Toilet is literally 2 inches from wall. If you are older than 9, or right handed, or have hips, or shoulders, it's pretty much unusable

My expectations are not high, but in a hotel I'd like a reasonably comfortable bed, a usable bathroom, the ability to control the temperature, and of course cleanliness. The toilet in our room was unusable by all but our 9 year old since it is installed literally 2 inches from the side wall. An adult would have to sit sideways, which for a man at least, doesn't work out so well! I uploaded a picture, so see for yourself. And that is a very small toilet mind you. Try putting a chair 2 inches from the wall on it's right side, sit down, and try to figure out how you'd manage. Knees pressed together, leaning over to your left with your right shoulder pressed into wall. How to manage hygiene if your right handed? Can't. I immediately requested another room when we saw it and the desk clerk said all the rooms were like that. We had to use the bathroom at the coffee shop down the street. Not what we paid for. As far as the temperature goes, we had the two queen beds for a family of four. The AC unit is installed on the floor next to one of the beds. In the summer, the AC needs to be left on all night, and the air blasts directly on the person lying in the bed next to it. Guess who got the honors? That's right, dad, the guy who booked the room. My right side was frozen all night. I would not recommend anyone stay there.

A nice quiet motel at a high altitude of 7000ft overlooking Mono Lake, cheap, they accept AAA, walking distance from all of Lee Vinning. Clean, hot water, working room heaters. Good launching point for Mono Lake and Bodie (Yosemite when it's not snowed in). WIFI. Must stay again =)

A-ok!!- Very clean and the ONLY dog-friendly place in town! It's an old motel and could really use some updating, but it's very clean and Cj (the new owner I think?) is very nice and helpful! The room was very large, and there was a flat-screen TV, no funky dog smells or hair anywhere! As it is I would not want to stay more that a couple nights, just because it REALLY needs some updating, and for the price ($118 w/ dog) I would expect a little more (like maybe a king size bed, which they don't have). Also, there was a little fridge and coffee maker, but no microwave. Being an old building the sound is not so great; creaky floors and thin walls, but we were placed in a room upstairs and in the back away from the road so it was not so bad for us. I guess that means you should ask for upstairs and away from the road? Oh also, I thought it was kinda weird that many of the reviews kept mentioning the outstanding water pressure, but it's true! No aerators on the faucets, and be careful when turning them on because that water SHOOTS out!

This is the speeds. Basic stuff but will get you by.

Well priced, especially for rooms with a kitchen. Shower had mold and mildew but the rest of the room was clean.

For the…read moreLake View Lodge, I'd say that it's better than a 3-star hotel but perhaps not quite 4 stars. It's definitely a solid 3.5 stars in my book. We stayed here for two nights during this past Labor Day weekend. It was an impromptu trip for us, and our choices of lodging were limited. I settled on this one because of its proximity to the places that we intended to visit, namely Mono Lake and Bodie. First impressions were good; this was not a roadside motel but was set back from the street. The grounds out front are nicely landscaped with mature trees providing plenty of shade. There are several places to sit and gaze in the direction of the lake, which is somewhat visible from the hotel but still quite a ways off in the distance. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms. There are options for cabins and even RVs parked behind the lodge. By the time we booked, there were only hotel rooms and an RV available, but we probably wouldn't have opted for the cabins after reading that some of them do not have air conditioning and that wi-fi isn't available (a necessity for my kid's homework during our trip). Our hotel room was surprisingly spacious. There was a comfortable overstuffed chair to sit in, which was nice, but other than the desk chair there was no other place to sit. There's enough room to put in a few more chairs or even a dinette table, which would have been appreciated. The room was clean, and though it seemed a little dated in decor it didn't have a musty old atmosphere either. The bathroom amenities are very basic - just small bars of soap and a few bottles of conditioning shampoo. The towels were clean and fresh and reasonably soft. There were two sinks, one in the common area and one by in the bathroom separated from the shower and toilet by a door - a nice set up that allowed us to get cleaned up simultaneously. The shower water pressure was good but on occasion I got a brief cold blast of water before quickly warming up again. The beds were firmer than I prefer and I detected a slight sag on my side of the bed. Each queen bed only came with three thin pillows, which was pretty much the only real complaint I had with the room. The bedding was also basic, with one of those typical knit polyester blankets over the top sheet, but for the late summer weather it was adequate. The air conditioning (a wall unit at the front of the room) worked better than expected, and held up well during the warmer-than-usual temperatures during our stay. Only half the curtain was 100% light-blocking, but the other half was dark enough that the early morning sun - the rooms all face east - did not wake us up. There's a mini-fridge and a microwave for convenience, both of which worked well. The TV was quite small for the room size, but this wasn't really an issue for us. The front desk person was friendly and check-in was simple. There was no housekeeping service during our short stay, which was fine by us since we don't need fresh towels or sheets each day anyways. All together, this was a fine experience for us. Admittedly, I balked at the price (with taxes and fees, it came to about $225/night), but I think that's to be expected during a holiday weekend. If we ever find ourselves in this area again, we'd certainly consider making a return visit.

The sign at the front desk says that if you stay three or more nights, you get room service. As I mentioned, we stayed three nights. When we went to the front desk to request clean towels and garbage service, she looked up our room number and informed us that we have to stay four nights in order to receive those services. It seems like she was intentionally choosing not to help us. We ended up taking out our own garbage, buying toilet paper at the store next-door and carrying our own linens back up to the room so that we had fresh supplies. On the morning of checkout, we left our room at 7 o'clock to go next-door for breakfast. When we returned at 8:15, our keys had been disabled and we were unable to enter into our room. Checkout time is 10 o'clock so I'm unsure why they chose to disable our keys so early in the morning. Again, we went downstairs and had to deal with the old lady up front. She did not seem interested in helping, but grudgingly gave us keys so that we could get back into our room until checkout time. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property is being micromanaged by someone like the person at the front desk. Such potential being wasted on horrible employees. We will not be back.

The staff was very friendly and willing to talk about restaurants and the best way to get to Yosemite and other questions that we had. The whole property was well kept and felt very safe easy driving directions to get to our hotel room. We were blessed with a hotel first floor had a great patio out, looking into a wooded area. Parking was very easy we park just a few spots away from our hotel room. They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite
