I can't help but to keep coming back! This is some of the creamiest I've cream. I keep selecting the vanilla because it's so good by itself! It's a rich vanilla flavor and even when I get it with the chocolate or strawberry swirl, the vanilla is the dominant flavor. I like going in the evenings when there's less of a line.
Omg the hype is real. We got pineapple with strawberry. My husband loved the strawberry and for me I loved the pineapple it was like dole whip. I thought the drive through experience was great with a baby and dog since it was so Hot. They take card and before you get through drive though your order is ready. Wish I was closer and have this more often but the place is a hit esp in pleasanton heat. Also very affordable
There was a long line when we arrived around 5:45 pm on a warm Sunday. The line moved quickly- my friends got an orange slushy and a vanilla and orange diablo. I got a small strawberry cone - I wasn't particularly hungry- but was excited that there were vegan ice cream options! The ice cream flavors are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple and orange- and the three fruit flavors are vegan. I wish I had known that you can order two flavors together for a cone- my strawberry cone was delicious and I'll have to order a strawberry and pineapple swirl next time! There's nowhere to sit- it's a drive through or walk through operation. So we took our treats to eat across the street at a nearby park.
Best local ice cream shop in town! If you are ever in the area and ask someone about Meadowlark they will know exactly what you are talking about. It's the best cheap ice cream place in the East Bay hands down. I love getting their rotating special flavors like mango, ube, cotton candy, etc. Their staple flavors are vanilla, chocolate, orange, pineapple, and strawberry. You are able to mix flavors as well! Their ice cream are all creamy and hits the spot! It's a fun place to go after dinner or a sweet treat anytime during the day. The line does look really long but it moves really fast. They offer walk ups and drive through. They are also a small grocery store too that sells some dairy products like eggs and milk.
Tried Meadowlark for the first time since I was in the area. Drive through was around the corner, it was much quicker to walk up in line. What I love and appreciate is that they don't limit you on the number of flavors you want, even if you get a small! I tried the peaches and cream- didn't really taste much of the peach. Vanilla was probably the best. Pineapple was tart and sour, I 100% recommend getting it with the vanilla and you'll have your dole whip! Chocolate was great as well, cant go wrong. I did try the strawberry but it was very strongly artificial. Don't recommend. I don't think this is a place to go out of your way to try. If you're local, it's a perfect excuse to take a walk and pick up an ice cream. It's cheap, affordable and fun!

I was parallel parking and the girl behind me and the audacity to follow me while I was pulling up to start backing up into a spot. She didn't even bother moving or going around while I was waiting for the spot to open up. There's no dedicated parking spots for this place so it's just street parking so good luck. The line. There's no clear end of where the line actually ends so it ends up being a jumbled mess and since there's a drive through, people don't know how to not block the way for the cars to go through. There's kids riding on bikes up and down the streets and the sidewalks so be cautious of what's around you. The service. Once we figured out where the line was, the teenager walked us over and took our order. She was very rude and had zero customer service. We were a party of 4, and after every single order, she would rush and ask "anything else?!" And I really wanted to reply with "and a better attitude" but I let it go. It wasn't even hot outside for her to have that kind of temper with customers. Like yes, it was busy, but you're doing a job that requires customer service. At the end of the day, it's free to be nice
This place has THE BEST soft serve in the Bay Area. My favorite has to be the strawberry flavor, it's tart and sweet and best yet, lactose free. The workers are fast and will kindly answer any of your questions. I like to order a medium on a cone and take a walk at the park across the street. This is a must try!
While in downtown Pleasanton on a sunny afternoon we stopped by Meadowlark. There was a short line but the staff were attentive and kept it moving. The Diablo was delicious. A slushie with a scoop of vanilla. It was not too sweet and just tart enough. The large ice cream left me stuffed. Very reasonably priced.
Someone who was local told me all about Meadowlark and I had this is my bookmarks for the one to try asap! I went to this location which was more like a drive through. They have soft serves and milkshakes. They also offer seasonal flavors sometimes. Everything I have had here is delicious. The texture is divine and the flavors are on point and not overly sweet. I also like that most of their flavors can we swirled together. Must try if you are in the area!
This is hands down my favorite ice cream spot. I literally make the 25 min drive almost every week because it's that good. The ice cream is super creamy, and they always have fun, unique flavors that make me want to try everything on the menu. So far I've had vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, and Rolo. Rolo is my personal favorite. They seriously need to make that one permanent. One of the best parts is that you can mix any flavors you want, which makes it even more fun to customize. I usually get a small, and it's honestly a generous portion but somehow I still finish it every time.. Another underrated plus: it doesn't melt super fast, so you're not dealing with ice cream dripping everywhere. I'm guessing it has a higher milk content because it stays creamy without getting runny. No sticky hands by the end, which is a huge win for me. Also, service here is impressively fast and efficient. What looked like the longest drive-thru line ever moved surprisingly quickly. I had my ice cream in hand in about 15-20 minutes, which honestly exceeded my expectations. Overall, a spot I keep coming back to again and again and definitely worth the drive!
Meadowlark Dairy is a local favorite ice cream shop in Pleasanton and also has a drive thru. It's located in the charming downtown area, which is pretty nice to walk around. I've been two times and it was tasty both times! Expect long lines, but the workers help move the lines quickly! I got the Strawberry Vanilla ice cream and it made for a delicious dessert after dinner. If you're in Pleasanton, definitely give them a try!
Ok, everyone knows the soft serve is top tier in the Bay Area in addition to location and customer service!! Ok but does everyone know the Diablo is top tier too! I finally tried a new item and wow reminds me of the nostalgic slushies with ice cream in Hawaii!!! It only took me over 50 years to try one here! It was a hot humid day and I asked the young cashier for her recommendation on a flavor to quench my thirst! Well the strawberry lemonade with vanilla soft serve hit the spot!! It was so bomb I let my family try it and they can't wait for their next visit to get one!! Holy cow this place just get better and more addicting!!!! Since it was a busy Sunday and we had tons of family with us we came here for the after party and had a blast standing in line! Service is much faster walking up and such a great experience!!

This spot is definitely one of those places that proves you don't need fancy toppings or crazy flavors to have people lining up around the block. BUT the line moved so fast (10 minutes tops). This isn't your average soft serve. It's creamy, super smooth, and rich without feeling heavy or "too much." The cone stayed crunchy until the very last bite. Rating: 10/10 read more
No long review needed because the line of cars and people wrapping around the block already speaks for itself. They even have a "No Parking" sign with a soft serve emoji to mark where the line starts--you know it's worth the hype. The staff was friendly, the line moved quickly, and the wait wasn't bad at all.For my first visit, I kept it classic with the vanilla and chocolate swirl in a cone, while the person who brought me here ordered enough to last them two days. No toppings are needed. The soft serve speaks for itself, smooth, creamy, made with quality ingredients. Portion was also huge for the price. Soft serve is pretty good and can't beat the price. They have drive up, which is convenient. The line moves fast. We didn't know and we parked the car but next time we will do drive up. Get the small size with all the flavors. That's enough to share with 2 people. Vanilla is the best. read more

The best experience ever!!! Go for the long line that is serviced by numerous employees with tablets taking your order. What seems like thirty minutes is done in 5! Go for the luscious soft cream in chocolate, vanilla and the seasonal flavors! Go for the pup cups or cones that are offered free of charge for the plus ones in your life! It was pouring rain, yet there was a line of cars waiting to get into the driveway at Meadowlark so folks could purchase their favorite soft serve cones. We took it a step further and parked around the corner and walked up. Service for us was immediate. A young lady came to ask what we'd like. She got a Medium Cone 1/2 Raspberry and 1/2 Pineapple. Because these two flavors aren't side-by-side in the dispenser, the flavors were stacked in eight layers. I got my favorite, a Medium 1/2 Orange and 1/2 Vanilla, very reminiscent of a 50/50 bar in flavor. Our server was quick, efficient and constantly had a smile on her face. Well done! read more

We'd heard about how lovely and fresh the icecream here was from friends and we'd always wanted to try it, but it's about 30 mins away and so never made the trip down there. Until last Saturday! Service : This is a drive-in dairy and you will likely be met with a long, but fast moving queue. The staff were friendly and took our orders as we waited in our car. They accept cash, card and Apple Pay. We received our order within 2 mins and drove off to a nearby parking lot to enjoy our ice-creams. Food : The ice creams were DELICIOUS! We got the chocolate vanilla swirl and the strawberry chocolate. Both medium sized, but they were huge! I'd get a small next time for a post-meal dessert. The ingredients were clearly high quality and super- fresh! The chocolate and vanilla tasted creamy because of the excellent milk sourced from their dairy. The strawberry was dairy free and beautifully tart. Next time I'll try their vanilla and strawberry as a combination as they'd balance the sweet and tart flavors perfectly! The ice creams are priced at about $3-3.5 which is unbelievable for the quality they offer. Ambience : They have a nice mural outside, I've added a picture. What a cute little soft serve place in Pleasanton! Came to get a sweet treat after a hike in Livermore and I was shocked at how popular it was through the drive thru and walk up. Don't let the long lines fool you though! They're super quick with getting your order and you're in and out. I got the small strawberry and vanilla swirl and my boyfriend got the small chocolate and vanilla swirl. We also got our pup a little pup cup! The small is actually decently sized and not your typical "small". As a girl who loves soft serve, this hit the spot. I loved the tartness from the strawberry with the vanilla. My boyfriend was also a big fan! And can't forget our pup that enjoyed her treat. Definitely a place I recommend you checking out. If I lived here, I'd be here all the time! read more

Mint Soft serve (5/5); This was the March special and it was amazing. It was cool and refreshing with a powerful mint flavor. Not too sweet and not too creamy. I can't believe that I lived in Dublin for several years and never knew about Meadowlark Dairy. The walking line was down the street but the drive thru seemed to be much shorter and moved faster! The staff is busy running ice creams to the drive through customers and the wall is the menu. They sell all sorts of dairy products from the local dairy but most people are here for the soft serve ice cream. They only have a few flavors (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry and have a seasonal flavor) It was only 3.50 for a medium and the medium was quite a lot for me to eat. Just one block from the main strip, I'm Embarrassed that I hadn't been here before. For SHAME!!!! read more
Such a cute spot, I absolutely loved the retro vibes and the fun drive-thru setup! It really feels like a little throwback experience, which made the visit extra enjoyable. I got Diablo with Meadowlark berry slushy and Bubbas banilla ice cream-- loved the flavor of the ice cream, basically french vanilla, but I'd probably skip the slushy next time since it's basically an ICEE. Still, overall a great stop and definitely worth checking out if you're in the Pleasanton area! read more

Walked here some my friends house down the street. There's not parking anywhere! The drive thru line is insane. I would recommend finding parking and walking over to enjoy it over my the old fire station that is now an event center. The kids size is what I got, just one tier. The bigger the size the more tiers and higher your ice cream will be topped. Kid size was perfect for me. The pineapple flavor tastes exactly like dole whip!!! I'm so glad they had vegan flavors. It was Orange, strawberry and pineapple. I wish coffee was vegan. I am so glad my friend brought me here. Great local gem. read more

This is a dangerous place to stop by. The cones are perfectly sweet, but not sickeningly sweet like most other places. I like my sweets and I can eat a lot, but they give a LOT for a large size. Learned my lesson, medium or small for the next time. The worst thing is that a large is only $4.00. They could easily double the price and the line would still be as long. My favorite dessert place in the bay!!! Always my go to evening spot to hang with friends :) Even though the line is always long here, the service is super fast and friendly. There's a local park nearby to enjoy the ice cream & hang out. The prices are cheap for the amount of ice cream that you get. My favorite flavor is the vanilla & orange swirl, but every other flavor that I have tried has been delicious. The texture of the ice cream is so smooth & every time I come back, it surprises me how good the ice cream is here. read more
Must try ice cream spot in the east bay! I have been wanting to try Meadowlark for the longest time, and finally made a trip over to the East bay to check it out. The drive-thru line was a bit long because it was a cold day, so we just decided to order at the walk-up window which moved quickly. I got a large chocolate and vanilla swirl and my friend got a large raspberry (seasonal) and vanilla swirl. Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl (5/5): Neatly swirled and generous portion size! The ice cream was tasty and very creamy - could tell it was good quality. Good flavor combo Friend liked her raspberry and vanilla swirl, she said the raspberry was fruity and refreshing. Amazing bang for buck. Can't believe the large is only $4 considering how much ice cream you get. Simple, no frills soft serve, but executed perfectly. Definitely will be back! read more

It's that time of year! Where the weather gets hot and everyone runs over to Meadowlark dairy for something refreshing! They have a drive through ice cream line which moves super fast and young employees serving you from the comfort of your vehicle. Everyone is super nice every time I've gone. Quick and efficient. Menu is pretty straight forward. The price is SUPER cheap but the quality is probably the best I've had. Tried their slushy for the first time today (Berry slushy) it was so good. I'll be back for an ice cream here in the coming weeks. City staple! read more

This was an experience!!! If you live in the bay, this is worth the trip to experience the liveliness, deliciousness, and the vibes this place brings!! Wow! Upon first impression, it looks like an old dairy stand where you could drive up and get milk and eggs. They revamped it into a drive through ice cream shop. The drive thru does take planning as it's a one way entrance. The drive thru starts on First Street and down Neal and you turn right into the dairy. There are people with IPads taking your order as you turn right onto Neal. As your car comes around through the overhang, you already have your ice cream in your hand. There is also a standing line that was 50+ people long. We got served within 5 minutes. They had a system in there that was ready for the crowds. We went on a nice walk around the park as it was a lovely sunny day and to be honest, I would go here even on a cloudy-overcast day. I've had the pleasure of eating a lot of ice cream in my life. I want to say that this is easily the best ice cream I've had during my 37 years on this planet. I was inhaling my ice cream. It was better than the gelato in Florence, better than Its It, better than salt and straw, better than froyo, etc. THIS IS THE SPOT!! I would definitely bring a tourist here to impress them of our little pockets of gold in the bay. The downtown area of Pleasanton is a vibe in itself. There are always people walking, having coffee, BBQing, selling Girl Scout cookies, and riding bikes. We love this spot. read more

I happen to yelp ice cream in this adorable place came up. It has a highly organized drive-through and a walk up ability . The staff were very friendly. The menu is simple however, if you ask the staff, there's mixing options of the ice cream. The ice cream was delicious. I definitely will come back when I visit Pleasanton the next time. read more

Classic old-school soft serve spot with really good ice cream. I went simple and got the plain chocolate soft serve, and it was excellent. The texture is noticeably thicker and creamier than the typical soft serve you get elsewhere. You can tell it's made differently. Next time I definitely want to try some of the other flavors like orange and strawberry. The drive-through line was crazy long, and the walk-up line was long too, but they moved people through surprisingly fast. Definitely worth the wait. read more

Hands down the best soft serve in town! This place is always our favorite go-to when we're craving ice cream. The staff is super friendly and keeps things moving even when it gets pretty packed (which it often does for good reason!). I love that you have options -- you can swing through the drive-thru if you're in a hurry or stand in line and soak up the fun atmosphere. The flavor of the week is always something to look forward to, and we've never been disappointed. Great location, great service, and consistently delicious ice cream. Not nut based. But they do contain soy.

You can always ask your server but everything is gluten free except for the cone. Only once have we had a flavor with gluten but we were not allowed to stack it with any other flavor. Or just let your server know you have celiac and you cant have…
Does your soft serveice cream contain gelatin or any other animal by products? Is it vegetarian friendly?
They for sure have some vegan flavors, mostly the fruity ones like strawberry, orange, pineapple, etc. Flavors rotate based on availability but they always have at least a couple vegan ones. The vanilla and chocolate are dairy/milk based though.
We have a severe peanut allergy in the family. Is the soft serve peanut-free? Do any flavors with peanuts share soft serve lines? Thank you!
We do not have any flavors that have nuts. So they are nut free! Just make sure you tell your server you have a severe allergy and they can assure you as well.
How much are the ice cream cones?
$3 for small cone. I believe it is $4 for medium and $5 for large(may be incorrect)
Do you have anything that is non-dairy?
Most of our flavors are non dairy. Our constant non dairy flavors are orange, strawberry and pineapple.
Does the root beer slushee have caffeine?
I don't think they have that on their menu. Though they keep adding new stuff on their menu so it's worth checking out with them.
Do you have a nutrition fact or sugar free ice cream?
No sugar free ice cream, but we will see if we can get nutritional info on our website this week.…
When will you have a new flavor? Is it scheduled weekly or monthly?
Not for a couple weeks. We have pumpkin for a couple more weeks.
Do you make all the packed ice cream, like tin roof, in house? Or are the sourced elsewhere?
All of our packed ice creams are made by crystal creamery in modesto.
