Bottom line on top; miscommunication on appt. timing - (did not receive a phone call ahead of time for a 7:10am arrival). Unaware of who was banging on door, the service tech and I did not see eye to eye. Communication could have prevented ugly here. Afterwards, a conversation with "manager" included shocking, unprofessional comments including "can you not read" then threatened me by asking if he needed to "come to my house and read it to my face" - then proceeded to call me "a retard" and again before hanging up "a f*ck*** retard" Taken back with the language but would have loved to have the convo in person as I am 100% certain he would not have chosen such words to my face. Volatile person running that shop. Backflow boy needs anger management, business 101, probably should have started with getting his high school education before working in the real world. read more

Avoid This Company - Unethical and Harassing Behavior This backflow company is completely unprofessional and deceptive. They send technicians without confirmed appointments, and then demand payment for services you never scheduled. A few weeks later, they double the invoice amount, using scare tactics and aggressive follow-ups to try and force payment. This is not how a legitimate business operates. Their behavior is harassing, dishonest, and borders on fraud. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and urge anyone reading this to stay far away. Please do not hire municipal backflow! They are a shady service! I got their mail and thought that this service would be cheaper than what I usually go for. They originally scheduled for a backflow test on a date but arrived a few days earlier. I was ready to turn on the irrigation water for testing but since they arrived sooner and didn't even have the courtesy to knock on the door, the water was still shut off and they left the property. They initially refrained from giving me a courtesy discount and put me on hold. I called them the second time and this time around they gave me a minor discount. I ended up paying for the service without having the test done. The owner calls me back and conversation started out fine and then he started berating me and started using fowl language upon which I hung up the phone. I will not hire them for any future backflow service needs. I am going back to my usual testing provider. read more

I have been using Municipal Backflow to perform the required lawn sprinkler backflow test for at least the last 5 years. After reading many of the 5 Star reviews here, all I can do is to agree with and repeat everything that others have said. They are very professional and easy to deal with. The reminder notifications are in you inbox in early/mid April. You get an invoice in your inbox as soon as the plumber finishes and gets back in their truck. The cost is extremely competitive. I have been with this company for the past four years. It provides very efficient and fast service. Always on time.

E mail notice sent Friday June 20 states "one day notice" meaning service on Saturday June 21 but it didn't happen and was unlikely it being Saturday Then a further email gave an odd window of arrival between 1157am and 257pm on Monday June 23, equally strange. He arrived at 1120am without explanation and was barely tolerant of questions about the computerized system. Summary: they care more about themselves than customers, even charging $165 for no shows of which their are likely more than a few considering their scheduling process. read more

I have used this company for several years and never had an issue. This time the tech that showed up was aggressively knocking ringing my bell, looking in my windows. He was on my ring doorbell for 2 minutes (with a timer) while my stepson put our dogs away. My stepson then went in garage to let him in and the man was already in my garage, handed him a trip charge bill and left without performing services. My stepson drove over an hour from Wis. to be there to answer door. I emailed the company to report the work wasn't done and they accused my stepson of lying and saying that he didn't know anything about the scheduled service. The service provider was there maybe a total of 3 minutes. He was acting very angry over waiting for us to put the dogs away. The person emailing back was very rude and said I was questioning the integrity of the plumber. Hello? You're accusing my stepson of lying. She was also stating we had three cars in the driveway, not sure what relevance that had. I have never been subjected to such rude behavior by a service provider. Will never call them again. I hope they don't continue to try to collect $125 trip charge when the work easily could've been done in a timely manner. read more
