Classic Midland eatery! Feels like you are in a big city pub. They have cool decor & a nice atmosphere. The restrooms may be a bit small, & parking can be scarce on their busier days. It can be especially crazy when there is a line in front, but more people are coming in from the back door (or on the way back & forth from the restroom). It starts getting congested around the register pretty fast! Food-wise, I really like their cream of broccoli soup (vegetarian-friendly!), & occasionally the veggie pita. They have a great selection of crackers right across from the drink station (Saltines, Captains Wafers, even wheat-bread-based Captains Wafers). I was recently in Midland for business and on a whim I decided to give this place a try as I wanted a good sandwich but I wanted to support local and not a national chain. I'm glad that I stopped in. Finding the restaurant was not difficult. However, parking is tight at this spot. Once inside, the staff were very friendly. Everyone was practicing Covid 19 precautions. The restaurant was clean. It was almost like stepping into a time machine as the decor definitely harkens back a few decades. That said, I really enjoyed what I ordered. It was prepared fresh and delivered quickly. I ordered the blt with potato salad as my side item. It was delicious. The dining room was large enough that the patrons could spread out and have space. I would dine here again on future visits to the Midland area. Oh, and at the time of this review, there is a Nothing Bundt Cakes location right next door that I would recommend for dessert. read more

It's pretty decent, considering the limted choices for sandwhiches in Midland, and the salads are great! At lunch you order at the counter but at dinner they'll come to your table, as serve good sized beers at dinner. Great menu item: the nacho waffle fry appetizer, HUGE and delicious! Fully loaded nacho dish but with waffle fries instead of chips! Not so great: Order a turkey sandwhich and you'll get it on 2 slices of store bought white bread that's a tiny bit stale. I was disappointed to see it wasn't made fresh or at least sliced to appear homemade.They also don't really have any soups, probably because it's 100 degrees in Midland most of the time! read more

I had the turkey mornay and it was a PERFECT lunch dish. Super tasty and came out quickly. They only have raspberry or unsweetened tea though and I think any West Texas restaurant should have sweet tea, but that's just my personal preference. Yeah.....not so much. Granted, I just had the blackened chicken Caesar salad and not a sandwich, but still. It does have a kitschy feel about it which helps, but I'm still underwhelmed. The chicken was cut up into cubes, so you aren't sure if you're getting a whole breast or not. The dressing seemed very mundane, like straight out of a bottle. Excellent service every time I've visited. Murray's has a wonderful atmosphere and not overly crowded or overly loud seating area(s). Lunch is order at the counter and pay upfront; they call your name cafeteria style to pickup. They have a condiment bar to dress your sandwich with a selection beyond the usual M/M/K. Dinner is waited upon after you choose a place to seat yourself, and the waitstaff has been courteous every time. This delicatessen has a wide variety of old world style sandwiches and soups to quench the appetite, as well as a variety of Ale, Lager and Beer for the beer snob in you (or your group). By far I have not had a better Ruben in the Midessa metroplex, served along a Draught Shiner this sandwich makes a great meal anytime. If you drop in to Midland take the loop to Wadley and look for the restaurant just beyond the southeast corner of Wadley and Midkiff. There is extra parking in the back. A back entrance keeps you from walking around the building to get in. Don't be deterred if it looks busy, this place is well worth it. read more

The food was okay to a point, the sandwich's we ordered didn't much meat, but I could of over looked it if every 2 minutes I wasn't having a loud *** lady yelling people names out, they need to do something different. It was not loud in the place they just don't want to bring people food. I would recommend this place for curbside pick up but don't go in side unless you want someone yelling in your ear. read more

I've been coming here every week and I gotta say it's my fav place to eat so far, and tbh the food comes out fast and if your trying to save money this place kinda does it for, but that's in ny opinion, if you really want to kno more then just check it out, you might or might not like it but to me it's worth coming and if anyone actually reads this then u should try the super burger, it's a pretty good burger with all the right stuff Haha read more

WAy way way way overpriced came here as we came before it was horrible first off $50 for3 burgers drink and dessert woooooow now melts were so flavorless nasty not to what it once was the fries was best part the drinks were-not working water down got nasty water down soda And we decided to return desserts as $18 for three pies is stupid it's not in even the cheesecake factory its Sam's Club and to top it off customer service was far by bad never coming again ever ever do not come here fudruckers way better and cheaper read more

Murray's atmosphere is really the only thing that keeps us coming back (on the rare occasion). The food is not excellent, but it's not terrible either. Recently I had one of their Super Spinach salads and it was paired with Italian dressing, I have to say it was one of the worst combinations I've ever had. The salad has bleu cheese, red onions, red peppers can hard boiled eggs, bacon bits and baby spinach...a sweet dressing such as a raspberry vinaigrette would have complimented it SO much better! Their curly fries are decent, as are their Ruben sandwiches. Murray's is probably the better of the locally owned delis in the area. read more

If you need a good lunch fast, Murray's is a great option. They whip up salads, sandwiches, and burgers at lightning speed. The dining area is large, and the menu has enough variety to please a big group, so this seems like a great place for lunch with co-workers. I recommend the Chicken Plate ($7), which consists of chicken salad atop a half avocado, served with some cheese, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of a side. Oh Murray's how I miss you!! I know my order by heart still--turkado, toasted, on wheat, no sprouts, curly fries. MMMM. Having moved away after high school, this is my first stop when I get the chance to come visit. The turkado is basically just a turkey club w/ bacon, avacado...and possibly crack.. I have heard rumors about a fabulous crabmelt, a great french dip, and a super burger, but I just can't betray my turkado! The curly fries (which they don't skimp on) are amazingly perfect and the soup is the make you melt in your chair kind. This, in my opinion, is the best sandwich place in town. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Midland. I confess to eating there as often as once a week! Although the food may be prepared slightly different from time to time (like the blackened chicken or tuna)I have rarely had anything there that wasn't delicious. I have enjoyed almost everything on the menu. Sometimes the curly fries (which I believe are made from an entire potato) are a bit too greasy or soggy, but the waffle fries served in the evening are always hot and crispy (try the fry nachos). My favorite sandwich is the chikado. I have seriously had this sandwich over a dozen times and only once was the chicken a little dry. The salads are always fresh and filling. The fruit has never had those squishy, souring grapes. The cheesecake is smooth and fluffy. Oh, sometimes the sodas taste funny, but just because Midland water is gross. I still usually get a diet coke or the raspberry tea. I really enjoy the decor and atmosphere of Murray's. It is always buzzing with people, conversation, and order calling. There are all kinds of beer bottles, random signs, and pictures on the wall. Although it could use a good dusting, it is still fun and my mind is always distracted and entertained by all the goings-ons. The staff is generally friendly, playful, and hardworking. Service is fast, even when they are real busy. You can also place a call in order. During lunch you wait in a line, order at the register, find a table, and then wait for your name to be called. You pick up your food at the front counter. At night you are seated and waited on. Try the fried zucchini sticks with ranch as an appetizer. The prices are extremely reasonable and I always feel I get equal too or more than I paid for. When I have family or friends visit, I like to take them here. Came in for lunch today and really enjoyed it. A bunch of locals had suggested we go and try it, it's a local version of McAllisters. I had the Chick-ado sandwich with potato salad and my friend had a turkey and cheese sandwich with curly fries. They were both good, but nothing to write home about. We will for sure be back, I do want to try dinner here. They were really busy when we arrived (it was 12:15pm) but we still got our food really fast! read more

They do get very busy around peak times but are worth it! Very tasty, great deli options. We do a lot of office lunches here.
