Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.

The prices are a little higher here than at HD/Lowes for equivalent things (the brackets I bought here were just under $5 vs $2 and change at the other places), but it's convenient and I like that it feels more personable. For the odd project and hardware need, I don't mind paying a bit more for convenience. But if I needed more than 3 sets of brackets, I would've taken the time to head across town to save the extra cash. Sadly their popcorn machine wasn't in use while I was there, though.

Great seasonal section, flooring/tile, knobs and handles, and plenty of house cleaning needs here. One downer is i haven't had the best luck in the paint department. I came in asking questions about a kit to redo my cabinets and about paints for cabinets, Etc, and the young man at the paint counter had no idea and couldn't help really at all. I do find than it's a 50/50 chance you'll get an employee that just isn't friendly and isn't very helpful or just plain doesn't know. The other half of the time you get someone who is clearly great at helping and finding answers for you even if they don't know the answer themselves. Overall I like this store for specific needs and will be stopping in again before too long. I love a good DIY!

Got our fireplace upgraded last November just in time for the holidays and we have had a winter and early spring filled with nice ambiance in our den. The whole installation process only took about 4 hours from installing the gas line, putting in the gas logs, sweeping our chimney and painting the interior box. They came out a few weeks later and got our nice new glass doors installed replacing our dated old 80s brass ones. So efficient and couldn't be more satisfied!
