The last time I visited Muqueca was years ago so it was time to visit again. Street parking was easy and free after 6 PM. They don't take reservations but although they had many customers, we were seated right away. Our server was a very pleasant person and provided suggestions and checked-in with us during our visit. From my last visit, I recalled that their juices were delicious. I went with the blue passion and I loved it - blueberries, mango and passion fruit. We started with the Brazilian cod patties and they were really good. I was informed the sauce was very hot so I didn't try it. My main course was the moqueca completa with mussels, shrimp and fish. I was offered the upgraded moqueca with a different sauce that included coconut milk for an extra charge but I passed this time. My meal was absolutely delicious!!! portion is large so I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Next time, I'll order the shrimp and fish moqueca and try the other sauce to taste the difference. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is small and tables are close together but it wasn't loud. We sat in a corner so felt we had some privacy but could hear the conversations of the tables close to us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Fresh, tasty and decent prices. Seafood is brought very hot to the table. Crab cake was not really to my liking because it was soft. I didn't appreciate the mandatory 18% tip included in the bill, we were not told upfront It should be illegal!

I went to Muqueca around 5:30ish and it was still fairly empty, so we got seated right away. We must have made it just in time, because by 6 the restaurant was packed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has a cozy, homey vibe perfect for easing into a slow evening over good food and strong drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the fried yuca, and it was perfect. Fried and crunchy without being overcooked or overly starchy. It had just the right texture and flavor to keep you reaching for one more piece. To drink, I had a passion fruit caipirinha, which was sweet, refreshing, and strong. One was all I needed. I was definitely feeling happy after that. For our mains, we shared the Muqueca and the Feijoada. Both were great, but if I had to choose, the Feijoada stole the show. The mix of dried meat, pork, sausage, and bacon simmered in the bean stew was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. It paired perfectly with the side of white rice and sweet plantains. The Muqueca was also delicious. We had the one with fish and shrimp, and while both were good, we found ourselves leaning more toward the shrimp. Next time, I might try the shrimp and mussels version or just shrimp instead. Service was wonderful, our server was warm and friendly throughout. The only tiny miss was that we asked for water and it never came, but honestly, that's a minor detail in an otherwise perfect meal. All in all, I highly recommend Muqueca. It's authentic Brazilian flavors, generous portions, and great vibes will keep you wanting more. I can't wait to come back and work my way through more of the menu!

Service is great, super enthusiastic and friendly, happy to give reccs! Fried calamari - a bit heavier on the frying Bean soup - surprisingly very yummy and balanced flavor that isn't super bean-y Shrimp and fish muqueca - the broth is so nice and light and seafood-y, shrimp was super tender! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is crowded and always bustling![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had to wait a bit but the food was worth it

Really good Brazilian food in Inman square. Went on a Friday after work without a reservation and we were sat quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place can get busy though so we were happy to have found the place not too busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only qualm I have is they don't have menus and you have to scan a QR code. My boyfriend was having trouble with the QR code and wasn't able to see the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very friendly and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was slow at first but then picked up! They have a pitcher sangria option which I definitely recommend and for $28! Got their yuca and Portuguese sausage as a starter which was so delicious. When we got our food we noticed it was probably best to share one plate but we love leftovers! I got their Feijoada which came with rice and plantains on the side. The dish was beans, sausage, and dried meat. Very flavorful! My boyfriend got the fish, shrimp, and mussels muqueca with coconut milk and a side of rice. Will definitely be coming back but keeping in mind that it is great for sharing plates. Recommend for anyone who wants good Brazilian food.

Went with a friend and the service was so good. We shared the muqueca with shrimp, fish, and mussels. The pineapple caipirinha is better than the passion fruit if you are looking for the sweetness, but I'm pretty sure they use vodka instead of cachaça for both. I definitely recommend and think a muqueca is good for 2 people.

I've been coming to Muquecas for over a decade now. They never disappoint. I mostly order the fish and shrimp Muqueca, it's absolutely amazing! Isa, always goes above and beyond with the Costumer service each visit. If you like the authentic brazilian seafood, I highly recommend this place.

Nut allergy friendly: Everything we ordered was safe for me! We stopped in at around 8PM on a Sunday and were luckily seated immediately with a party of 5. Time to Appetizer: ~10 Minutes Time to Entree: ~25 Minutes We weren't too hungry, and ordered: -Brazilian Patties (Cod) (5/5): Perfect sharable appetizer that comes with a sauce with a really nice zesty kick. Like upgraded fish sticks. -Feijoada (4.5/5): The fried plantain was the best part of this dish. Heck, order a few of those separately! Otherwise, this was really enjoyed but quite heavy on beans. It's perfectly sharable in that respect. -Mariscada (5/5): Loved the variety of seafood and it went excellently with rice. It really is a must try. -Kids Menu Chicken Stroganoff (3.5/5): One of my party really wanted it, and the portions are quite generous (she couldn't finish it). I wouldn't come for it but it's not bad! Desserts: -Flan (5/5): Rich, creamy, not too sweet. Definitely worth a try. -Top Hat Banana (3/5): It was unique, but I can't say I'm a fan of cheese with ice cream. Plantain with ice cream, though, fantastic. Overall, a fantastic experience with unique cuisine and excellent service. Would come back again!

Considering I live in the area, I really had no excuse for waiting so long to check this place out! There's a bunch of Portuguese on Cambridge Street, but this spot is actually Brazilian. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite coming on a Sunday night, it was actually pretty busy, so that's always a good sign![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was fairly nice, without being overly upscale.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To start, we shared the Brazilian Patties. They came in either cod or chicken, so we tried both, and I preferred the cod. For the main course, we split the Moqueca, which was delicious! If you're into fish, this is the way to go. Definitely get the option with the most seafood in it. My only complaint was that the dish was a bit salty for my liking, but I absolutely loved the unique flavor. If you need to tone down the salty taste, go for one of their juices. Highly recommend if you're looking to try something different!

This has to be one of the CUTEST, family-owned restaurants I've visited yet. When you walk in, you feel like family. The decors, the atmosphere, the people - ALL LOVELY! Because I was moving out of Boston, the owners offered me a free entree and wished me luck in my future endeavors. This was such a memorable and heartwarming experience - I'll never forget it. I ordered the seafood mariscada, which came with plantain moqueca. The dish was STACKED with a well-cooked variety of seafood, and its flavor profile was outstanding. The coconut base lent it a creamy texture that complemented the seafood perfectly. I found myself unable to resist its deliciousness! The moqueca added a refreshing, citrusy kick akin to salsa, allowing me to savor a bit of everything in one dish. We also ordered the Feijoada Completa, which was a bit on the saltier side. The meat was very tender and flavorful. If you prefer something saltier, this would be the perfect dish for you! It came with fried plantains, which was SO SO SO yummy! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING! This has become one of my favorite places in Cambridge, and it was worth EVERY penny!

We were here 9 years ago. And they made the best sweet lemonade, so tasty and unique. The mussel was very fresh, it goes very well with the house made hot sauce.

I still remember when this place was located on the other side of the street, on a corner and could seat maybe 6 people. I've grown up on this food and it is my number 1 suggestion when people ask me for Brazilian food recommendations in the area. It is not what comes to mind when the average non-Brazilian thinks of Brazilian food, but it's a beautiful representation of the diversity of Brazilian cuisine. You can't go wrong with the fish muqueca. The fried fish is delicious and honestly every dish I've tried is outstanding. The muqueca is the signature dish though and it's what you should get! Get the manja de tapioca for dessert. There's a reason this place has withstood the test of time, it's delicious, lovingly prepared and authentic,

    Brandon G.

This is a wonderful place for dinner in the area! I highly recommend the lasagna de banana, at least to share. It's cheesy and sweet, crunchy and cheesy, and it's almost like a dessert. The service is relatively attentive, and I enjoy the outdoor space they they open up when it's warmer and dry outside.

Unless you wanna wait an hour or so, it's best to arrive 30min before they open to beat the rush. It's incredibly cramped and rushed inside, and you may need to share a table with others if you're a smaller party. Food is quite pricey but well worth it. We ordered the oysters (they've got a variety so you can choose), clam chowder, lobster roll, cioppino, and johnnycake. Oysters were fine, but the clam chowder was absolutely dismal. Not sure what happened, especially since it's so highly rated, but it was extremely watery and almost completely unseasoned. It could've definitely used salt at the very least. If I didn't know it was from Neptune, I'd have given it a 2/10. To my relief, the lobster roll was the total opposite. Succulent, juicy, heavenly. It was like being in Maine. The cioppino was also very good. The Johnnycake was an interesting but fun way to end the meal. It's a sweet pancake-like cornmeal covered in a syrupy glaze and topped with smoked bluefish paste, crème fraiche and caviar. I've never had anything like it. Nothing was super overpriced, but I personally prefer next door (Paulini's), which is much cheaper and while it isn't as good, it also doesn't require waiting in an hour in line. However, I think Neptune's is definitely worth a try as long as you're willing to wait in line.

I heard there was no line around 6pm that day. Other dishes ordered: Spanish octopus: it looked fabulous, but flavor profile was not my favorite. The sauce was very buttery/oily but lacked depth in flavor imo. It was greasy, mushy and bland at the same time. Octopus itself was pretty good. Lobster pasta: enjoyable overall but the lobster tasted rubbery/overcooked. It might be better if they just toss the lobsters in towards the end instead of cooking it so much. The lobster meat portion was very generous. Overall, I was not disappointed, but also I wasn't super impressed.

Fortunately we got in within minutes of waiting. My family wasn't exactly hungry but we ordered the black pasta aglio olio and the black pasta Alfredo. Given the small restaurant / just a few tables, the kitchen was highly efficient and brought the food out quick. It was fun to watch our dinner cooked as we were seated next to the kitchen. The aglio olio is something I could eat regularly. The ground calamari was unique and it was loaded with sautéed garlic. The best! I probably wouldn't order the Alfredo again personally but the kids liked it. Overall a great experience on a hot day. We were in and out fairly quick. Service was solid.

We walked into a simple counter-service space with limited indoor seating, the kind of place that feels more like a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down lunch spot. Even with its small footprint, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for one of the signature sandwiches, and the energy of the room stayed practical and focused on getting orders out efficiently. The lobster roll is the clear standout. We ordered one and found it generously filled with lobster meat, making it feel substantial compared to many other lobster rolls around the city. Whether you choose it hot with butter or cold with mayo, the focus stays on the lobster itself rather than overwhelming it with extra ingredients. The toasted roll added just enough texture without taking away from the filling. Although the lobster roll gets most of the attention, the rest of the menu offers plenty of options if seafood is not what you are looking for. There are oversized sandwiches, soups like clam chowder, and classic sides that make it easy to find something for different tastes. The portions are generous overall, making the prices feel reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. The service was quick and efficient, which fits the fast-paced counter-service concept. The staff moved through orders with speed, and the food came out without much delay. The biggest thing to keep in mind is the limited seating, especially during lunch hours or peak tourist seasons in the North End. If the dining area is full, taking your food to go or finding a nearby outdoor spot can be a better option. Overall, Pauli's is a great stop if you are looking for a satisfying lobster roll without an overly formal seafood restaurant experience. The generous portions, straightforward menu, and convenient location make it an easy place to visit while exploring the North End, especially if lobster rolls are at the top of your list.

The sauce was pretty complex flavor wise and was a delight to have. The meatballs were also delicious and we loved how everything went so well together. After we finished our appetizer, we were brought bread which we used to sop up the rest of the sauce. It was delicious. For our entrees, we got the swordfish and the aglio olio with scallops. Wow. For over $100, you would expect the lobster fra diavolo to be fresh, but it was a huge let down. Severely overcooked and tough, but worst of all, not fresh! It stank of sulfur and tasted bitter which raises concerns about food safety. The other components of the dish were equally underwhelming--overcooked shrimp, tiny mussels and clams, and way-too-thin sauce. The calamari was the best part of the dish. The side of bread didn't taste fresh baked, and the Caesar salad was basic. I am giving stars based solely on location, service, and concept. The plating was beautiful and the vibe was romantic, but sadly the food fell majorly flat.

The vibe was so chill and cozy as soon as we walked in! Even during all the world cup events, our…read moreserver was attentive and super friendly. The steak frites were genuinely the best restaurant food I've ever had, and our server, Rob, really had it down! He's friendly, he's funny, and we got in and out in 45 minutes.

I saw the steak tips listed as on Boston's list of best steak tips spots. I have tried others on…read morethe list and wanted to give Tip Tap room a try. I ordered a draft beer from a large selection of drafts and bottle, cans options. It was Jack Abbey beer... pint came 3/4 full as left a large head on beer and better for establishment pours 12-14 oz in a 16 oz glass.. Beer was warm... bad demerit again Ordered steak tips which came with three large tips on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach . It had some sour hot nasty pepper garnish.. I wanted roasted red or green peppers with the tips instead. Steak tips were just ok and needed a marinate or side of a dipping bbq sauce or mushroom sauce or anything. Spinach, mashed potatoes needed more butter or garlic flavoring... fresh tasting but bland. Needs more steak tips too for the price tag. It was a nice bar vibe for drinks. The chicken wing lollipops I saw for an appetizer looked tasty. I left hungry for more steak tips and wanted a charcoal char on my tips . I wanted my spinach on the side with a garlic oil next to sone grilled oil drizzled roasted peppers . I don't consider these some of Boston best but certainly not the worst .

Cool 'garage doors' that open up in the nice weather. A lot of places in Boston have these.
