Murray KY Sirloin Stockade has the freshest delicious food around. I didn't know buffet restaurants were a thing anywhere any more. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon. MSU's graduation had happened that morning. A lot of large family groups were at the "Stockade" as it is affectionately called in western KY. We were a party of four. There were no tables open. I was visiting some family at Kentucky Lake this weekend and we went to Sirloin Stockade for dinner on Friday night. We got there a bit later so we missed the rush. Friday nights are popular with their seafood buffet. We waited less than 10 minutes before we were seated! The weekend price for the buffet wasn't bad at all. The adult price was $16.49. Considering the buffet was mostly seafood that was pretty great. I was vastly overwhelmed at the options! It was so wonderful! The service was amazing! VERY EXPENSIVE. Nearly $16 for one person and that was with free water as a drink. Only 3 very small counters for the buffet... one with a few meats and a few sides - fried chicken, baked chicken, bbq ribs, fish, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. One with desserts and one listed as BAKERY... but the bakery counter just had rolls and more desserts. The BBQ ribs were very good, the mashed potatoes were good, the gravy was nasty, the green beans were extremely BLAND, the rolls were good; the fried chicken was undercooked, the baked chicken was very undercooked, the meatloaf was undercooked as well, the fish was OK I tried a few things... found out all the chicken was very undercooked at that time... and got a couple of ribs. Went back to get some more ribs because they were very good and the chicken was nearly raw. After that second time --- that's usually where I stop... but most of my first plate was inedible raw chicken... after those ribs, even after using a lot of napkins, my fingers were still not clean. I went to wash my hands and even my face a little... the restroom doesn't have paper towels... only had the air dryers, which create an unsanitary environment, as everyone should know by now. Went out to get some napkins so I could wash and dry my hands... I was only gone from my table for about 4 minutes. (I did not use the toilet, I just simply washed my hands and face) When I returned, my table had been cleared and someone else just sat down. My server, Molly, was probably complaining about not getting a tip... Well, when you clear my table after I'm gone 4 minutes and there are no tables available for me to finish my meal; you're not going to get a tip... Our first visit to Sirloin Stockade and Buffet in Murray, KY was fantastic. I love buffets but I usually find myself in a Chinese buffet. This buffet was different and served all kinds of southern comfort foods you'll never see in a Chinese buffet. Some examples include fried fish, hot wings, green bean casserole, biscuits, country ham, bbq ribs, mashed taters and gravy and much more. There's a huge salad bar with all the fixin's you could ask for and a baked goods bar with all kinds of cakes and cookies. There's also a soft serve ice cream machine with vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and orange sherbert soft serve and all kinds of toppings. Price was reasonable and wait staff kept our drinks full. I had the 6oz sirloin which was very tender, perfectly seasoned, expertly cooked and... just, well... perfect. The sweet potato I chose for my side was beautifully baked and topped with a big scoop of butter. I enjoyed the salad bar also, which was kept full even though the restaurant was packed. First trip there and not super happy with the meal. My wife and I both ordered sirloins, as this is the Sirloin Stockade. Both were very undercooked and devoid of any seasoning to include basic salt and pepper. My daughter ordered the salmon, also undercooked aside from the outside edges. Buffet was ho-hum. Good salad bar, dessert bar and the service was second to none, but had higher hopes for the steaks given the name and giant cow out front. At beginning the only thing I would recommend is temperature checks at the cashier stand because we were around some people that were coughing a lot without covering their mouth. The buffet offers a wide array of food to satisfy everyone's palette including hot bars, salad bar, and desserts. The buffet offers items such as hot vegetables, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, fried chicken wings, roasted chicken, carved meats, pizza, fish, meatballs, spaghetti, sliced sausages, soups, salads, fruit, cakes, cobbler, pudding, ice cream, and many more. We had our fill at the buffet and we made several trips. The steaks were grilled to our liking. The waitress left us clean plates before we went up and refilled our sodas several times. We were very full and satisfied with the meal. It was time to relax and go to bed because we had another long day ahead of us. We ordered a 8 oz sirloin and a ribeye with twice baked potatoes and a baked potato. We both got the salad and buffet bar. Steaks were on point. Twice baked potatoes were tasteless. Baked potato was way over cooked to point from skin in about 1/2 inch was hard. Salad bar was good. The hot bar was ok if you like every thing that taste like the grease it came from all breading from chicken frog legs and shrimp were soggy like they been cooked earlier and sitting under warmer. Unfortunately had an unpleasant experience for my first time at this restaurant. When signing up for the E club, we were supposed to revive a free buffet for my birthday. The email for the coupon was never sent and we explained this to the manager. He simply didn't care and walked off without resolving the issue.
