I was later informed that the inner and outer tie rod ends needed replacement, which I approved. The total cost was over $500. After picking up the vehicle, the issue remained unchanged. I also discovered that the front right tire had been inflated to 47 PSI. Standard PSI is 35 PSI. I returned the next day, and after another alignment inspection, I was told that worn out front tires was most likely causing the issue. I paid an additional $40 at another shop to rotate the tires, but the vehicle still pulled to the right. When I returned again, I was told they could only refund the alignment charge of $138. In the end, I still have the original issue despite spending several hundred dollars. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the overall service experience.

It needed a new camshaft and we went with a Non-OEM camshaft. As it turns out, Jabob had to do the work twice becasue the non-OEM camshaft was not manufactured correctly. You would expect that the new part would be manufactured correctly - but there were visibile differences when compared side to side. Jacob spent a lot of time before diagnosing that the replacement camshaft was bad and I was not charged anything extra.

But when Discount Tire checked it out, they were honest and told me that my tire was totally repairable and they would repair it for no charge. He asked me to let him look at it and he and his team would make an effort to get me out by 1:30 He set my up in the system and explained I would get an email soon after the check by the mechanic. Sure enough that came quick. He took the time to explain how much everything would be but not to worry they had specials and coupons. He applied all he could and did see my concern so he went one step further and explain what is urgent and what could wait. I felt so reassured and was very happy with the affordability of all the service provided. My amazement came when I sat there... oh yes I forgot he let me set up my mobile workstation so I wouldn't miss work ! But I was in awe of how Mr Johnson really managed the store! He accepted tire orders , placed parts and tire orders, took phone calls and a large amount of walk in customers. The patience and ability to keep order with all of theses things going on was very impressive. He literally explained everything to each and every customer. To start, my family and I have been going to the same mechanic for over 50 years. One problem... my…read moreboyfriend and I just reallocated to Oak Park, and with this comes losing our go to in Cleveland. I have ventured out to others when I desperately needed service and my preferred couldn't get me in, and was always screwed over. The typical you "need" this, this, and this done to your car which led me to have a really poor experience with anything that needed to be done to my car - which had 200k miles on it, and made the process dreadful. Long story short, my boyfriend needed a routine oil change, tire rotation, and wanted to get a full inspection on the car since his just hit 100k miles. The car was also showing that he needed a new timing belt (something that pops up automatically when the car hits 100k, and has yet to be replaced) and we were supposed to be making a long drive the next day for a wedding. I decided to take the car since he had to work. I get to the shop and am immediately warmly welcomed by a nice smile and friendly hello from a man named Tyler. I told Tyler exactly what I wanted and didn't want anything else done besides what I said. I also told him that we ideally wanted to wait on the timing belt seeing as we had to leave for a long trip (I had my fingers crossed on this one since). He checked everything, and came to the waiting room to tell me I can make it there and back before the timing belt needs to be replaced, but that it should be replaced soon. THIS was what I wanted to hear. He also told me I needed new filters (I already knew this, oops), and too the time to show me how gross mine were, so I ended up getting new ones. He ended up giving me a little discount too, and explained, "we just try to do a little something for everyone". Amazing! After driving the car home, it has a completely different (but good) feel to it. Maybe it's in my head, but it truly does feel like it was taken care of properly. I have NEVER had this good of service from a mechanic in my life. Our Planet Automotive will be our new mechanic, and I'm so happy with the time Tyler spent with me on this.
