been apologizing all night and I am being the problem...... are you kidding me..... I asked her to put herself in my situation almost 2 hours later (arrived at 5:40 and left at 7:30) and her apology was only that she was sorry that she can't control the kitchen. But she could have controlled us getting menus, cleaning the table, checking on us, getting water, bringing the fries with the food and overall being somewhat helpful when issues are being addressed and not making it out that I am being the problem when addressing the actual legitimate problems that I have no control over. I asked my kids if she ever apologized because I never heard it before getting the check and they said she did say something about being sorry she can't control the kitchen while she was over at their side of the table. She never spoke to the person bringing up the issues and dared to say she was apologizing all night. I wish I didn't spend almost 2 hours in this place tonight trying to get service and needing to speak up, but made to feel that I shouldn't have said anything. If I didn't say anything we would have been still sitting there at a dirty table waiting for menus! read more

Food is okay and service is slow. The staff is very nice but it's obvious that they're understaffed. I've heard that this place can't keep staff due to management, but this may just be a rumor/singular experiences. The restaurant is an updated furniture store from the mid-late 1900s and the current owners have kept a lot of the features of that era. read more

Really, really wanted to try this place but it doesn't look like we will. Walked in and seated next to a large group. Waiter never acknowledged us even after he delivered to the group. Waited almost 15 minutes and still no acknowledgment so we finally got up and left. So disappointing. read more

Visited 3 times for a fair review. Food is ok, not great but not bad. Service was good 2 times and once it was forever to get anything. The one time it took over an hour to get our food and was cold. They have live music often which is nice but both times it was "WAY TOO DAMN LOUD". Once the music starts, forget about talking because no one will hear anything you say, not even the person sitting next to you if you yell into their ear. Tone the music down a tiny bit and hire a few more staff. Also there aren't many seats for the size of the place. read more

Time and time again, I have had some of the best wings in town from here. The cheesesteak sub is a personal favorite, as well. The staff are awesome once you get to know them. Quick and timely with all orders, in house or take out. It's not a giant space, but it's easy to fit in. read more

I was just there yesterday. And omg 1/10 recommended. Long story short its not kid friendly. You wait an hour or more for cold food. My wings were so dry and over done. It took the WAITRESS 15 minutes just to take our drink order. 10/20 more minutes to come and ask for our food order and then it took 45 or more minutes for our food. All to only come out cold and gross. To sum up the awful experience my child was rolling the kid tire that you get with a kids meal in our little area. The waitress came picked it up took it from him basically ran it to the kitchen threw it away as he was running behind her crying hey that's mine. (He's two) WTH!!!! I paid for that tire bowl. Yet she threw it away because my child was an inconvenience. Maybe if we didn't have to wait an hour and a half for our food was he would not have been rambunctious and hangry. Other people who got there after us were getting their food before us. I'm sorry this place should be shut down until they get a hand on things. Oh and they only have on me high chair. read more
