The food was not bad, but a little pricey. Specially it was deceptive pricing. If you ordered a sandwich or burger they ask if you want the chips or fries. Fries cost extra. If you order a bowl of soup, they ask do you want the cornbread with that. It costs extra. A small iced tea in a plastic cup costs $2.50. When you think you are getting a refill, you are notified. You will pay another 2.50. The appetizers were good, but you will pay over a dollar apiece ​. It may have been written on the menu, but it was not made clear that everything was extra. The staff people were nice enough, but know how to sell stuff you don't realize you are paying for there. I was just disappointed because it is a nice little place. My pocketbook can't afford another trip there. read more

The decor and wings are the best thing about this place. The wings were very good and priced inline. We had a variety of sandwiches which were average, nothing special and all in the $13 range. We all had alcohol and never saw the prices. This place carries a good crowd with many locals. The waitress could have been more accommodating, not overly friendly but doing a job! Service forgot wife's drink after waiting 20 minutes. 20 minutes later asked when daughter's meal was coming. Server asked and told us that the cook forgot to make it and it would be out in 5. 20 minutes after everyone else finished their meal, the wings came. Server said there would be discount on the meal. After looking the discount was $0.97 cents on a $56.82 meal. Daughter ate 1 wing and said it wasn't good. read more

Get the BigAss Burger with fresh cut fries! You will be amazed and full. Matter of fact, split the burger with a buddy because it's so darn big! I'd recommend a bottle of beer over a draft...just saying. Great place for a bar stop! read more

I've been to the VT quite a few times. It's close to home and we are very limited with sit down dining in our area, so it's typically the place to go if you want to stay local or grab take out. The food is usually good, nothing fabulous. The service, however, sucks. I've been there when it's busy and there isn't an empty seat in the house and I've also been there when it's crickets and there was only one other table seated. No matter the case, the waitresses have no personality and no customer service. And service is sloooow, but we go in knowing that. The reason I am making this review, however, is because of what happened recently when I ordered take out. It was an early Thursday evening, it was not busy. I literally ordered one thing. A chicken cheesesteak with onions, peppers and mushrooms and it comes with a side of chips. My husband ran in to get it and we left. I opened the box on the way home and there were literally 8 chips in the box and a chicken "cheesesteak" with only chicken on it. No cheese, no peppers, no onions or mushrooms. My husband called and told them and a woman told him to bring it back in and she'd have a new one made for me. Awesome. We turned around, he went in and a girl literally handed him a tiny sauce container with a few mushrooms and peppers in it and turned around and walked back into the kitchen. She didn't say a word. Didn't apologize. Didn't make a new sandwich (LIKE WE WERE TOLD). No refund. Nothing. Absolutely ridiculous!! My mother also went in to eat one time and the waitress spilled an entire pitcher of water on the table and my mom. She did not apologize and just handed my mom a towel to clean up the mess. In the area glamping (Airydale Dome). Was combing through local eatery reviews looking for a diamond in the rough. I was specifically dreaming about great wings. I wanted to order take out to bring back to the dome. I read a google review (by Anthony Haas) for this place that said "this place ruined wings for me". I COULDN'T HAVE DIALED ANY FASTER. Unfortunately they weren't taking take out orders because they were too busy (packed house and parking lot on a WEDNESDAY y'all). I was crushed. I'd been kayaking all day and was not in a public "presentable" state (to wait and dine in). We opted to be the first ones there at open the next morning (11am), and we were. I ordered a dozen bone in wings; 6 Smith & Wesson (I'd call is a buffalo-y BBQ flavor) and 6 Remington (reminds me of Asian Zing from Bdubs but better) and we ordered the fried pickles as well. Listen, these pickles were the best I've had, and I've had a ton from all over the place. And for anyone still reading this, this place did in fact ruin wings for me as well. And I'm not just a casual wing eater, I've got a very high bar. I'd call myself more of a wing connoisseur Do it, just go. Thank me later. read more

Went for the first time on a Wednesday evening with a group of 6 girls. I love the atmosphere. They were fairly busy and the food was good. My only complaint is the service was SUPER slow. It took forever to get our orders and forever to get our food. Everything else was great. read more

Great food ! terrible service ! Went with my family and 1 order was messed up and the other they forgot ! Had to tell them 3x we still didn't have it which was a kids grilled cheese and shouldnt have taken long at all! Our bill came before the grilled cheese did ! All of our drinks were empty and never refilled or checked on. Would I go back probably for good food but service needs improvement. read more

First time experience. Terri was welcoming as soon as we entered. As stated in other reviews, the establishment is clean with a pleasant atmosphere. The service was great. Typical bar food on the menu however the surprise was how good it tasted! Fresh fries, homemade ham & turkey on the club ( no lunchmeat deli ). Fresh bread and buns for the cheesy steak . Yum! Homemade chips and tasty bloody marys as well. Competitive affordable pricing. This is a place to try in this area. I like that they have basic rules on the wall pertaining to alcohol and consumption. Good job. read more

The absolute worst dining experience of my life. An hour to get in. An hour to get HALF of our food. The other half of our food came COLD! And, after every one who got their food , was done eating. Decent food at decent prices. The fresh cut fries are really good - ask for vinegar to put on top. If you're looking for bar type food, this will do the trick. They recently renovated so the inside is very nice despite the deceiving exterior. Lots of locals frequent here. Had early dinner 2/24, a family gathering and one had a birthday. The burgers were great and other dishes were too. I ordered garlic/butter extra crispy wings. 1st they were NOT extra crispy and had at least 8 oz+ of garlic plopped in basket. One spot was 1/4 cup size and other two areas were a tablespoon size. I took a bite out of 4 pieces of 12, after I brushed off garlic, too strong to eat. We showed waitress the excess garlic, I asked, is this way you serve this dish? yes, I then said, well you should have a warning "spoonful"s of garlic". No offer to remove price or an offer to bring a birthday item to our son in law. The check was $157 and we left a 20% tip.We were referred because the family members that live in the area love this Tavern having eaten often since it opened. The place is clean and open and lots of TV's, when we asked to switch from golf to car racing on TV nearest us, they gave me the flipper! Sadly, I cannot get garlic out of my breath 18 hours later, seriously awful!!! read more
