I'm so glad I found Muscle Lab. I know it's an amazing place for athletes, but it's also incredible for people like me whose bodies have gotten out of whack from injuries and not moving enough. After foot surgery and hip surgery, I felt tight, stiff, and honestly intimidated to get my body moving again. This has completely changed that. The myofascial release is amazing--you can literally feel your muscles letting go of years of tension and moving back into proper alignment. The cupping and tissue scraping were incredible too. I walked out feeling looser, more mobile, and like my circulation and posture had already improved. The biggest difference, though, was Johanna. She took the time to understand what my body needed instead of giving me the same treatment everyone else gets. Just by looking at my stance, she was able to explain why I was having certain pain. They're not doctors and don't pretend to be, but their knowledge of body movement is impressive. I've watched them work with other clients, and every session is tailored to the individual, which says a lot about the level of care here. After my second visit, I signed up for the membership because it's reasonably priced, flexible, and doesn't lock you into a long commitment. First time I had Andrew a 23 yr old with strong hands. He was amazing but then from what I saw they all are. This business has an amazing concept of new age body work combines with compression sleeves. The second visit I had Johanna who was Andrew's supervisor. She's a 24 yr old dancer and body work specialist who really put the hurt on me (oh in a good way) she busted up a lot of old scar tissue freeing up movement and opened up my breathing. I have notoriously tight neck and shoulders and I have tried so many different treatments and massages to try to alleviate the pain, stiffness, and tightness. I saw an ad on Facebook for 50% of myofascial release and decided to try it out. This was my first experience with myofascial release and did some research ahead of time but I just went in with an open mind. There appears to be a small parking lot on the side of the building that Muscle Lab is in but I wasn't sure so I parked on the street. My appointment was at 10am so there were plenty of spots available. I was greeted right away when I entered and the therapist who was working with me, I think her name was Emma, got me a robe to change into as I was wearing leggings. (make sure you wear shorts if you're getting a full body treatment as they'll work on your quads) Emma was very knowledgeable, sweet, and had a bubbly personality. You could tell she really loved her job and her coworkers. She did myofascial release, which from what I experienced, is applying pressure to areas that are tight and need a release. She also used a heated scraper and did cupping on my shoulders and quads. Compression boots were also part of the service but I was short on time as I went during a work day so I skipped that. If you haven't tried compression boots before, you've got to try it. It feels like a firm hug on your legs and feels great! The pressure applied to my shoulders and the scraping felt good. I am so tight in these areas, any pressure feels nice. The work done on my quads was really painful, I won't lie, but it also felt weirdly good. I think it's because I rarely pay any attention to this area. I felt really good for days after my treatment. Regular massages only bring me relief for a few hours so this was a pleasant surprise. My appointment was about and hour and a half without the compression. I signed up for another myofascial release as well as stretch therapy ( this was also half off) and I can't wait to go back. The scraping is so amazing, yes it does hurt but it has the pain that releases my body from tightening. After my session I thought I will be so sore but I was not, it released my muscles from tension and reduced body pain. It was amazing and I recommend it to my athletic friends! I think the only downside for me is that the studio is open, meaning there will be no rooms or dividers between you and other people, if you value privacy you might need to check the place first. They do give you blanket if you need it to cover yourself. The therapist can come and go because they also answer to other customers like they will answer phone calls or anyone that walks in. I have tried different places before but I am very particular because I NEED hard deep massages, I can't stand when it just feels like they slather cream all over you. I saw an ad for 50% off and decided to book. I had Andrea as my therapist and WOW, just wow as she definitely understood the assignment. I think she even almost made me cry with how deep and strong she was but my body definitely needed it! I truly enjoyed my session, however, it is really expensive compared to other places I've gone to. As much as I loved my massage, it's way too much and out of my budget. The massage seemed pretty good, but how can one really tell when the masseuse also has to answer the phone and greet new guests as they walk in - because there are no massage rooms and you're just tits up on the table for all the folks walking past the street facing window for passerby's to see. Never mind the bro-tastic locker room ambiance coming from the lobby as compression boots whir and the game plays loudly. I mean, I could get past the Home Depot chic of this place if there were some effort on upkeep, but the floors are crazy dirty and if I have to ask if your non sheeted table has been cleaned I'd recommend grabbing a Lysol wipe so I can see that dirty table be cleaned. The idea is great, but the execution was really awful. Zero privacy, these masseuses are clearly being rushed and asked to do work they shouldn't be (and seriously, you have people on IVs sitting next to the door?!?!) and it was all just like some high school friend's dad opened a massage parlor in their garage and it was some how normalized because everyone else had such poor hygiene. read more

I LOVE this place. The staff is truly so knowledgeable on everything. I've gone when I've been feeling like I'm coming down with something and instantly their selection of IVs have helped.
