The thing about owning a used car is that if you are out of warranty you can get hosed on repairs. I get one estimate to fix an issue that costs $1700. Exhaust Works was recommended and they diagnosed my problem, charged me NOTHING but referred me to another mechanic who had the tools and expertise to solve the issue. I sent to the referral and (that's another review) and $480 later I was good to go. I'm not saying this is the usual outcome however it was the HONESTY that impressed me. For what it is worth, a word of caution. For our loud exhaust system issues, we were quoted a low (no new muffler) and high estimate (replace muffler). NExhaustWorks wouldn't know for sure which estimate would be applied until after the work started. Figured it would be best to get a second opinion. THEN was told that prices are going up at the beginning of next month, which was the next day...(sigh) Ended up getting that second opinion at another business and paid less than half of the low price estimate. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! I had been dealing with car issues for over 6 months and was having a terrible experience through my local Hyundai dealership who kept up-charging me and never fully fixing the issue. I called Exhaust Works and Chris (I believe was his name) was incredibly kind and quoted me WAY less than what Hyundai did to fix my catalytic converter. The muffler was audaciously loud for several months. I finally took it in to the dealership and was quoted $2500 to "fix" (replace) the muffler. More months passed, as I couldn't stomach the $2.5k bill. I took it in to Naperville Exhaust Works to check out their opinion. They said they could do it in an hour for $250 (yes, 1 less zero). This would fix, but not replace the muffler (what a sane person would want). I didn't quite believe this would hold true, but here I am an hour later and only $250 less than I came in with. First I called the shop to see if they were too busy to put my car up on the lift and check out an exhaust leak. Sean said it was no problem, and to swing by any time for him to have a look at it. Sure enough when I got there we got my car on the lift and Sean replaced a donut gasket. Not only was I out of there in about 20 minutes, but the work was outstanding! Overall, the shop was very organized and very well kept. I will most definitely be going back there to get any other work done. It was a very fair price, and the customer service was great too. I'm typically very wary of people working on my vehicles and have had numerous terrible experiences in the service industry. When choosing a place to get work done, in especially picky. When I read all the reviews for this shop currently, I figured I could give them a shot. First and foremost, everything you read about Parrish being awesome is true. He was polite and prompt over the phone and knew who I was when I showed up. I got to my appointment a little early and he went out and immediately drove my car (a stick shift) into the shop for inspection. Before they even touched my car they called me in to the shop to show me the obvious issue, and had no problem taking the laundry list of work I needed done, and listened thoroughly to my suggestions and prior knowledge of my concern. After a few minutes of clicking around in the computer for a part he didn't think he had, he found something that fit my application and gave me a quote for the front and back half (I said laundry list didn't I?) of my exhaust. He told me it'd be done by the end of the day, left the keys in a safe spot so I could pick up the car after hours and that was that, nice and easy. When I picked up my car it had essentially a full exhaust from the header back, an o2 bung welded in with the sensor installed, a new muffler and about three feet of new piping, needless to say, it runs and drives like a completely different car! I would not hesitate to take any of my projects to this shop, I only wish they did transmission work too read more

Great experience with Exhaust Works. I was looking to have a Borla exhaust installed on my new Challenger and I wanted a Pro not one of the little muffler shops chopping up my new car. I have met people that have had work done at Exhaust Works on there classic and muscle cars. Normally I do all the work on my cars so I am very hesitant to have others work on my cars but being January I didn't feel like laying around on the cold garage floor so I called and Parrish quoted ma a VERY reasonable price, we set up an appointment. NI found a nice clean professional shop, they did a great job. It was great to meet Parrish had fun shooting the breeze with him he is a stand up guy. I have had them do exhaust work on a couple of my cars in the past and I have recommended them to others over the years. I thought they were reasonably priced and did good work. I still think they do good work, but they have now lost me as a customer over pricing. I just had some exhaust work on my truck. I thought it was a little on the expensive side, but I needed it done, they could do it next day and I was confident in them - based on previous experience. They did the work and it was fine, but the three main components on my itemized bill had Walker part numbers and I ran them through Amazon that night. I am all for making money and I understand all that makes up overhead, but the markup on these items was EXCESSIVE. Shame on me for not shopping around, but I expected to be treated fairly. I will not go back and cannot recommend Exhaust Works further. I was referred to Exhaust Works from a repair shop that doesn't do these types of repairs. When I arrived, without an appointment, Chris couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. He showed me the issues when my car was on a lift and he told me the options and associated cost. I decided on the more extensive repair and even though they had to get the replacement pieces off-site I was out of the shop in 90 minutes. The repair shop quoted me 3 times the price I was charged at Exhaust Works. Great service and a great price! Bolts holding the heat shield on my car's exhaust rusted, causing the front half to tip down. I called and they told me a specific time that day to bring my car in and gave me a price of $30. When I got there, they confirmed the problem and said it would take 10 minutes to repair. Charged me $25 and I was out the door in under 10 minutes. Can't say enough positive things about this place. These guys were nice enough to put my car up on the lift and show me exactly what the problem was. They wrote down all the part numbers for me and wanted to charge me $350 for 1 pipe with some brackets and labor. I went home and ordered an entire new exhaust kit myself for $248. The part numbers matched exactly what they wrote down, they wanted to charge me $152 for the one pipe but I ordered it myself for $58!! I understand they have to make a profit but I could tell they were just flat out ripping me off on this deal. In the end I ended up getting an entire new exhaust system for less than what they would've charged me for only 1 part, I highly suggest you check the prices before you go there, maybe I just went on a bad day... read more

Great shop and guys working there I got charged 150 for a axel back to be put on a little up priced but ok the clamps that came with the exhaust didn't fit they said so they replaced it with some they had only concern is those clamps are showing rust now other then that good place would recommend read more

I broke my welder at the shop where I work and needed someone to install a new titanium muffler in time for the weekend's race. It is common practice to install motorcycle-like mufflers in Mazda Miatas: Invert the muffler and very little custom work was needed, just a matter of clamping it to the original tubing and hanging it from the end hanger. The business owner laughed at my face before I even attempted to explain what should be done. "I can't install that, there isn't anywhere to install the hangers!" Narrow minded people and people with no creativity or will to find different approaches to a problem have no place in this industry. And I thought it was polite not to laugh at a possible customer. Needless to say, you lost a customer. And I will make sure noone from the sports car and road racing crowd (you know, the people with the money) will ever step in that establishment. I gave the team a call and was able to quickly drop off the kit I ordered online along with my 17 Durango R/T and was ready with the install complete 4 hours later.
