I went in a little after 8am for a damaged catalytic converter. I was shown the other issue that was wrong with my mufflers in the back and was told that my catalytic converter had to be fully replaced. My brother recommended this place he and his brother in law actually drive from Downers Grove to get all their families cars serviced here. They totally go out of their way to help me out, I actually waited there while they worked on my truck and heard them looking for cheaper prices for other customers car parts, very nice! They're maybe good with regular boring car owners who simply need an easy fix. But I went in for a muffler adjustment and the guy tried to say I need the whole exhaust redone. I went in for an estimate and was told a new one could be installed for a great price and in 20 minutes. Needless to say, they followed through and I had my car running like her ole self. I was told that the oil change was $35.00 and they never told me it was going to be $70 which in the dealer is way less. Once I paid the lady said it was $70 since they check the tire pressure, air and filter and everything. But it turns out they didn't do none of that. Which I only asked to do a oil change. Came here after having a difficult time finding a muffler shop to do some work on my van at a reasonable price. Just getting a shop to look at the van was an ordeal. The one shop I went to prior to this quoted me almost $1,500. Ugh, that's almost what the entire van is worth! I contacted Mufflers and brakes for less and the owner asked that I bring the vehicle in for a look. He told me that it was bad but that he could have it repaired in under 48 hours and at a fraction of the cost I was quoted prior. He explained the repair process to me and the warranty on his labor. I just came back from this shop. The top muffler heat shield of my van fell off from corrosion. Toyota will replace the part for $130 labor and $70 for the part. Lalo was able to do it for $40. He used a bigger washer to clamp it down. This seemed to be the logical approach instead of replacing the whole heat shield. If I had an impact wrench, I could have probably done it myself. I just don't have the tools to do it and was afraid to strip the bolts. I heard someone in the shop say she's been going for years to this shop bec. of he honest man, Lalo, that owns the place. She drove all the way from Plainfield to have her car serviced. read more

Had front brakes and calipers put in i told them please install the good brakes that dont squeal make noise he agreed. sadly my worst nightmare brakes are squealing making horrible disturbing noise still under warranty took it several week ago he said i would have to leave it overnight i said no because not good area to park outside. took it again today in early 8am they said they would inspect it see what is going on. 12:15 i get call to bring it in when weather is warmer because they heard nothing they took it out 3 x. no noise according to them. i went quickly to get car as they close at 1pm as soon as i took it out the lot. squealing noise began again very upsetting to be wasting my time like this. i used to recommend this place many years ago it was my go to place but i wont be recommending this place to get service. i also notice my front windshield has small crack not sure if it was from here or somewhere else as i havent taken it to anyone else . take it again this coming week see what happens maybe i should just video tape the noise? put it on youtube. and ask youtubers do you hear the squelling noise stay tuned... i may just do that as my friend is youtuber and will get your responses. good luck to all who go there. not wishing this to happen to anyone else. be careful where you get work done. read more

Great place. He diagnosed the problem with a quick test drive and gave me a reasonable price. First time I ever left a repair shop and didn't feel cheated. I will go herr from now on. They appear to be honest people. Even invited me to call back with any issues or concerns, and reiterated the one year warranty. It gets no better than this. They work fast as well. read more

It was the first place I went to so the next day I contacted about 5 shops and went into a Velazquez Mufflers and their quote was $120 more than this place. The owners are very friendly and they offer honest prices which is rare to find among mechanic shops. They are also super quick! I will be coming here for anything else my car needs. read more

Saw this company on yelp got a crazy estimate from dealer for a hole in one of my pipes got me in within a half hour gave me a great estimate of what it would cost and brought me to my vehicle after work was done to show me what was replaced had two different quotes from them and the service was excellent honest with me and I appreciate that will highly recommend them and will be back again read more
