From the moment we laid eyes on the pastry case, our jaws were on the floor. Everything we had was amazing -- the breakfast sandwich on sourdough, ham & cheese croissant, matcha cheesecake blueberry croissant tart, and the brie country ham & hot honey galette. JUST WOW! We also got some lattes to fuel our morning and I opted for their special brown butter sesame latte -- yum! The bakery itself is very cute with some market and pantry items available to shop as well. The staff was very patient as we asked a million questions about all the pastries before making our selections. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the downtown Jax area!

A cute little spot with a lot of specialized baked goods that will make you want to get one of everything. The service was super friendly and helpful. We ended up getting a few of the baked goods to share for breakfast and I got the matcha lemonade. The lemonade was a good change of pace from my usual matcha latte. To share, we got the matcha cheesecake blueberries danish, the brie country ham and hot honey galette, and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was delicious and devoured! The inside is also super cute to peruse around and maybe grab something. They have stickers, and a few odds and ends that might interest anyone to get at least one thing. Such a cute bakehouse in Jax!

Service was not great, they tell you to grab a menu and seat yourself, which was fine but the lady at the front seemed busy and couldnt greet us. Juices tasted watered down, rice tasted almost like it was old. The only great thing here was the steak and the deep fried pork, otherwise we will not be back but this place has potential if they provide better service and keep consistency in their food.

My very first visit brought back fun foodie memories when visiting Puerto Rico several times and eating many homemade dishes when I lived In NJ. My favorite Latin sounds could be heard while outside of the restaurant and more so upon entering. The interior decor was spacious and made me feel like I was away on vacation in P.R. Staff was welcoming and friendly. The owner helped make me feel at home and was super professional. Then came the food and my refreshing non-alcoholic drink. My appetizer was a lobster empanada...Oh my how yummy! One of the lunch specials of the day was a Chinese Puerto Rican fusion style fried rice platter. My choice of protein was the popular fried pork chunks. French fries and an egg roll were included in the platter. Another popular favorite condiment was the "Mayo-Ketchup" sauce that one can drizzle on the food and as much as you please! To help wash down and add a nice sweet balance to the food, I ordered the "Guayaba" fruit juice. Fruity and tropical taste of its own. I skipped breakfast knowing that this visit would require some nice portions to enjoy. I was right and very pleased with the overall taste of the food. If you haven't had Latin food from the Caribbean then hopefully you'll consider visiting Flavorikan and try some of their cuisine. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

We've been to Crispy's a handful of times over the past few months and tried a few things on the menu. Nearly every time we've been there we've seen pizzas go by us and thought "dang, we really need to try their pizza some time". So when we decided to go there tonight I figured we'd finally do that. In addition to that, my wife informed me that she was going to have Garlic Knots no matter what. So yes, we ordered Garlic Knots to start. I don't know why, but I was expecting them to be a bit tough. I guess maybe I've just had them at other places and they're usually thick / tough, so that's what I figured these would be. They weren't. They were really soft, in the best way. Not doughy or under cooked, just soft, warm and very good! We debated what pizza to go with and eventually settled on The Klutho, which is more or less their meat lovers pizza. We also did the garlic butter crust at the suggestion of our server. I'll start by saying thank you to our server for that suggestion because that was some good crust. I'm happy to report that we both thought the pizza tasted as good as we both thought it looked every time it went by us before. Let me put it this way: if the pizza in my photo looks great to you, yes, it's that good. Like I said, we've been to Crispy's a few times over the past couple of months and we just like the place a lot. We didn't plan to go there tonight when the day began but I'm glad it worked out that we ended up there. Now we've got about half a pizza to split for work-from-home lunches over the next few days.
