They have some of the best Indian food I've had in the area. The menu is large with a lot of options. They have a full bar with decently prices bottles of wine. The staff was very attentive this visit, more so than they have been in the past. Although we have enjoyed Paradise in the past, this visit left us very disappointed. Among the many issues, there was a hair in our food and old food stuck on our glassware. Silverware was visibly dirty with waves and smudges of grease. The servers forgot half our dishes. Entrees were served 20 minutes apart, and cold when they arrived. Many different servers attended our table and did not seem to know what each other was up to. Few patrons were there at peak on Friday. I used to love this place. Their curry was seriously delicious and it became my guilty pleasure. I'd order it on DoorDash all the time or stop in and pick it up. For a while it was easily my favorite spot. But the last couple of times I've ordered, something has definitely changed. I have to say the staff here are awesome. They are always so friendly and when we order here it's not unusual to find extra food in our order beyond what we ordered. So nice! The menu is large and so far everything we've ordered has been really good and very fresh tasting. The only reason this place didn't get a 5 star from me is that it's on the expensive side. Last order my daughter bought food she and I computerized of two entrees which come with rice, and two appetizers and the total was more than $60. So just beware. But I still recommend the place. We love Indian food so decided to check this place out before we went to our play at Hale theater. We had a group of 8 of us and we were seated quickly. We ordered the lamb coconut korma and the butter chicken (both medium heat). Both dishes were good but not amazing. The heat was too strong for me and I should have ordered the mild. You never know how spicy Indian food is on the mild/medium scale between restaurants. My sister ordered the vijayawada buryani with chicken and absolutely loved it but she had the medium spice as well and it was too spicy. She said she would definitely order it again, just with mild spice and she loves spicy things. Another sister ordered the daal and it was just okay. Not much flavor plus it was too spicy for her as well. The mango lassi was a little thick with not much mango flavor. At the end of our meal each couple got their checks and we put our credit cards for her to run them. When she brought them back to us my husband noticed that ours had my brother in laws name from his credit card on ours. She ran both checks under his card instead of doing one on ours. I have eaten at this restaurant for years, and loved it. Something has changed. In the past we have had amazing food here. I have picked up takeout quite often and have almost always been pleased. The service has always been good and with takeout they have always been very patient. The menu has been very inclusive and my husband, who is pretty adventurous has a pretty easy time finding something new and has an easy time finding something he loves. Today was a HUGE disappointment. We ordered a go to, Butter Chicken, which seemed not bad, per se, just not as amazing as I am used to. Methi curry, I have no reference for taste, and it was good, so try it if you curry, my husband really liked it. Vegetable samosas, another regular purchase from this restaurant. The good news, the inside was good. The bad news, the outside was more salty than it should have been. Wow, just wow! Absolutely incredible is how I would describe this place! I ordered the Ghee Roasted Chicken Biryani, and it did not disappoint! There is so much flavor and portions are flexing so come hungry. The flavors are layered, and the service staff takes time to educate approach and inclusion. It was very delicious and certainly what will bring me back again! The staff is extremely polite and nice. We ordered a variety of appetizers, meals, and cocktails. (They have mocktails too, which was great for my 18yr old son). The environment was nice, decent seating, and plays some authentic music, where you can watch music videos of over the bar. Three years ago we visited this establishment for dinner and only gave it three stars. This time, we returned to a much more pleasant dinner experience...but at a price. My wife and I had dinner there on 16 Oct and were promptly seated and provided with menus and water. The restaurant had a few tables filled ahead of us (but got very busy later as we were finishing...), but the overall ambiance of the restaurant was much more warm and elegant...with nice water glasses on the table and white tablecloths. We had a booth against the west wall and promptly ordered with Niyaz. My wife selected the Chicken Coconut Kurma (mild), and I had the Chicken Vindaloo (medium). We also ordered a third dish...Palak Paneer (mild) along with some garlic and butter Naan and pappadums with chutney sauce (coriander and mint.) All this came with some nice hot Basmati rice in three bowls. The dinner came out promptly and was piping hot. What was impressive was the portion size. Well done, Paradise Biryani Pointe! Huge copper bowls contained each of our main courses and it was nice to see that amount of food considering the prices these days. My vindaloo was good - and medium spicy - however, so were the other two entrees. My wife ordered mild, and she got somewhere closer to medium. I could tell the palak paneer was as close to medium hot as my Vindaloo! That turned her off immediately. Niyaz brought her some complimentary cold milk and a mango lassi to cool down her burning tongue and lips...but the damage was done. Next time, we need to remember to order EXTRA MILD for her! Yikes! My Vindaloo was good and full of chicken chunks, but the sauce was oddly granular and not "creamy" like I'm typically used to. Nevertheless, it was tasty and plentiful. I had a tall Taj Mahal lager for my drink - which was de-lish - and water. Each entree was $16.00 and we got out of there at $73.00 for the entire meal (including tax.) This is my second time and I'm glad to come back. The garlic naan is more flavorful than anything else in Utah that I've tried. It also was perfectly cooked instead instead of too crispy or greasy or burned like many other places. The first time I got it as takeaway and drove 40 minutes and couldn't wait to try it from the aroma alone. Even though the naan got colder from the longer drive, it still tasted amazing which was impressive. I immediately texted a friend because it was the first satisfying and authentic biryani I have ever had in Utah. I didn't like biryani and thought it was an overrated dish until I tried this. My favorite Indian restaurant in Salt Lake City! Everything we try is full of flavor and never disappointing. The owner always makes a point to see how we're enjoying everything, which just adds to the gem we've been introduced to. Came here after the first week of opening. We came around lunch time, and was surprise how empty it was. During lunch they do a buffet, but also offer menu items if you're not a buffet person. Me and my friend decided to go with the buffet. It was great. Some items were good, some was decent. They do have a lot of empty spots in their buffet, I'm guessing maybe they were suppose to have more dishes but decided not to when we went. Their paneer was slightly different than I am use to. Instead of cubes they were cut in triangles. It was still good, just different and some of it wasn't coated properly in the sauce. The naan was good as well. They only have white rice, none of the tumeric rice. Do be careful of the cut veggies. They do cut jalapeño and my friend thought it was a bell pepper. To his surprise it wasn't. I visited back under the old name, and although I do remember it being a counter service spot, I don't remember much of the menu. Rumor has it that it's the same owners and a similar menu, but now it's waiter service. We came in on a weeknight and enjoyed chatting with the staff, who made some recommendations. Based off of their "you can't go wrong and we have a lot of what you might find elsewhere" it was hard to narrow in on anything, but we ended up with the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani and they were kind enough to let us substitute goat into a tikka masala. And then of course we ordrered naan because duh, of course you do. I was glad that we got those two dishes, as the rice in the biryani needed a little bit of moisture or sauce and the curry from the masala was just the ticket. We amped up the heat a little on both and it was still tolerable. The masala was nice and round, and the goat was a good addition, although three of the large pieces were nothing but bone. All in all, it was a really enjoyable meal, and the staff was really fun and friendly. This restaurent has a weekend breakfast buffet. WE had been there few times for dinner and it used to be ok and thought it would be the same case in breakfast. However, we had our worst disappointment. We reached there at around 10.45 AM and alas no one was there. We tried, still. All of the gravys (Sambar, Chutney) were ice cold (directly from fridge and not even room temperature heat) and not fit to eat. I suspect they were all of previous day and they did not even bother to heat it up. I would not recommend breakfast here based on my experience. I request owners to monitor better and improve. Ate the most delicious dinner here tonight. We eat Indian Food on Christmas Day each year and wanted to try someplace new. They were a little short staffed and pretty busy, but understood for the holiday. I can confidently say after 15 plus years of eating Indian food regularly - they have the best Samosas I've ever had.
