Rip off Beware I took my 65 Mustang there. It had valve noise. They found once cracked head and told me that they need to rebuild the heads. The total bill came to $6000 of which $3000 was for rebuilding the heads. After the repairs the car was always running hot and over heated and boiled over. I was taking the car back to them and developed another engine problem. They wanted to charge me another $6000. I declined and took the car to another shop. They took apart the engine and told me that these heads had not been rebuilt! All corroded and ugly only after 1000 miles! The valve guides were bad as well! Wow! read more

I've had a lot of work done here, and while they are expensive, I was OK with the premium because of their expertise with mustangs. However, I recently tried to return there for additional work, but it was nearly impossible to schedule the repair job. I called and left a message that was never returned. A week later I got through, but was told to call back Friday to schedule my car to be dropped off on Saturday. I called back Friday....5 times I called back.... and nobody answered the phone or called me back. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I can only speak for the parts department but with that said, these guys are great! Especially Garrett who is super helpful and always open to offer his expertise. Recently I came in looking for a dual sheave water pump pulley, as the single was misaligned and causing the belts to rub with my newly installed power steering setup. Well before I spent the money on a part that would NOT have fixed my issue, Garrett took a second to ask what the problem was and with his vast knowledge let me know I might have a 64.5 pulley and using a 65 would possibly fix it. He then gave me the correct pulley and said if it didn't work to bring it back and we'd figure it out. It worked great and the problem was solved. Great experience from a great shop. read more

R I P O F F After reading some good reviews I decided to take my car to mustangs etc. for some work. The guy I dealt with was named mike he was very nice and I thought Wow I have found my new mechanics, guess not. These guy's can't work on anything fuel injected do not let them touch a 5.0 mustang. I guess there only good at fixing the older mustangs. I was having idling issues they took my car for three day's and charged me $731.70 for installing two o2 sensors new T.P.S. sensor and for a so called "Diagnostic". Also they claimed the problem was my turn signal switch which they charged me $539 to fix. The day after I got my car home my idle issue returned, so i took my car back with a full tank of gas and they said they will check it out. A day later at like 4:30 mike calls me to pick up my car and tells me NO CHARGE, but they couldn't find the problem. When I pick my car up there was no gas and 25 miles on my odometer yeah no charge buddy (Joyride??Anybody??). The problem continued and when I called mustangs etc. mike was unavailable and they would never return my calls. In the end I found great mechanics that fixed my car needing no parts charged around $150 and my car runs great. So steer clear of Mike at mustangs etc. if you plan on keeping your car running! read more

They have access to authentic vintage parts as well so that you can get the true value out of your Mustang. Just go in the shop and check out they're counter inventory. It's impressive to say the very least. These guys ARE the california Mustang "in" crowd. They probably know Carroll himself. Not just highly recomended but absolutely necessary. read more

I'll say this...the parts department is amazing! It has every RARE part I needed and they are very nice! The mechanic side of the shop is a little shady. They're really nice guys from what I saw, but they quoted me some OUTRAGEOUS prices, and they told me I had a problem wrong with my engine that will ruin my engine if I keep driving it the way it is (I've been driving my car long and hard with no problems for 2 years)! I only use the parts department so I can't Speak to the service, but from what I use this place is great. I own a 1966 6 cylinder and 90% of the time the parts I need are in stock and cheep. If they don't have the parts I need I have never waited more than one day to get them. The customer service is good, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I really like this place. read more

I've had these guys work on 2 of my cars and have always been impressed by the expert knowledge in Mustangs and Fords in general. They repaired, modified and replaced almost every performance part, interior and did a full paint job on one of my award winning show cars and I remain very happy with the quality of work. The pricing is on par for the level of work I expected and got. They run a lean crew which means you don't always get someone on the phone the first time and if they have one or two clients ahead of you, you will definitely have to wait. Don't take your car here to get worked on! They will charge ridiculous rates, and really don't know what their doing, but you'll end up paying for it. I spent over $2,500 having this place try and diagnose and correct an overheating problem. Their solution was to install an ugly, giant, 5-core race radiator into my classic '66 mustang convertible. Eventually, through my own research, I discovered that I had the wrong size water pump pulley. Once I replaced it with a smaller one my car temps dropped dramatically. I have been coming for year and years and years to Mustangs Ect buying parts here and there and learning from Garett who has more knowledge on parts and where they go and what they do then anyone I have ever met and more then anything I have ever read. The guys at Mustang Ect have helped me with so much information and guidance as I did my ground up Resto mod. I ran into so many issues and sure enough they always answered my question or got me the part I needed. I brought my car in to have a final inspection of all the work to make sure it was all done correctly and something so simple turned into a big problem as the entire brake system was off. We started on the work and when I got the bill it was much more than I expected and didn't understand how it got so high, with more conversations with mike at service and a walk through I understood where it all came from, we had a disagreement and talked it out and got to a solution no problem. I am very happy with the work and so thankful for what Mustangs Ect did for me. They handled the entire situation with class and integrity. Thank you Mike for being such a Gentleman, thank you Garrett for always finding the part I need from a picture of someone's else's car I google and thanks Alan for all your help with everything. Well, I read the poor reviews, and I have to say, I have never had an ounce of issue with this company, and I have been taking the same car to them for almost 21 years. They rebuilt it to a high quality daily driver in '93 because that was what I could afford. They fixed things that I didn't even know were wrong. Over the years they have nursed the car through burnt valves, new upholstery, bad water pumps, new suspension, bad brakes, you name it. Recently the car was in a serious accident and now again I turn to the Horse Doctors at mustangs Etc. who guarantee me that the patient, my loved one, my first car, the car I have owned for 30 years that has outlasted 8 residences in two countries, four other cars, three cats, one marriage, and has seen my son born and grow up and go out on his own, will roam the streets again within a couple weeks, as good as new. read more

I been a customer of Mustangs, Etc. for at least fourteen years. My initial contact was to locate a classic 1966 coupe for a friend who purchased the car and remained a customer. Mustangs, Etc. took very good care of my friend. Based on that initial experience and my original research on the company, I decided to complete a major modification to my 1966, GT350 Tribute Mustang. I started by asking a lot of questions, getting their advice of what modifications, parts, etc. to use. I then verified the information I was given by two other knowledgeable parties, completely unknown to Mustangs, Etc. personnel.The result of the information requests confirmed that I was being given solid and well thought out advice from Mike, Garret, Steve, Gil, and Gilbert for the overall modification. Steve performed the engine build and installation, the wiring modifications in the engine compartment and front end, and then oversaw the finishing details of the mechanical modifications.His direct work has been admired and appreciated by some very astute observers, myself included. Gil performed the drive train rebuild and did a beautiful job mechanically and aesthetically as well. Regarding the body work, Gilbert and his assistant Max took the time and effort to do an outstanding job. They installed a roll bar and modified the interior trim to accommodate it with a perfect fit. It takes time and pride in your workmanship to get results like that and I was fortunate to be the beneficiary. As impressed as I am with that work, the work they did in the engine compartment is high-end show car quality. Again, the advise I received from Gilbert on what modifications to do and what not to do rang true and the results speak for themselves. I wanted to develop a Firewall Blanket for the engine compartment during the process, which required the company to make some significant accommodations for the intrusion of myself and two outside workers to develop a part mold from the firewall for several days. I know and realize that we were likely in the way, but Gilbert was very accommodating and pleasant to work with throughout the entire process. In fact, everyone at Mustangs, Etc. has and continues to be pleasant and easy to work with. I have no concerns with anyone there with regards to honesty or integrity. I have recommended numerous clients to them for work in their specialty. This is where I prefer to get my work done and that is based on the quality of work I have received and the manner in which it was executed and delivered. read more

What can I say about the parts department. I have a 66 Mustang and a 67 F100 Flareside that I am currently restoring. It is amazing how many parts that a Mustang place has for a F100 Truck. They not only have the parts but also some friendly and knowledgeable advice as well at a very reasonable rate. Given that they are in the Valley, they have saved me long trips to the places that carry truck parts. Simply amazing! read more

I must say that it bothers me a great deal to read vindictive reviews that simply are not accurate or complete in telling the whole story. I have been a customer for a long time and been the recipient of quality work at a very fair price. My Mustang has received adoration from enthusiasts that know what they are looking at. The biggest compliment is" This car is done right, with quality modifications and not over the top". Personally, I drive the car often and expect the car to be reliable, "bullet-proof". It is all of that and it is fast, corners, and brakes well. It is a treat to drive it! What all that means is, the advise I received and the work done at Mustangs, Etc. were well thought out and executed with uncompromising quality and workmanship. The result was timely and beyond my expectations. The actions and results were observed and witnessed by me personally on a regular basis during the restoration of my car. I was in the shop, on the phone with Mike, and even helping a bit myself, especially with the research during the restoration. I am a first hand witness to the care and responsibility executed by all of the employees there. If the negative reviews I read have any credence at all, they could not have happened here. It is not the way they work, day in and day out. So, the negative reviewers need to re-examine their intent, "man up" and get the story straight. Honesty is always the best policy! read more
