    Matcha madness

We arrive in Tarrytown and we wanted something to drink for our walk around the town and we saw Muddy water coffee as our first choice, sadly it wasn't the best one We wanted some Matcha, and they had one called "Matcha Madness" so we decided to give it a shot and we chose it to be a "cold beverage" because temperature was going up and we needed something refreshing! After making a long line with a limited space we were able to order and then make another mini line to pay. The matcha beverage was $8.15 which we believe was kind of expensive but only made our expectations for an amazing product, HIGHER! While we were waiting for out drink we observed the coffee shop from the inside, it had a great ambiance, kind of messy and tight but in a good sense, different tables, different chairs, in their own style they we're definitely making it work! Once we got our ordered we were VERY DISAPPOINTED First of all the beverage wasn't even "cold" was warm with some ices that were melting and making the matcha more watery Then we tried it and it tasted really bad, not even like Matcha, tasted like water with milk and the color was so brown that we couldn't even bear to drink it. We threw the "Matcha Madnness" and our $8 in the nearest trash can I want to believe that their other products are probably better, but I would definitely not recommend this one

Cozy, welcoming coffeehouse with chill staff. Great coffee and pastries. I wish I lived close, this would be my new home away from home.

Came to visit Tarrytown for a long weekend. We found Muddy Water and stopped in on a Sunday morning. The place was poppin'! I ordered an iced americano with a splash of lavender flavoring, and it was delightful. There are two dinning room type rooms for patrons to sit and enjoy their coffee, get some work down, or just relax. There was also a super cute garden in the back to hang out in. There food menu was a little strange. They had pastries but they didn't seem to be baked there. Pretty nuch strictly a coffee shop.

We were horrible people and came in right before closing (lots of people still in there so it seemed like it was okay). Regardless they were so friendly!! And the maple latte was delicious!! Seems like a great place to study or be with friends!

I love this comfy coffee spot in the heart of Tarrytown. It has a great vibe that encourages you to stay and relax. The eclectic and lovely seating is comfortable and is a good date spot for folks who want to sit down, talk and relax. The staff and service is great and there is outdoor seating right on Main Street if you want to take in the village atmosphere.

Trendy little place for coffee and pastries. Our cashier/ server seemed only slightly overwhelmed. There were a few people who seem to be working remotely. My iced coffee was perfect and my wife's Americano was as well for a treat we decided on the pumpkin spice, Whoopie pie, and it was yummy!

Very cute spot! The coffee is solid. I really like the coziness of the place. It might be the most popular coffee shop in the area. On a busy weekend, very long line.

Muddy Water Coffee has my highest recommendation for coffee/cafe spot in Tarrytown. As a new student in the area, finding a cafe to study in is crucial. Muddy Water was the first cafe spot I visited and I've never left. I've been here a bunch of times at this point and has been so normal to me, which is why I don't have a great pic of it (it's buried in my camera roll). First, the coffee is great. I've only ever ordered the iced americanos and they are amazing. Bitter, smooth, strong. Perfect drink to keep me refreshed and energized as I struggle through schoolwork. I think the large is around ~$4.50-4.80, which is definitely worth it. I've ordered and tried some of the pastries here and they're either great or alright. They're a bit out of my price range and are sometimes mediocre, so I tend not to buy them. The ambiance of Muddy Water Coffee is also very well put together. Lots of wood and a bit old fashioned. The chairs aren't the comfiest, but they'll do. The tables aren't perfect either, but I think captures the place well. The wifi is fast and reliable. The outdoor seating in the front and the back is nice and quaint. The bathrooms are alright. Lastly, the service is great. The baristas are nice and cordial, and the food/coffee is prepared at a decent time. My only gripe about Muddy Water Coffee is that it's getting too famous! It can get busy and seats aren't always guaranteed. May want to get here early if you're trying to study to ensure a nice spot.

The name accurately describes the quality of the product. Nice people though, and probably not many or any better options around.

I'm not going to lie if I say that sometimes I pick sort of stylish-worthy places for my curiosity…read more(guilty). What a difference in design from the previous Brrzaar café in this same spot years ago. The color on all the walls adds a minimalist+chic feel but keeps the clean look that only a white paint provides! It's the perfect balance, in my opinion. If it's an upbeat café you're after, this husband+wife team at LuDy (named after the couple's 2 children) are bringing their Melbourne coffee culture to quaint Irvington, NY. They partner with Proud Mary Coffee to bring coffee to the masses, Flour Power from Pelham, NY to offer scrumptious baked goods and Spirit Tea. Judging by the number of people I found sitting at the tables chitchatting with their friends/co-workers, etc during my Tuesday 11am visit, this is the place for a hangout over bites and beverages. But do also know, LuDy is loud. I'm not sure if people nowadays know common conversation 101 courtesy using a normal volume. Anyhow. Since their June '24 opening, LuDy's owner is setting himself apart in the community and is the epitome of a friendly neighborhood cafe. And service from him, the morning I was here, was pure gentlemanly as he located a chair for me to sit at one of the empty tables. Thank you! My hibiscus+lemongrass+ ginger root 'Rosella Tonic' iced tea was refreshing. What would've taken my hot chocolate (made with a chocolate sauce) to the next level would've been a darker chocolate kind. But the barista zhuzhed up my drink with a pattern like it was coffee. Thank you again!
