My wife and I were very disappointed with our experience at Mulberry Street Pizza. She asked to remove one topping and substitute another on her pizza -- the waitress said it was fine and never mentioned there would be any extra charge. When the bill came, we were charged $3.05 to remove a topping and another $3.05 to substitute one. That's over six dollars for a simple change that wasn't explained to us. What makes this even worse is that the menu clearly states: "Only one item can be removed or substituted. Subs must be of equal value. No exceptions." My wife simply substituted ham for bacon, which are of equal value, so there should have been no charge at all. The food itself was good, but these kinds of ridiculous and misleading charges completely ruin the experience. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I have been regulars at The Mulb for years. In fact, it really is our go-to restaurant before a movie or headed to LTM. This is the place we take friends when they are here from out of town. I took my sister there for her birthday and she was so excited, as all she wanted was the blue cheese chopped salad and a pizza. She usually gets the chicken parm but she thought she would change things up. (My husband and I were there the week before and had the same food items, except we added the mussels, which were outstanding.) The salad was bland, not at all like what we had the week before. Even my sister mentioned it was pretty bad, and she hadn't been to The Mulb since her last birthday. The pizza was so flat you couldn't cut it with a regular knife. Needless to say, I was so disappointed because we both were looking forward to her celebration dinner. I know Mulberry can do better, and I know Bob would want to know of our disappointment in our meal. The staff is great and the ambiance is lovely. read more

We thought we would get the better pizza as we were having company only to be very disappointed. The chunks of tomato, soggy crust all just unappetizing. Mulberry remains one of our go-to places for pizza and cozy atmosphere. I'd love to give it 5 stars but the pricey pies hold me back (understanding that inflation is the main factor). I'm back. I love this place! The decor is absolutely amazing (no photos) and the food is incredible! The parking can be challenging. For my drink, I'm having the S'Mores Old Fashioned made with Bubbas Chocolate Marshmallow Bourbon topped with a toasted marshmallow. Oh yeah! This is good! Wow! What a drink! I love the presentation! For my lunch, I'm having the Chicken and Pesto which is chicken breast, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and pesto. I love the chips! This looks and tastes great! Why have I waited so long to post an updated review ? Because the lines are long enough already - hardly a hidden gem :) Went late afternoon and was able to land two stools at the bar-had a variety of apps and enjoyed a nice selection from their tap list. Stayed longer than we planned because the music was so great we were enjoying just hanging out. Next time i will try and save room for their desserts which i hear are legendary. FYI - they also sell frozen pizzas so keep that in mind for ape rentals, etc when you're trying to make your life easy but not sacrifice quality read more

Mulberry Street Pizza is in the downtown area of Manchester. The downtown area reminds of an old western town that meets pizza. Which is great. The restaurant has a nice layout and I love that there is an open kitchen. It really makes the difference when you can experience your food while it's being cooked and then enjoying the food at the table. The pizza was thin crust and cooked great. The pizza had great flavors, crisp, and the sauce tasted fresh. My daughter and I ordered the Sweet Chili Wings and they were delicious, a nice size, and crispy just they way I like them. It was nice size portions of wings so we ended eating them for dinner. The only thing I didn't like is that the wings came out to fast. I don't like when my wings come out fast because that means that the wings were already cooked and just refried again to heat them up. I love wings but I like my wings to be freshly cooked. I usually asked the waitress at any restaurant to make sure the wings are cooked fresh but I was famished. The customer service was great. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I will surely make a trip up to Manchester to visit again. read more

We got to the restaurant at 7pm and ordered a small pizza and fries and waited an hour and a half while some people came in and ordered and got there food before us and this was a pick up order and there were also people that came in 30 minutes after us to dine in and got seated and served and left before we even got our small pizza and fries ! The food we got was not and I repeat not worth the wait it was good but definitely not worth the hour and a half wait. The restaurant vibe is cool though but a bit loud . read more

I am originally from CT but live in CA now. I am so partial to East Coast pizza and the care they put into their products when making a pizza it's not funny. I make a point every time I come to my hometown in CT, that I make a stop here- whether I go out to dinner with my friends or just order out. The sauce is great, the cheese is great, and they have an eclectic assortment of specialty pies. Also, if you do eat indoors (especially for dinner), the lighting is nice and the seating is comfortable. I highly recommend it. read more

WARNING: leaving a 1 star review will get you a rude shameful message from the owner. First time trying this place and gotta say I'm disappointed. I googled best wings in Manchester and someone recommended them highly. Did not meet that review's expectations. The wings genuinely tasted like they were seasoned with ramen noodle seasoning. The taste was not good at all. I would get hints of buffalo every 25 bites, and every other bite is straight up ramen. Won't be getting these wings again and will very much not be recommending them to anyone. Cool looking bar though. After leaving my initial review the owner harassed me relentlessly about how my words are "exaggerated" and how I am not ever welcome back. Well now I am truly disgusted with this place. We like this place... BUT- and this is a big but... they have a policy that can't seat a group unless the entire group is there. This is problematic, especially since we are regulars and sometimes somebody needs to park the car. So I've tried a fair share of pizzas in my life, and I gotta say Mulberry Street Pizza is probably one of my favorite pizza experiences I've had. My girlfriend and I went to the Mansfield Drive-in the other week and thought, why not get a pizza on the way? Maybe take this with a grain of salt because we only did carryout instead of the full experience, but I gotta say the Goodfellas pizza is top-notch. Just by biting into it, you could tell the quality of the ingredients; maybe a little too much tomato for some, but for me, I loved every single bite. I think it would be really cool if they made specials for movies that were currently out, like the "barbenheimer pizza," half Barbie-inspired, half Oppenheimer but I digress. We also got the boneless Sweet Chili wings, and when I say these were the best boneless wings I've ever had, I'm writing this review still salivating over them. What really put this place over the top for me, though, is the owner. Through his responses, you can tell he really cares about the quality of the food and his employees over anything else. Just seeing that he makes his food from scratch, how he didn't lay anyone off during covid, and how he chooses only the biggest available wings for his chicken wings, you can understand why he charges as much as he does. There are so many places out there that will charge you an arm and a leg just for low-quality food they fished out of the freezer and reheated, so I am more than happy to support a local business that puts this much care into their food. 5 stars Had an amazing dinner at this pizza spot last night! The food was incredible, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The Italian Job pizza was honestly the best pizza I've ever had--perfectly crisp crust, rich flavors, and quality ingredients. What made the experience even more special was that the owner came out at the end of the meal to personally thank us, and he even gave us a delicious brownie on the house. The ambiance of this restaurant was great. The food I seen passing me by all smelled amazing and looked amazing. Unfortunately I think my 1st experience wasn't a good one. Maybe wrong day wrong time. I placed an order Togo of a small pepperoni pizza and fries. I waited 1hr 20mins. I do have to say I was disappointed in the fries. They were just frozen krinkle cut fries with no flavoring to it for $6.99 and my pizza was just mediocre. I feel as if we would've dined in the experience would've been better and maybe tried something else on their menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a dine in. HOLY CRAP. I may gain 100 LBS this year now that I found this. I had the Italian Job and it was the best pizza I have ever had in my life. As a New Yorker that's tough to admit. I will be back. The owner and staff were literally amazing. I have never had better food OR a better experience. I have had pizza all over the world as a Marine and this is 1000 percent the best. The Untouchable that we devoured! What a relief to finally find a place somewhat close. We just moved to the Newington area and have had the hardest time finding New Haven style pizza. This was crisp, tasty, and sizable. Good price for the value. Owner was so nice, took the time to come speak to us and also took our plates away/filled our water. You don't see that everyday. That sold me. We'll be back for sure. Oh, as for the place itself, love the old style atmosphere; a very cozy feel. I can't forget to mention that our waitress was amazing. The Mulb gets better with age. I remember when Mulberry Street was just a little shack down the road. Now it's a Manchester institution. I live the next town over, so it's a bit of a drive to get pizza here, but I do it as often as I can. The blockbusters are their fancy pants pizzas. All are outstanding. Personally, I get a simple pepperoni pizza. It's my favorite pie in central Connecticut. Don't like pizza? The grinders are awesome. Apps are nice and they have underrated wings. Adding in response to the owner's comments. Your rude behavior only reflects on the food you make. We called multiple times, to count may be aroudn 10 before in the last couple of months and every time we gave up hearing that wait time is over 1hour. The culture we come from, food is like God and we wouldnt want our food from such a rude establishment. So thanks for your suggestion of going to other inclusive well mannered places to eat. May be get your facts straight or atleast try to learn why a customer didnt like the food before berating here. Anyways thank you. No no not to our liking. Every time we called we were told wait time is 1 hour so we always left. Cannot wait for pizza for 1 hour. Anyways today we decided to finally give it a try. We ordered the MASH with chicken and Twister. First of all we went exactly at the one hour mark. Pizza was ready and we reached home in 10 min. Pizza was already so cold. Not good. Anyways let's talk about the taste. No taste at all. No taste. Absolutely tasteless. Just greasy. And to add to it, It's not thin crust. It's thick and greasy. We couldn't eat the twister at all. After heating the MASH at least we finished dinner but it wasn't good. Don't know if we needed to mention thin crust but definitely not to our liking. Not New York or new haven style at all. It's been a while since I've been here after they screwed up my pizza so bad I never went back until now. Deciding to try them again, the restaurant looked close to how I remembered. The bar's got upgraded to more of an Irish theme with the ambiance, but the dining room is more the same, which isn't a bad thing. I was sat down quickly and given the updated menu. Sadly, the Blazing Saddles pizza, a taco pizza that was my personal favorite, is gone. Disappointing, but it is what it is. I ordered the White Castle with no tomatoes, only to learn that ketchup wasn't available, causing me to break the one-substitute rules and add yellow mustard instead. The service was mixed. Though the staff was friendly, it took a while on everything. Drinks, food, you name it. When I finally got the pizza, it was alright. The same as before. Again, not a bad thing. However, I waited twice as long compared to before. It's a very underwhelming experience. I hope they improve the service because it's not entirely hopeless, as there's room to improve. read more
