    Chicken sandwich with Plantain chips

My two friends & I wanted to try this new restaurant in Murray Hill. Chancho King's an Ecuadorian restaurant. The food was so delicious with unique flavor. Perfectly spiced & so tasty. We all chose the sandwiches. It appeared small but it was just right for my appetite. I also tried the Chicken soup with Choclo with giant corn kernels, starchy, with slightly nutty flavor. It was flavorful & so delicious. Service was great. I did not have to wait long for my food. The restaurant ambiance had a South American flair. I'll be back for anything Choclo. Right after my visit, the restaurant was named 2026 James Beard Awards Finalist for Best Chef in the South. Mayor Deegan presented the award. Wow! So Impressive.

10/10. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Sunday, they have brunch and the specials change often. I got the yuca de pann as an app and the grilled octopus as an entree. It came with the most perfect focaccia bread and chimichurri sauce. My only complaint is that all of our tables food came out at different times. But everyone enjoyed all of the food and the atmosphere. We all loved the blackberry Agua Fresca as well! Can't wait to come back and try new things.

Tried the location at The Block... Had the beef sando with pan de yuca. The beef was tender, went perfectly with the egg and paired nicely with the yuca. This sandwich was so good almost went back for seconds. The ambiance was clean and service was super friendly. Make sure to look for a table quickly as the block is always packed.

Sundays at Chancho are special! The menu is seafood centric- red fish grilled or fried, grilled octopus, and the most exceptional oysters I've ever had. I love sitting at the counter because everyone is so friendly, and you get to observe the staff making their magic right there in the kitchen. This place is always bright, clean and comfortable, bustling, with a welcoming vibe. I can't say enough great things about this place and feel so fortunate that it's here in Jacksonville!

I finally got to try Chancho King and am so glad I did! The vibe inside is casual but great -- it's like walking into a smaller restaurant in a big city. I ordered with a nice guy at the counter and took a seat nearby where I got a glimpse into the kitchen (which stuck out to me for how nice they were to each other back there...and how great they were with avoiding cross-contamination). My piping hot pan de yuca came out first and was delicious. I had never had pan de yuca with this texture before -- it was fried but still airy and lumpy rather than uniform (but in a good way!). The craggy outside added to the texture and helped scooped up some of the sauce. My entree was the mushroom llapingacho plate. I had never had llapingacho before but definitely will again. The dish was total comfort food for me (and I later learned it's considered comfort food in Ecuador, too); it was flavorful and creamy on its own and made even better with the fried egg on top. I enjoyed the mushrooms and rice, too. I also got a hibiscus drink that was delicious, although I'm bias because hibiscus is one of my very favorite flavors. So, I got a great meal in a great place at a reasonable price. That's a big win these days.

LOVE Chancho King! This family owned neighborhood spot is amazing and I'm so thankful for its addition to Murray Hill. We come here frequently for lunch and I enjoy getting the rice bowl with mushrooms and flattened plaintains. They always have delicious fresh juice as well as daily specials. I have yet to attend Chancho late night, but it is the talk of the town! Friday nights- different menu and fun vibe. Overall if you're reading this- just go!

Super hip spot in Murray Hill. We did take out. It was for four hungry adults so we had an assortment of items. All were very tasty, staff was friendly an helpful with info. Would love to dine in next visit.

Casual eatery with fresh and delicious food! There was a line out the door when we arrived (always a good sign!) We ordered the OG pork Sammie with pink led onions and pork rind, which came with plantain chips (lots of flavor!), an order of beef and Parmesan empanadas, a beer and a hibiscus juice, along with a special sweet plantain and coconut bread pudding with caramel sauce. Beautiful outdoor space too! Everything was tasty! We could watch them making everything which was fun. This place has well earned reviews! Definitely a great spot!

Love Chanco King! Such a wonderful place to eat out and explore a new cuisine. We've gone for weeknight dinners, ceviche sundays, and their late night Friday's and they never disappoint! Pro tip- try something new! You won't regret it!

Chancho King is top notch - one of the best places to get a bite in Jacksonville. Their Ecuadorian dishes are amazing! My go-to is the chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken with pickled vegetables on fresh bread and a creamy sauce - it's exceptional. The choripan (chorizo) sandwich is also delicious! If you want a plate of food, their rice plates are really good too. If you want an app, I recommend the pan de yuca - delicious fried cheese balls. They have a nice selection of juices that go with whatever you are ordering and are definitely worth trying. It's a very casual and hip restaurant. You order at the counter, service is always friendly, and they bring your food to you. The indoor seating is small but very pleasant. They have a really nice outdoor area in the back with large tables for bigger groups.

Food was great but I will admit I had higher expectations given the fact that they were James Beard semifinalist. Servers were attentive and helpful. Very relaxed environment and I enjoyed brunch with friends.

I can't believe I've never visited this place before! The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It's a great spot to unwind, enjoy a drink, share a few appetizers, and spend time with friends. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to others.

This place kills it every time! Today I had the soup of the day, chicken soup. It was so flavorful and hearty. I also got my favorite apps: pan de yuca and empanada (chorizo and rice today). Every single item has so much heart, but my favorite and the best deal are the sandwiches. I'm happy to hear that they are opening another location in The Block. I hope they continue to do well but always have a home in Murray Hill.

We went this past Friday and while they had the same great food (with one exception), same decor and vibe, it seemed as if the typically impeccable service was staring to slip. The staff was in a great mood, seemed to be having a party and maybe that was some of the issue. Drinks not filled, food brought out a different points when we asked for it to be brought together etc. One of the guests requested their sauce on the side and it came right on top of her cold steak. We had to constantly grab anyone who worked there to get help and get served or drink refills. Very atypical of Prospect. I'm reviewing again to be constructive. I still love Prospect and I need them to be the excellent experience they have always been. I'm truly hoping this was a one off afternoon.

The ambiance is so pretty and was a quiet slow dinner that we enjoyed. All of the food was delicious and tasted fresh. My Teen enjoyed gnocchi and I also had a spinach salad with a housemade dressing that didn't get a pic. Dessert and coffee topped the meal off perfectly. Now I'm still on the hunt for a match to Venieros butter cookie with a chocolate drop but this restaurant will ease my homesick feeling for NY Italian food for a while. Thanks George! See you soon.

She made sure to check up on us, answered all of our questions, and refilled our drinks often. It was super clean there too! We were started off with some fresh, warm bread and a balsamic/olive oil dipping sauce. The bread was perfectly crispy and went so well with the dipping sauce. We were served cold bread before at restaurant so I'm glad we had warm bread! We decided on the following appetizer and entrees: Fried meat ravioli - 8/10: it came out piping hot and it was so delicious! Fried to a nice, golden brown and covered in panko crumbs, it didn't feel heavy at all. It came with a fresh marinara sauce and had parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the fried ravioli. Each bite was cheesy, crispy, tasty, meaty, and we devoured it quickly! Carbonara Alla Roma - 8.5/10: I thought the portion would be small since I seen photos online but it was actually a great portion. I had enough to take home and eat as leftovers! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the alfredo sauce was balanced and decadent. I could taste the pecorino romano, and cracked black pepper. The pancetta was smoky and added a nice umami flavor to the pasta. I didn't rate it higher because it was slightly missing a little bit of of that BAM factor! but it was pretty delicious! The Sofi - chicken - 9/10: Oh my gosh! My best friend got this and I wished I would have too! It was sooooooooooooooooooo good! It had prosciutto di parma, mushrooms, asparagus, shallots, cooked in wine and tossed in a rose cream sauce. The pasta was also cooked perfectly and that sauce was to die for! Each bite was like tasting the finest flavors and spices of Italy. I could not believe how tasty this was! If you come here, you HAVE to try this dish! Tiramisu - 9.5/10: One of the best tiramisus we've had in Jacksonville. It was the perfect amount of espresso and cream. They had dollops of chocolate sauce on the side and helped elevated the flavor of the tiramisu. It also wasn't super sweet which we appreciate. We don't really like overly sweet desserts and this one hits the mark on everything. Overall, service, food, and atmosphere was great! We would definitely come back to try other menu items!
