Took my Porsche in because the right front end was dipping like I needed work on the air suspension which can be very costly. (7-9k). They called me the next day and said it was a "clip assembly" and the "come pick it up". When I got there, the bill was ZERO! Zero?? Really? Not gonna charge me anything!? They told me it was an easy fix and only took five minutes and again told me it's no charge! I've done business with them before and was equally impressed with their work, reasonable price and professionalism on that visit as well!! If the only thing your shop can do properly is oil changes, please consider becoming a jiffy lube chain. Attached is a picture of me taking my car from Dr. Beemer to another shop. I brought my M3 in because something was smoking from the engine bay. I had the car towed to the shop and asked them to diag the car and see what was potentially wrong. I let them know that my transmission might be near its life and to check on that if possible. What happened over the few weeks was just not acceptable to me. After taking the car in, they told me I needed a new battery, which it definitely did. They charged me $300 to put in a new battery, and then another $125 for a wrong diagnosis. They didn't do any research into the car and decided that the SMG pump, clutch, and flywheel needed to be replaced, a repair that easily costs upwards of $4-5K. (simply because I told them I THOUGHT the transmission was the issue) After some discussion, we decided that I would pull it out and take it elsewhere (I was not ready to spend upwards of $4000 at the moment). When I picked up the car, the power steering was leaking and obviously made a noise indicating something was wrong. Upon taking it to another shop, they looked at my car and within a few days told me the following: -The SMG pump was not bad and infact just had low fluid. - the powersteering hose lines had been worn out due to bad engine mounts, which was causing the smoke from the engine bay. The new shop (Active Euroworks) had me out the door for $2600 (including PS fix, pulleys, engine mounts) and my car drives extremely well now. So essentially I paid Dr. Beemer $300 for a new battery and $125 for a misdiagnosis that would make them a lot more money. (also could factor in the cost of the trailer to go and get the car from them too after towing it to them initally). I'm extremely disappointed in this shop for wasting my time and money; again, consider running a jiffy lube chain if all you want to do is turn over cars for oil changes. read more

Who knew they worked on cars other than BMW's? I live in Lakeway and have a Mercedes and it's very far to go to the Mercedes dealership. I stopped in because a light came on and it wasn't due for service. A young man by the name of David, who apparently, is the new owner, was unbelievably kind and professional. He had his guys look at it and it turned out just to be a tire thing with the change of temperature and the weather. He explained that they do full service on on all cars. Terrible customer service, took my car in and was told 2 things were wrong, 1 of them they couldn't fix and needed to be taken to dealer. Called to setup a fix for problem they could fix, and after 2days of phone tag was told to bring it in, and they would call me back when they got the parts from dealer. Never got a call after a full 24 hours I called the next morning, to them saying they weren't going to fix anything now. I was told they were going to take off 200 from the diagnostics towards the problem, that they aren't fixing now. Don't take your vehicle here, place will rip you off. read more

Brought in my 2015 BMW 435i Gran Coupe in because of a small oil leak and the engine heating up a little too quickly. My oil filter housing gasket was the culprit, but it was leaking all over my drive belt/ tensioner as well. Dane ended up checking out the whole car due to it just passing 100k miles and found a few more things wrong with my car, such as blown struts, brake pads with about 5mm left, and some other minor things. After speaking with Dane about everything, I originally was only going to get a few things fixed due to the cost of everything but Dane was extremely helpful pointing out the things that absolutely needed to be fixed and things I could possibly hold off on. Just honest recommendations and not trying to oversell me on anything, ended up getting everything fixed because of their professionalism and ability to work with me. I will 100% be coming back to Dr. Beemer in the future if my car is ever acting up again, but hopefully not anytime soon! Would recommend them to anyone who has a BMW and doesn't want to pay for it to be fixed at the dealership! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!! Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. They replaced a rack and pinion on my vehicle for $1800.00. I thought I was getting a deal because the dealership wanted $4,000.00. Picked up the vehicle, drove from Austin to San Antonio and the vehicle is blowing oil all over the highway from where they cracked one of the high pressure fuel pumps that sits by the oil pan. Took the vehicle back to Dr. Beemer, they quoted me $15,000.00 to fix it. I refused and bought the part independently for $600.00, had another shop install it for $200.00. Car is running fine!! I absolutely recommend this place! My 328xi GT has all kinds of issues that I was worried would have astronomical repair costs and kept me from taking it in for months. When I finally got around to it, Mark worked hard to get everything he could covered by my extended warranty and had it running like a dream within a week for an affordable price. The process was great, and he also gave me a heads up on what wasn't critical at the moment but would need to address in the near future, along with a quote for what to expect when the time comes. While on a cross-country drive from California to Ohio, the handbrake warning light popped on after hitting a huge bump (CA roads are criminally aweful). Called ahead to Dr. Beemer since we were stopping in Austin and they got me scheduled for first thing on Monday. I brought they had it up on the lift immediately. Mark and team were great. He walked me through the diagnosis, let me know it wasn't a safety issue and it could be dealt with when I arrive at my destination. Great service and experience with the Dr. Beemer team. I've taken my car here twice now. Both of my visits went beyond my expectations. First, they replaced an oil housing gasket for me at the last minute. This most recent time (today), they did a brake fluid flush and looked at an error message I was getting from my iDrive concerning a signal bulb malfunction. Turns out, my FMR is likely defective. Now, most shops would try to explain why it's out and how they can replace it for you. Not Dr. Beemer, the service tech shared that I likely was within my warranty (I drive an e92 2012 coupe) for a known issue. I was blown away their team did the right thing and directed me back to BMW as I was under the assumption I'm way out from under any warranties. This is how you build relationships and trust. I was quoted a price and approximate time when I made the appointment, both were precisely met. Had a very logical thought on what the problem was before bringing it in and communicated along the way as they were fixing the vehicle. I know diagnosing a car isn't an exact science, but I appreciated the fact that someone was willing to discuss likely causes without just saying "yeah bring her in and we'll see what we find." Ultimately, the repairs diagnosed were not as severe as we originally thought, and the charges were very fair (honestly I felt like they underestimated the amount of labor they spent, but I'm not complaining!). Bad costumer service, I took my range rover to get diagnosed and fix, after couple days later I called to check and they didn't had time they say to go true it so they promise to call me back the next day with update, two days later no call so I show up and they say my truck is next on the lift they show me that in fact there's was a Range Rover that is was getting finish. so at that time I felt some how pleased that I was next and they seem like they know the job. wrong , they response was that fixing my truck was a liability because they might have to break some toasted plastic I had and I say no problem please proceed , then they came up with the diagnosis m I need a new transfer case he thro a number thinking it will scare me and to me it was fine I been owning this vehicle for years , I know , the tone was more like look I don't think you can afford this ... and asking me if I really love this truck . I ask why they denied me service when they show me they can do the job n a broke plastic is not a problem , they seem bad taking 700 bucks for a bad service , they didn't even have me a diagnosiss in paper I left very disappointed read more

Took my Mini in last year with an oil leak. After inspecting it they called back and indicated the crankshaft seal needed to be replaced. Also recommended replacing the belt since it had oil on it. Expensive. Picked the car up. Was not using it much because of COVID. However, it continued to leak and I took it back. Beemer called and admitted they had failed to torque something correctly and said no problem they would fix it correctly at no cost. I thanked them for their honesty. However, the next day they called and said they also thought it could be leaking from the value covers. More money. Got it home and it appeared to continue to leak. Took it back and they indicated some vacuum component needed to be replaced - again for large money. As it talked with them it became clear they were just going through a list of things it could be vs something they had correctly diagnosed. Total repairs were going to exceed the value of the car. I was not happy, but went down and picked it up. A short time later, the belt fell out in the driveway. I called them, left a message what had happened. No call back. Repeated that twice more. Clearly they were ducking the call. Ended up just buying a new belt and replacing it myself. Worked fine afterward. However, when I did the work could see several wheel liner screws they left out when they were working on the car. Basically they are very convenient, seem very friendly. I guess they can perform routine service work - but they don't really have a diagnostic capability or the experience to make more complicated repairs. Obviously I am not going back and could not recommend them to anyone. read more

Posting again, looks like the folks at Dr. Beemer don't like actual reviews here and contacted yelp to remove it. Emailed to get an estimate on replacing the thermostat assembly on a 2006 Range Rover Sport. The quote was about $20 cheaper than the Land Rover Dealer in Austin and they said I can bring it in first thing in the morning. Since I lived super close and wanted to support a local business I thought I give these guys a try - big mistake. Dropped off the car around 9:30 am. The place was empty and I was told the service manager would give me a call to go over the repair. 1 hour passes by - nothing, 2 hours pass - nothing, 3 hours pass - nothing, 4 hours pass - nothing, no call no email. I was told the car will be ready end of day and I have not heard a single thing from these guys. At 1:45 pm I reach out and send them an email asking for an update....surprise, no response. Around 3:30 pm I call and speak with the receptionist saying the service manager is busy and will call me back. Around 4 pm the service manager calls. Since they had the car now for almost 7 hours I assume it was a call to let me know the car is ready and I can pick it up. NOPE. Service manager tells me the quote is now going to be about $130 more because the original quote was for a thermostat assembly and not the housing. After some back and forth he finally admits that the original quote was a mistake - the BS excuse that the estimate was for a "housing" and not the "assembly" was an excuse to cover their mistake - it's the same THING!!!! I could have taken this car to the dealer and gotten a free loaner and it would have been CHEAPER!!!! Well, I needed the car for work since it is my daily driver and I felt stuck so I told him to go ahead and do the repair. He said he would give me a discount on labor BUT it was STILL MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE DEALER! I was told the car will be ready the next morning at 10:30 am and that he will call me first thing in the morning to give me an update. Well, surprise, it is 10 am no call, 10:15 am no call, around 10:20 am I send him a text asking if the car is ready.....NO RESPONSE. Around 10:25 I call and speak with the receptionist and was told the car SHOULD be ready. Well it wasn't ready I got there around 10:30 am and was told he mechanic was finishing things up. Of course, the place is empty and I'm the only customer when I show up. I can maybe understand if they had customers out of the door but the place was a ghost town! Here is the kicker. When I go to pay I show them the 15% coupon on YELP to use. They said I can't use it since they have already "discounted" the price. I show them the coupon and tell them there is no mention of any special conditions on the coupon. They just look at me and say nope. So please be aware if you are thinking of using the coupon on YELP they will make up some excuse not honoring it. Response from the owner: I was satisfied up until checkout when I was refused the coupon due to multiple coupons. HUH? I was NOT HAPPY when NO ONE called or informed me about my car. I was NOT happy when you guys gave me a wrong estimate and overcharged me. I was unhappy with EVERY ASPECT of my visit Worst experience of my life. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Dr Beemer for the last 3 years having our BMWs serviced here and we were always satisfied with the job done, care and friendly environment of the staff. Brian (owner) is a great guy who really cares about his customers and service that he provides to the cars. He knows these cars inside and out, old and new. Having ONLY BMWs for last 15 years, we know how pricey and tricky the repairs can be for these cars, especially if you use dealerships or general mechanic shops. Which actually does not guarantee that the correct issue will be diagnosed and fixed in your car. Never with Dr. Beemer. Brian always guarantees his work and parts if something goes wrong after the repair - no questions asked. That is a huge plus for us. The prices are very reasonable for a BMW specialist, knowing from personal experience. After moving to Austin 3 years ago we knew that we needed to find a professional and trustworthy place to service our BMWs. After thorough research - South location was our place to go but it was a bit far from where we live - but we had no other choice. When the North Location opened up we were so happy, since it's in our neighborhood. One of our BMWs is 2005 and it needed some expected repairs a fews weeks ago and we took it to North location with confidence. As expected, new location has great, friendly and professional staff, shop itself is clean, organized and has top of the line equipment. Feels like your are in BMW factory in Germany. ***DO NOT*** trust your BMW with these people. I bought a new BMW 3 weeks ago. The car did not have a back up camera so BMW sent me a website to order one from and suggested I take it to a shop that specializes in BMWs. I called Dr Beemer and was told the same thing, "Buy a camera and bring it in and we will install it, no problem." Last Friday, 11/16 I took my car into Dr. Beemer. Mark called me and told me it would be 5 hours of labor and the total would be close to $650. The camera website suggests it is a 4 hour install but Mark told me his technician, Justin, had never installed one before, so if anything it may take him longer. This was a little fishy to me, but I trusted Mark and Dr Beemer as they assured me they could do the install. A few hours later Mark called me to inform me that the camera was in, however they could not figure out how to get the camera and my idrive system to work simultaneously and that it needed to be coded. He told me I could pay and come pick it up! Obviously, I was upset that they could not complete the job. Upon realizing this, Mark knocked $100 off and told me to come get the vehicle. I promptly called the camera company upset that they had not sent me a coding cable for Dr Beemer to complete this install. The camera company insisted this particular camera and my vehicle required no coding what so ever. I have spoken to 4 different reps at the camera company that have told me the same thing. They also provided me with the contact information of a shop in town that could install this camera without any coding. I am now having to pay ADDITIONAL labor charges for another shop to correct Dr. Beemers error. On top of this, as soon as I got my car back I noticed Dr. Beemer had damaged the screen of my BMW. I immediately called Mark who told me he would have to discuss this with the owner, Brian. A couple of days later Mark called me back to inform me that he did not feel his technician could have possibly damaged the screen that he was working around/plugging the camera in to. Mark also suggested that my elderly father who dropped the vehicle off for me had thought it was a touch screen and damaged it. My father has driven BMWs for over 10 years and knows fully how they operate. Dr. Beemer refuses to take any sort of ownership of the damage and cost me $550 to do absolutely nothing for me (not including the charges I will incur to repair my screen.) DO NOT take your vehicle to these people unless you enjoy wasting TIME and MONEY. read more
