I ordered the blackened shrimp and grits. Though the shrimp was light on the seasoning it was fabulous. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, bursting with moisture when bitten. The grits had the right amount of bacon and tomatoes not to mentioned were also cooked wonderfully. The grits were moist and not dense or sticky. Even after sitting through the entire meal, the last bit was as good as the first. The fruit served here is always at the peak of ripeness. My only complaint would be that there was no gluten free bread option or even an included substitution. It would have been great to have been able to get some fresh fruit instead of the bread without an additional charge. The service was also terrific. Just the right mix of attention and politeness. My wife was told about this breakfast spot from a coworker so we finally had the chance to try it out and we were not disappointed. From the outside the restaurant looks small but once you get inside you see there's more than enough seating. Walking in you notice the display cases with their pans of large freshly baked cinnamon rolls. After being seated our waitress told us the specials on the board and I noticed the variety of mimosa flavors they offered (I ordered the blackberry flavor which I've never had and it was delicious). The menu has a bunch of great options to choose from from omelets, breakfast sandwiches, a variety of eggs benedict, to pancakes and waffles and chef favorites l. My wife and I decided to order the same thing which was the Breakfast All Day: 2 eggs cooked your way (we got scrambled with goat cheese), hash browns (you can sub grits or fruit), choice of toast, and different options of proteins prices vary (we got bacon and smoked sausage). We also ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. My father was with us and he pretty much got the same thing but got french toast so we were able to try that. When the food came out we were surprised on the large portions of food they served but trust me we weren't upset about it. Bring an appetite because like I said they serve large portions and it was all very good and delicious and also reasonably priced. My husband and I went on a weekend morning. We only had to wait ~ten minutes. 4/5 stars because my classic Benedict was simply ok. Nothing great, but not bad either. Next time I will try one of their more fun options! I also love iced coffees and hope that makes its way to the menu, although they do have various options for mimosas. I had an omelet that started at 7.99 with .75 upcharge for each, mushroom, onion and spinach and asked for lite cheese, $1.50. The salad I had was very fresh, with warm grilled tender chicken strips...delicious and enough for two meals. My partner had a hamburger, fries and cole slaw. Everything was very good. The only reason I took off a star was because the water in the bathrooms was so hot that it burned my kids, one of whom has a red hand and is still crying 10 minutes later. The server asked me if i wanted it heated, room temp, or grilled (which she raved about) and i ordered it grilled. LET ME TELL YOUUUUU! I've never had such a great muffin. It was super moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet! The muffin almost tasted like a cake... I was obsessed. The entree itself was just as good. The home fries were more of wedge potato rather than cubes sautéed with onions, and the eggs were cooked perfectly especially since every time I ask for over easy some places tend to cook the yolk. I had high hopes because of the other reviews but boy what a let down. I ordered the Monte Cristo and was not impressed. I've had them before and NEVER was the batter sweetened. I understand they're using a "French toast" batter for the bread but guys, c'mon maybe not for the savory sandwich. My coleslaw tasted like it was made days ago instead possibly being fresh.
