Honestly your pretty standard donut shop, but the sausage rolls are so so good when fresh out of the oven. They also have multiple kinds of donut holes that I'm intrigued by! The staff was super friendly and also, they have started taking credit cards so you don't have to stress over not having cash anymore.

A coworker brought Mustang Donuts in for us this morning. I had a chocolate glazed donut, which is my donut of choice. This tasted just like any other yeast donut I have had. This was nothing spectacular but the donut was still tasty. I tried a bite of the regular cake donut and it was a little dry. However, with the location, this is super close to my office. I might try to stop in sometime and see how their prices are.

Grab any spare change or dollar bills and head on over to Mustang Donuts! This neighborhood donut shop located right off of the SMU campus in Dallas offers some of the best donuts. I was able to walk there on a warm October day and order a variety of donuts. I saw the Red, White & Blue donut and knew I had to get that one. Beyond the fact that it was a total insta-worthy donut, I was so impressed by the flavor and texture. The icing was incredible - it tasted like the icing you put on a cake or cupcake. It was still warm and completely melted in my mouth! Prices are very reasonable, too. Just remember - it's cash only! Luckily, there's a Wells Fargo and Chase Bank nearby if you need to go to an ATM. Stop by Mustang Donuts and have a dough-lightful day ;)

Three words...HOT FRESH GLAZED. Yeah, they have the rest, but once you've had their perfect fresh from the grease, covered in sugary glaze, fried donuts you won't even care. Kenny started Mustang Donuts ages ago when he also started Ken's Donuts in Austin...seems they won't let you use Longhorn and Bevo hap-hazardly. He ran the shops while going to law school. Once a successful lawyer he hired managers to run the well loved neighborhood shops, and eventually sought out folks who would love them as much as he did, and sold them. Not much has changed from year to year, except the faces behind the counter. All the time and effort Kenny put into opening these donut shops, tasting the different brand so of batter etc, paid off. Dallas Observer ranks Mustang Donuts as the best donut in town. I've been going there since 1986. *kicks soap box to middle of room and climbs on top* And when Dunkin Freaking Donuts opens in the spot where 'the MAN' tossed Balls Burgers out of business, I will still be going to Mustang Donuts. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna find out the opening day and I say we ALL park in front of Dunkin and walk over to Mustang! Just a little bitter.

CASH ONLY!! Come early for the full selection of donuts!! Since I just made it in before closing, they were of course sold out of their blueberry cakes in addition to other donuts. At least there was no line at that time. I tried the Glazed Donut Hole ($0.35), Donut Hole w/Sprinkles ($0.35),and Glazed Old Fashioned ($1.20) [http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ln-DkDzYV6NbAj-UBnqaPQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg]. WOW, the donut holes with sprinkles were surprisingly really good. The sprinkles/frosting was a tad sweet, but the taste was otherwise amazing (and I don't usually like sprinkles). Highly recommended! The glazed donut hole was just ok, and I wouldn't get that again. The glazed old fashioned was solid, and recommended if that's the style donut you like. I love that they have 20 minute parking spots right out front, since it made it really easy to grab a spot and hop in and out. I will definitely be back to try their blueberry cake donuts and get more of those donut hole w/sprinkles!!

The people who work here are incredibly thick in the skull. We were the only people in the place and the woman taking our order couldn't get it right after about 5 minutes of her condescendingly asking us questions and looking at us like we were stupid. I'm giving it 2 stars because I was hungry and it was better than Krispy Kreme.

    Don't miss this sign.

A Must‑Try Donut Truck at Klyde Warren Park!…read more We stumbled upon this donut truck at Klyde Warren Park while in the area expecting a quick snack, and instead walked away having tried every single flavor they offered. Yes, every one -- and honestly, it was worth it! Each donut was fresh, and crafted with the kind of care you can actually taste. The flavors weren't just different; they were thoughtful, balanced, and surprisingly creative. One of the biggest highlights was the vegan Neapolitan donut. Vegan options can be hit or miss, but this one was so good we had to double‑check it was actually vegan. It had the same rich, indulgent flavor and perfect texture as the regular donuts -- no compromise, no "good for vegan," just good, period. It was one of those rare treats that makes you rethink what vegan baking can be. If you're anywhere near Klyde Warren Park, do yourself a favor and stop by this truck. It's the kind of place that turns a simple donut run into a memorable moment -- and we'd go back in a heartbeat. My kids have already asked a few times, ha!

Out of the 4 donuts I ordered, the Banoffee pie was hands down my favorite. The flavors and textures complimented each other perfectly, and it wasn't too sweet. The other donuts I ordered were decent, but I don't think I'd purchase them again. The classic donut was okay; it was a little too cakey/bready for my liking. Although I liked the flavors of the yuzu & matcha mini, because of the smaller size, the ratio of cream/curd to donut was overpowering. Lastly, again, i liked the flavors of the pistachio cannoli, but it was too sweet and the cream was dry. Overall, I'd still go again and I'd love to try the other flavors. I love the creativity!

Amazingly, we got to try them all and with all the salty, savory food we started to look for some dessert to balance out our palate. That's when we stumbled on a stand that advertised cake balls. Yup. CAKE BALLS. We were all pretty full, but still wanted to try them all. I mean, when you're presented with the choice of Snickers, Oreos, Butterfinger, Cinnamon and Sugar, [Fruity] Pebbles, or Cherry Glaze it's pretty hard to single out the best flavor. I ended up getting their 3 most popular ones: Snickers, Butterfinger and Pebbles. There's one thing that you need to know about these cake balls. They're not like any other you've tasted. Usually, cake balls are made from a mixture of cake batter with a lot of icing to keep it moist. Beckett's method is to use a donut hole as the base encased in a layer of their own special frosting with your choice of candy or cereal. It sounds simple and mundane, but I can assure you that these were some of the best cake balls I've ever had in my life. The donut base was pillowy and moist. With the super sweet frosting it melded perfectly into what seemed like a piece of heaven in every bite. The crushed candy was the icing on the cake, per say, adding different flavors and textures to each ball. I really can't explain it more than I have. It was just pure awesomeness. In an environment where pretty much everything is fried it was a welcome surprise to find a stand that served something different. I spoke with the owners and they said they were in the process of relocating their business from Tulsa, OK to Dallas. Their presence in the Big D will allow us to enjoy some of these awesome cake balls year round instead of having to wait until the State Fair runs each year. Happy dance. If you're looking for something different keep your eyes peeled for Beckett's. I'm sure you will enjoy their cake balls as much as I did.

The beignets were made fresh to order and took about 7 minutes to come out. They were hot, soft, and very fluffy, almost more similar to a donut than a traditional beignet. Since most of my beignet experience comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, I definitely had a different texture in mind going in. I personally wish they had been a little crispier, especially around the edges, but they were still decent and enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience.
