I went to muffler man to get a new catalytic converter on my 2000 Chevy s10 pickup. They put the wrong catalytic converter on my vehicle. They put a Chevy C 1500 catalytic converter on my pickup. When I went to get my vehicle smogged I could not pass because it was the wrong catalytic converter. When I return to ask him about it they said that was not their problem. But they would gladly fix it for another $365. My mechanic has since told me it is heard of many problems at that shop. Especially with putting on the wrong equipment. read more

I took a trip to Muffler-Man after looking on yelp for a muffler shop. I had bent an exhaust hanger on my nissan, after bottoming it out sunday morning on a dirt road.My car was making a terrible rattle as I let out the clutch, driving me crazy. I called and was told inspections are free, and given an estimate to fix my exhaust hanger of $20. I arrived and my car was put on the lift, and was promptly told that my exhaust hanger was not causing the rattle, and they couldn't help me.They told me it was my clutch. I left disappointed, and on my way home I stopped at Auto Express.I was told it was $19.00 to place my car on the lift for inspection. The mechanic quickly spotted the bent exhaust hanger, and the point of contact causing the rattle.He bent the hanger back with a large crescent wrench, and low and behold the rattle was gone! I promptly paid him $20 and was on my way. I will never visit muffler man again unless I have a need for a full exhaust system install. So my girlfriend and I just decided to drive here for a new place to live after a long drive we realized the muffler or the pipe had some hole or some type of problem since it was so loud. We made the call and drove to the location it was a hard find but when we arrived with our 1999 Ford Ranger. We were welcomed right in propped our truck found the problem we were there for maybe twenty minutes. During that time he showed me about the oil filter, and a thing to help with rust since we are from Vermont its all over. We drove out of the place feeling like we were driving a new truck, in under twenty minutes, for $60. If I ever have any more problems with mufflers, I know who I am calling. read more

So today I called up one place about my noisy muffler and they said that I just needed at new one for $145.. so I decided to call Muffler Man for a second opinion. They asked a few questions to get an idea of what needed to be done and they said to just swing by and they would take a look at it. SO, I went down there and they saw me right away. Just as they though, I didnt need a new muffler at all, there was just a piece that needed to be re-welded. So they welded the piece in about 10 minutes, only charged me $30, and I was on my way! I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. Anyway, I took my 1992 dodge pickup here in the spring of 2012 because the smog shop stated I needed an "updated" catalytic converter to pass (it's always the cat, isn't it...). Well, I pull in to the small lot w/o any silly appointment, walk in, get a quick quote, and up goes my truck on their lift. The old cat is cut out, the new updated one welded in, and we're all done in approx. 15-20 minutes tops. On top of that, one of the gentlemen tightens up a few loose exhaust manifold bolts at the engine that I KNEW had been leaking since I got it back from a different repair shop, no added charge, no fuss, and good to go. Quick and quality work, and a reasonable price. I will definitely consider the guys at Muffler Man on Franklin Bl for any future exhaust or mullfer work! Thanks again guys! read more

My experience, great customer service, not customer satisfaction I feel like I was taken advantage of. So I needed a smog but my check engine light was on. Found out I needed a new cat. Stopped by this establishment to price check, I was told 500 for a cat and labor. That was too pricey for me so I checked online for a cat found the same 1 he offered me for 120. Came into my part store the next day, me being in a rush I go back to muffler man. I asked how much to weld it in. Not knowing the price of welding and needing to get my car legally on the road. He responds 160, at this time I had the money and said let's get it done. (thinking to myself well it's cheaper than 500. They do the work, I pay, and leave. Then later I talk to a friend and he says dude 160? Should have been way cheaper you could have bought 2 cats. So I call a week later and ask "what is the price on a cat weld if I have the part".? He responded 95 dollars! Flat fee. I was livid. So in any case call before you show up, or you might be played out your pockets. read more

Business says it opens at 830. Made a point to be there by 830. Yes the lights and doors were open but the gentleman inside told me the guy who works on the mufflers comes in at 930. WTH? Thought this was a muffler shop. If the guy who actually works on mufflers don't come in till 930, then don't say you're open till 930! Wasted my morning and time coming here. Wound up taking my vehicle to Muffler Tech down the street. They may be on the pricey side nowadays, but at least when they say they're open, they're OPEN and READY TO WORK. read more
