Love it! Delicious food! We've tried El Cevichito, Salchipapas, Pasta Huanca with Lomo Saltado, Chicha Morada. Everything yummmy. Customer Service... top of the line! We'll definitely come back soon to try other dishes. Thank you!!!

Every time I am in town I make it a point to stop by. The food is incredible! The service is kind and very inviting. Munay Restaurant is a 10/10 for Peruvian food.

This is a place you should run not walk in order to try out the incredible food here. I'd never had Peruvian before and now I'm hooked. I got their spiced purple corn drink called the chicha morada, which sounds different but tastes incredible. My two favorite things so far are the don lomo saltado and the pasta huanca- I swear I'm getting hungry again just thinking about them. The serving staff are the sweetest and pretty helpful with giving suggestions.

Delicious! My family and I had our Valentine's Day dinner there and we loved it! It was decorated beautifully for our date with our girls. For dinner I had the Lomo saltado, the beef was so tender and juicy. Perfection! Also don't skip on desserts, the best I've ever had crème brûlée and the bread pudding. Pia (owner) thank you for great conversation and amazing food!

Little tasty nuts that kick the meal off

I have passed this establishment many times and tonight we decide to check it out. We were seated promptly. My wife had a Sonoma County Rose, my son a mimosa and I opted for a Peruvian beer. A small dish of nuts, that looked like popcorn kernels. They were salty and crunchy outside with a soft center Ceviche was the appetizer special so we decided on that. The dish had a shot glass of lemony liquid that we poured over the fish. Red onions, a sweet potato wedge and hominy accompanied the dish. The ceviche was so good. My wife had the Munay burger and fries. The burger was cooked well. The steak fries were crispy outside with a soft fluffy center. My son had the Senora Chaufa, it was a fried rice with char sui bbq pork, with chicken and shrimp. The dish is served as a pyramid. The dish really tasted like a Chinese fried rice. It was so good. They BBQ pork was big chunks of pork, that were clearly made in house. I had the pasta huanca. Pappardelle noodles with huancaina sauce chunks of beef tenderloin in a brown gravy. The huancaina sauce is a lovely briny mustard sauce. The sauce pairs perfectly with the richness of the meat. The dish was absolutely fabulous. I would love to come back and try other things but I this dish is a must. It was an excellent meal. A giant 3 layer slice of chocolate cake was our last course and it was as good as everything else. There is a patio that was well lit. We are definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Chicha morena + Prosecco = the Dr. Ugarte cocktail! Please, make it so!!!!

Half of my family is from Lima. So, my husband tries to find a Peruvian restaurant whenever we travel. Was seriously bummed to learn this place only had an alcohol license for beer and wine so couldn't serve a pisco sour (so sad!) but they DID have chicha morada! They had a few cocktails featuring Prosecco so I asked if they could combine the chicha with Prosecco and it was so tasty! I'm hopeful they create a new cocktail, the "Dr. Ugarte" so others can enjoy! Food was phenomenal, always so wonderful to find a perfect antecucho dish. YUM!!!!.

We were quite pleased with everything we tried, from the red wine to the chocolate cake we brought home because we were too full to eat it at the restaurant but couldn't pass it up. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food came out fairly quickly and everything we tried was tasty. I had had the empanadas once before as a to go order and while they were good, having them in the restaurant was so much better. We will be back to try other items and hopefully the restaurant will continue to provide great food. The cost of the dishes are on the pricer side but we think it was well worth it considering the portion size and the overall flavor of the food. The restaurant was also very clean, from the floors, the tables and the walls.

Drinks were pretty sweet. If either of the two get the Maracuyá. But it's $5.49

The restaurant wasn't all that. I went on Yelp and saw all these 5 star reviews which made it seem promising. When we arrived we were a party of 5 plus a baby. They sat us down. Upon ordering our drinks I felt a bit rush. Granted, there was one waitress and a younger girl who was helping out. But, they need to be ready for good service. The entire time I somewhat felt neglected with service from our waitress. The ceviche and empanadas were really good. I definitely recommend. Maracuyá drink was a bit sweet. Lomo saltado was good. I've gone to other Peruvian restaurant and order pollo saltado. They didn't have it at this location. They also give so much rice on their plates-more than the actual protein that is stated on the menu. It's a pyramid of rice! Everyone at my table received their dish, except for me. I waited about 15 mins for my food and not once did the waitress tell me that my food was coming out soon. I thought she forgot and waited for her to come by. She finally, brought my dish and I did tell her that I thought she forgot about my food. She just laughed and said no. Finally, because we were a party of 5 including a baby they charged 18% gratuity. I think because it's a small restaurant and 1 waitress. Each of us ordered our own plate and 2 orders of empanadas (2 empanadas per order) and one ceviche. The bill came out to $260 with gratuity plus tip. This place wasn't or isn't all that for the price. I know they're hard workers but I'm sad our experience was not great and it was expensive.

Terrible food and even worse service. If I could give them -10 stars, I would! We were on a family road trip, and after driving for 3 hours, we decided to stop at the first Peruvian restaurant we crossed paths with. Unfortunately, it was the worst mistake. The food was awful:The Tallarín Saltado: The noodles were completely overcooked, mushy, and tasteless. The Papa a la Huancaína: The potatoes were hard as rocks, and the Huancaína sauce had absolutely no flavor. We politely and respectfully informed the waiter about the food. He kindly offered to either change the dishes or give us a refund. We asked to switch to "tallarines verdes," but the waiter himself warned us it would be the exact same issue since they used the same overcooked noodles. So, we asked for a refund for just those two dishes, making it clear we would pay for the rest. Two minutes later, the owner started arguing loudly with the waiter, saying he wouldn't refund anything. He then approached our table and was incredibly disrespectful to us. I was with my family, and my two young daughters were terrified by the owner's aggressive behavior. The situation got so bad that we had to call the police, though they told us they couldn't do anything about a financial dispute. In the end, we spent about $120, and out of the 5 dishes we ordered, we only ate the ceviche. My daughters went hungry because I had to get them out of that place immediately. This restaurant serves anything but authentic Peruvian food. Do not eat here!

We were given menus and a few minutes later asked if we wanted anything to drink, and if we were also ready to order. We asked for a few extra minutes. When I saw the menu, I thought, and should have stuck to my gut, that the "Peruvian style Chinese" is a what the hell does that mean situation. Man, did I go wrong for not giving that a hell naah! The waitress brought out some hot bread and butter, as well as cold iced waters for us. We than placed our order. We ordered a chaufa de pollo (chicken fried rice), parihuela (soup), and a jalea (fried seafood). When the food came, all the smells hit, and I just knew it was not what I wanted or expected. I was expecting awesome wok-charred fried rice. What I got was some barely wok-ed rice, no depth of flavor, but lots of a CHINESE flavor/seasoning. HORRIBLE, why would you do this?!? What the hell!!!! This is definitely not what Peruvian fried rice is. No where near what it should be. The parihuela is something I've never had, so I cannot compare it to any others, but from it being my first time trying this, this is what i think. I think it was actually pretty good. It had lots of seafood umami (flavor). It had great depth. It had lots of crab smell, but why no crab? None at all, just the smell. Lots of fish and squid. The jalea, yucca not fried enough, it was slightly under. Lots of lemon-ny red onions on top, which is great as it helps cut all the nasty feelings of eating fried stuff. Only two pieces of shrimps, that were small too! It had 4 pieces of fish, and the rest was calamari. I am fine with it, but the shrimps should be larger. The batter should be thinner. The pieces should be crispier. Nothing great about this dish. It's so easy, yet it was not thought of well enough to make it great. Don't waste your time or money here. It's not authentic. It's not great. It's just passable food. The best thing of this meal was the bread and butter, and the cold iced water. The service was good too, but the food was not up to par. I feel like they may have made my food according to us being Asian, but who knows and who cares, I don't plan on coming back.

I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink.
