Sicilian pizza

Excellent service/friendly owner/and great food! Will for sure be going back! Amazing place and food!

I was at Mama Di Roma last night, for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. The food was good, but the service I received was not. I could tell the waitress was having a very stressful evening, so I didn't want to cause a scene or take it out on her. This is especially true since the restaurant seemed to be very understaffed for a Friday evening. I believe there were three people waiting on the entire restaurant, with customers sitting far apart from each other. It also seemed like at least one, maybe two of the waitresses were new and needed better training. It took 30 minutes for two of our party to be asked what they wanted to drink. It probably took over an hour to place our orders. When the waitress was removing the salads, she spilled dark brown balsamic vinegar salad dressing on my pants and on my expensive boots. I probably spent 15 minutes of my dinner time trying to remove the dressing from my clothes. When I got back to the table, I noticed that there was more dressing still dripping from the table that I hadn't gotten completely cleaned up before going to the back to try to clean myself up. This caused yet another trip to the back to clean myself up. While I was cleaning myself up, I heard a loud argument between the waitress and who I believe may have been the owner. I don't know how the argument started or the full scope of it but hearing that made me feel uncomfortable and feel bad for the waitress. At one point, I heard the male employee yell, "Get the hell out of here and don't come back!" I'm not assigning blame to who was at fault for that as I did not witness the beginning, but it was a very awkward experience. When some of the food arrived, there was a lot of confusion over what the food was, and who ordered what. There was also confusion on whose bill was whose. Two of the bills were incorrectly combined. The waitress knew she did a bad job, last night. She was apologetic and said she hoped we'd come back and that she would do a better job next time. She also got me a rag to clean up with. I do wish the restaurant would have done a little more though. I don't want to see anything bad happen to her, because she was friendly and apologetic. I understand people have off days, and that is the first time I've seen that happen at Mama Di Roma. Surprisingly, I do think I was able to get the dressing removed from my pants and boots, so there was no permanent damage. However, the entirety of the situation warranted at the very least the manager or owner coming to our table to address the situation. Having the meal comped or at the very least a discount, a free drink, a free dessert, etc. would have gone a long way to make the situation right - especially when I spent so much time cleaning up the mess that was made on me. The lack of proper staffing and training was apparent in the body language of the customers at other tables in the restaurant, as well. Mama Di Roma is my favorite Italian restaurant around here and I typically get great food and service. However, last night, after spending close to $100 for my girlfriend's birthday dinner, I was not satisfied with the experience. I was even more dissatisfied that nothing was even attempted to make things right. I called the restaurant to discuss the situation and spoke to the owner. I didn't want to leave a review before doing so. The was friendly and said they were not prepared for the large crowd last night. I brought up the issue of the dressing being spilled on me, and he said he remembered. He asked if the food was alright, and I said it was very good. It would have been nice if something had been offered for the poor experience, but it was not, and I was not going to ask for it. Really, the gesture of trying to make things right is more important to me than the monetary value of it, and there was really nothing done to make things right. I would give this place five stars for the food, three stars for the value, and one star for the service. I will give this place another chance, and if things are better next time, I will update my review to reflect that. My suggestion would be that when there are problems, the manager or owner should personally address the table and make a small gesture to try to make things right. As expensive as things are now, I wouldn't expect to have a $100 meal comped, but 20% off or a free drink/dessert would have been a small gesture to show that they cared, as would have a visit from the manager/owner.

Amazing! So many recommended, so glad we went! Best Italian food hands down! Do not pass through without stopping here. Will be back when we pass through again. Should be on Diner, dives and drivethru's with Guy!

See pic review,, great solid setting of a piece of Italiana ! Its crew is as soulful as the the food. The Mellow Marinated lamb along with fresh veggies stirred up in a nice serving of garlic and when wouldn't i drive 30 miles more more out of the way? Never, not me. Our Spaghetti was hot plated and ready to spin with great flavor as well.

Went back for the pizza. It didn't disappoint!! The crust was so chewy and flavorful. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese. It's like I died and went to New York!

I heard about this place from the guy that cuts my hair. I stopped in and ordered a pizza to go and it didn't disappoint. Service was excellent and pizza was authentic. The menu is vast and I will be trying other dishes in the future for sure.

I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you!

As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.

Here you can observe some of the local elites, tossing their blonde fake tresses and drinking expensive champagne while making sure everyone sees their brand spanking new Louis Vuittons and huge bosoms, and then there is the much more subtle and respectable old money clientele with their exquisite tailoring, indulging in one of the lovely Cabernets served here. And the Cabernet is lovely. The escargot is glorious, it is served with a little toasty roll that you use to dip up that glorious garlic sauce in the serving dish. I had the dover sole, which was straight in from, you guessed it, Dover! ;' ) I had it with fresh broccolini and parmesan risotto. G had sea bass with lobster risotto. Both dishes were cooked beautifully, the fish is flaky and light and the risotto were perfect. Our server Cody, who is absolutely wonderful by the way, tried to tempt us with desserts (one of which was a caramel hot lava cake!) but we were so full from dinner that we had to decline. Next time perhaps. And there will be a next time. PS: this is not the sort of place where you're going to whip out your phone and start photographing everything. Hence the lack of photos.

She was so friendly and very attentive. The ambiance is also very nice! For drinks, I had the Espresso Martini and the Chocolate Old Fashioned. These were both delicious! The breadsticks were also very buttery and tasty. For an appetizer, we had the Bruschetta. It is a different take than normal bruschetta and I am not the biggest fan of it. The one complaint about the bruschetta is that it was extremely salty. This made it less enjoyable. For an entree, I had the Crispy Chicken Rigatoni. This was yummy, but I feel as though the vodka sauce was missing something. The Lobster Ravioli was also delicious and did not miss!

We got the salmon salad, chicken parm, and stuffed peppers. The latter was the only decent thing. The salmon on the salad was dry and burned to a crisp. Had to send it back. The chicken parm was slopped sideways onto my plate with the pasta... that was still dripping/pooling with water. The cheese was definitely not what I expected. It looked and tasted like a single slice of Kraft provolone. The pasta came with a salad that was served on a tiny bread plate, you know, one of those that holds a little roll when used properly. All in all, terrible value. Won't be going back. The photos say it all.

I was quite hesitant about trying this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews,…read morehowever, I was looking for a non-fast food type of sit down homestyle meal. I went at 7 PM on a Friday night and the seated right away. The white staff was very friendly and took my drink order as soon as I sat down. They returned quickly with the bread basket and took my order for the homemade lasagna. The entrée came with a small side salad, which had a very tasty and simple house vinaigrette,, the only thing was that the salad was composed of just lettuce and tomato, no onions, no peppers no carrots no olives no cheese . It didn't take very long for the entrée to come out and even though the lasagna was not very thick as it usually is, it was quite tasty. The prices were quite fair with the entrée salad, bread and butter and soft drink coming to a total of $20 even including tax and tip. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again as the food was very good it was very reasonably priced, and I had no issues with the service, even paying the bill was a breeze with a QR code on the receipt .

They've come a long way, and backslid. We were greeted by a very nice waitress who was also VERY new at the job. No one was shadowing her. I was with a group of four others, and our lone appetizer showed up promptly. Then the wheels fell off the bus. Three out of four of our entrees showed up. No salads. In the meantime, two other employees, one of them I presumed to be the MOD, were busy cleaning up after a large party, and using a sweeper to clean up under the table. Very noisy and disruptive. A broom would have worked just fine. I called over the man I presumed to be the MOD, and pointed out that our table mate had not received her entree, and we still had not gotten salads and bread. That was corrected. Our friend's entree had gummy, overcooked pasta, and a gummy Alfredo sauce. Clearly sat under a heat lamp for a while, and probably took a spin in the microwave. Anything with a red sauce was okay. The appetizer was delicious. Anything without a red sauce was not okay. It was pretty sad. In the past, I have enjoyed delicious meals at Minard's. Our post-Christmas family meals used to be epic. This was anything but. Why am I being so picky? I spent 15 years working front of the house, kitchen, and bar. Something is VERY wrong when the basics are completely ignored, and the customer suffers for it. Something is rotten at Minard's, and I feel that this place may go out of business before any of this is corrected.
