Not sure why this place has anything less than a 5-star rating. This store is one we all frequent to for our orchestral booklets, supplies, and services. I personally like that they are open later than most local violin shops and have what we need. My son needed his violin to be serviced and since the other local violin shop that I initially bought it from closed early for some reason, we figured we had nothing to loose and stop by here. We were greeted by an employee and informed him that the violin needed to be restrung, and after a couple of minutes after playing on their beautiful piano, admiring the cool guitars and shaking the colorful maracas, we were informed that the violin was fixed, however it was only temporary since they were not able to provide the full service that we needed and suggested another local violin shop for that service. The best part, we were not charged! Like who does that nowadays!?? Mind you, they don't service instruments. I appreciated the associate's service very much, he did not have to be so kind and desperately help us out when my son needed his violin fixed by the next day. I have nothing but great things to say about Music and Arts, they truly have great quality employees and a wide variation of instruments and knowledgeable employees. I came in to get new strings for my guitars as I had left them collecting dust for a couple of years. I was quickly greeted and assisted by Joseph who did a fantastic job of walking me through the different options and asking questions to provide the best advice. After I confessed to not knowing how to change the strings myself he spent almost an hour explaining all sorts of maintenance tips while he restrung and cleaned both of my guitars. With our favorite music store closed after 15 years, we had to find a new shop...we think we found a good one here. We were immediately greeted by Joe F. who was surprisingly very professional and nice, but above all, he didn't have the same cocky attitude that most music store employees unfortunately have. We told him what happened to our favorite store and that we were tired of the typical employees at Guitar Center, thus we found them after a quick search and decided to give them a shot. Joe asked us a few questions and then we began to browse. Great prices with what they had in their storefront and Joe said they can get anything we were looking for and didn't see there and then he handed me a cable to try out the amps I was looking at and asked me to make myself comfortable and try any of the guitars on the wall - now, how refreshing is that? A music store employees offering great service, that was nice. They offer private music lessons along with having a selection of violas, violins, and wind instruments without the pretentious attitudes, unlike other shops (I'm looking at you, Guitar Center) so if you're into music and haven't checked out this little shop, do yourself a huge solid and swing by to check it out for yourself. If I could give a 0, I would. Multiple issues. The girl at this location twice in the middle of a transaction just dropped me basically. I don't know if she's the manager's daughter or what. She couldn't even finish a basic sales transaction and don't even get me started on instrument repair. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I have had mixed experience at this place. Obviously "older" persons have way more knowledge than the younger team. I went there with a clarinet that I received from a family member to give it a second life for my son. A young man behind the counter said not worth spending money on it. But an older man said, no it would be totally worth spending money on restoring the clarinet as they don't produce them the way one was made. Those younger generation are great to help you with anything new on the market but don't have the knowledge of history of older instruments. So now I usually get 2 options before making a decision. Overall I like the place, they usually service the instruments well and are fairly priced. I just get advise from someone with more years of experience and that actually knows instrument, their history, origin and value. read more

We have been coming to this Music & Arts location for the past year and a half. My 5y.o. (at the time) daughter started taking electric guitar lessons with Mr. Mike, who is a great teacher. He is VERY patient with my daughter who tends to have a short attention span. Mr. Mike would get music notes from rock music that she loved to help keep her interests. Due to other extra curricular activity we had to change to a day that Mr. Mike was not available so she started classes with Mr. Todd. He is also a great teacher and extremely patient with her. She started with her electric guitar but he has helped her branch out into other musical instruments such as the piano, drums, violin and ukulele. She LOVES going to her music class every week and it makes me so happy that her love of music has only increased since starting her classes at M&A. We have gotten to know the management at the store. Chad and Joseph are always so nice and very helpful with products. My school recently did a field trip to the store and had a wonderful time. They had their own private concert (performed by a few of the music teachers) and got to leave with their own little musical instrument. I cannot say enough nice things about the store. read more

I rushed here because the person that answered the phone he said to come anyways because they usually are here till 6:15 well I got here at 6:14 and they didn't bother to wait. It upsets me because I rushed here due to the fact that my son needs his instrument for school. They are not very considerate if they couldn't wait a few more minuets till I got here. I was only picking up an instrument and all I had to do is sign a paper and that was it. Quite possibly the worst business I have dealt with. After requesting a cancelation on a rental instrument which had not been shipped I waited the 30-45 day refund period to recieve my money back but did not recieve this. I then contacted customer service again and was told they did not have notes in their system for my cancelation, they then informed me the rental had already been shipped to the school. After another week of waiting I contacted them again only to be told they have picked up the instrument but would not give me a refund me as there is no proof I had called to cancel the rental. Thankfully Chase refunded my money through a dispute. At no time did the company attempt to contact me, but instead made sure to retrieve their belongings and steal my money. If you choose to rent from this company be sure to have evidence of every call and transaction. read more

My review is only based on instrument repair. I'm sure the lessons are fine but this is just for the instrument repair/maintenance. We just moved to the state and had to get my daughters sax repaired for high school band. Dropped it off no problem and rented a loaner so she could start band. The guy that night was friendly but not too much info just that the sax would go out that day. About a week later we get a call that the repair would be more than double the initial quote. When asked what was being done to it I was just told "level 2 repair". I asked specifically if pads were being replaced or cork repaired and it was always the same answer. After about the second time the guy on the phone was getting very short, rude, and annoyed and stated "I can just have them send it back with nothing done". I just want to know what I'm paying for for "level 2". My daughter has to have the sax so I approved the repair. Sure enough, about a week and a half later the instrument is back and the cost is more. Still no explanation as to what was ever done to the sax and each time I asked the employees became extremely combative and defensive. It plays fine but I have no idea what was done to it and the overall experience by the staff was unpleasant. I feel I was overcharged and work was hidden. Go local next time. read more

As a frequent customer, I have been impressed by the excellence of the of customer service at this location. I am a private instructor, and I prefer to purchase all lesson material from Music & Arts. The employees are always helpful and willing to help me find what I need. If I need an item that is not in stock, it is ordered and usually available for pickup within a couple days. In addition, floors are always vacuumed, and merchandise is always neatly organized. Overall, this location provides a shopping experience superior to its peers. read more

I wanted to just stop by to browse for a new Guitar before work and my short time there was awful. The man behind the counter slumped in his chair had a sour attitude and never looked up from his phone, the selection of guitars was very small as well as their amps, drums, and pedals.. The only positive I can say is that the store was clean. You're better off going to the music store on 1960 near the party city. All the employees are friendly and usually know all of their stuff and don't make you feel like they're out to just earn their commission. read more

We always have wonderful experiences at Music and Arts. Last week my son, who is a new 6th grade saxophone student, was in tears because he could hardly make a good sound. I took him up there before they closed and Mirian greeted him very warmly and took us to a practice room to figure out the problem. She was very patient with him and encouraging him a ton, gave him really good pointers, and we swapped out a mouth piece. After a good hour there he felt on top of the world and confident for his test the next day. She even followed up with a phone call to see how he did the rest of the week. Over the summer, Joseph spent time explaining music software and has even offered to personally help my older son get started. Lastly, Chad the manager last night took a good amount of time trying to figure out a problem with my son's saxophone never giving up. I never feel rushed and we are treated like we are the most important customer. I am always blown away by how relational this store is and that they really want all students to succeed. This store is my favorite and will be our #1 for the many years ahead of us in band! read more

My husband and I went to this store today and found the customer service exceptionally poor. The salesperson was extremely slow and took his sweet time picking out items for a ladies order in front of us. After he checked her out, he proceeded to make another order over the phone for her while the queue was building. Common sense would be to clear the queue before proceeding with a time consuming phone order. I asked if the salesperson could check us out quickly since we only had 2 items. The answer was "I'm helping someone else." I guess multi-tasking was beyond him. Perhaps sales 101 would help these people. We left after waiting in line for 20 minutes. Will never return. read more
