I'm sold on Munich Auto aka austinbmwrepair. Great service, fair prices, and great explanations of what needs to be repaired and why. It is one of the few shops where the mechanics actually literally show you the problem needing repair by going through it on your car. Austin BMW wanted to charge me $2500 for an issue resulting in a "service engine soon light", but Munich Auto showed me the real problem, repaired the issue and fixed a few other things as well for $600. I couldn't be happier. I will not be going anywhere else for my BMW repairs. read more

I ran into an issue with my 2007 BMW X3 late Sunday night and I feared that the car was no longer safe to drive. I got up early Monday morning and filled out Munich's online form before they even had a chance to open. Within in 15 minutes of hitting send, I received a call back from Ray (the owner) asking me how he could help. To my surprise Munich was able to squeeze me into their busy schedule. I quickly dropped off my car and waited for the news! Within 2 hours Ray called me back with a very detailed report on my immediate and long term fixes. Ray, thank you. You are a terrific mechanic that provided me with excellent service and a stress free experience (on very short notice). It was late Friday afternoon, and the regulator on my rear window failed on my 335i. I couldn't close my window and was worried about rain and driving my car through the weekend in cold temps until someone could service me on Monday. I called different shops late Friday night, but Ray is the only one that answered. He diagnosed my issue on the spot, quoted me, ordered the right part first thing Saturday morning and finished the job by noon. There was no up-selling and no taking advantage of my situation. They seem to go the extra mile when they can, I would recommend them for any bmw service. Maybe it's their proximity to the bmw dealership, but their turnaround times are very very good. read more

These guys were great. My a/c suddenly stopped working out of the blue. The local dealership told me my a/c condenser was damaged by road debris which would not be covered under warranty. As you can imagine, the dealership's price to repair was absurd. Munich was able to make the repair immediately, at a fraction of the cost. I feel super confident in their abilities and will continue to use them for any maintenance and repair work needed. read more

Not sure how to rate this shop. Car was worked on quickly. Said I had bad motor mounts, engine vibrates worse when we picked it up than when we brought it in. Will have to fix the motor mounts myself. They diagnosed a leak in the valve cover - I said I'd fix it. I fixed it, but it wasn't a problem, and not where the leak was. So don't know how much I trust the 2k work they did. read more

Thanks to Ray and his team. I bought a used 2010 Mini Cooper for my daughter's first car and the car had the check engine light on. Ray was able to identify what the error codes were and make the necessary repairs within a day. Ray quoted the cost and actually came in under cost for all the repairs. As I explain to Ray that this was for my 15 year old daughter and that her safety was a priority for me he assured me that he would make sure that it was ready for her. I have been trying for a while to find a shop where I feel confident taking my BMW. I have found that shop in Munich Auto. The shop I first took my 335i to incorrectly diagnosed my issue and luckily did not have the capability to fix so based on a recommendation I took it to Munich. Munich correctly identified the issue, which was much less than original shop estimate, and was expeditious in repairing. My extended warranty company was being difficult in authorization and Munich went above and beyond working with extended warranty to ensure my repairs covered! Thank you Ray and Chris!!! read more

Two recent visits for a 2011 335i sedan I just bought used. Both times they saw me same day (dealer was 3-4 days out), had the work done that day, and charged less than the dealer. In the case of an oil leak, less than half the dealer quote. They recommend more frequent oil changes than the dealer, which is cheap insurance for a car you plan to hang onto. read more

I was referred to Ray at Munich Auto by a good friend of mine, I was just having a rough time and my M3 going down didn't help my situation at all, especially when it happens 3 hours away from home. Used Roadside to have the car towed to the local BMW dealership and boy was that a joke, they tried to sell me the most expensive fix there was which is what I was expecting. I finally got the car back to Austin and had it dropped off to there shop. I explained to Ray I was having a stretch of bad luck and money was tight at the moment and this wasn't helping my situation. He immediately hooked up the software and started pin pointing the possible causes. He didnt even mind me hanging out and watching picking up on little pointers.
