You can get a good feel for this place when you drive up. It's not a high-end kind of a place. But they do have a lot of years of experience with Corvettes. So if you have a Corvette-specific problem, they are likely to do a great job with fixing the issue. But if you are picky about small details, you might end up disappointed. And people have complained about the owner's attitude. But that's just his personality. He is just a straight-shooter, and doesn't pull any punches. If you can't handle some "personality", you might want to try elsewhere. But I generally like the owner. The main reason for my review, is to tell people to be cautious when having this shop do any high-end kind of work. Like doing things on a newer Corvette, EFI tuning, or building a new engine, or transmission. He will say he knows everything about these kind of jobs. But he offers no guarantees or warantees on big jobs, and I have had several projects blow up, then pay to redo the job, then it blows up again. So unless you have endless money, I'd avoid using them for big jobs like these. read more

Fantastic service, honest, to the point, and efficient. I came in with my Corvette for an oil change and filter clean. I asked about a new weatherstripping kit as mine was loose and I thought it needed replacing. I honestly didn't know. I was told I didn't need new but just new glue. This says a lot as they could have charged me for a new kit. Honesty is hard to come by in auto shops these days. I will come back here again and HIGHLY recommend anyone with a Corvette to come in for maintenance that you can't do on your own or for any repairs you need an expert to do. I have a 2000 c5 Corvette, I took my car to the Corvette shop to replace my harmonic balancer pulley, I called the shop and the owner John answered and I told him I needed the pulley replaced, he quoted me $850 and told me I can bring in the car the next day at 9am he opens at 830 am but he said it will be better to come after 9am, the next day I arrived at 1030 am John wasn't there but a very nice mechanic helped me and did all the paper work but called John on the phone for the price I asked for a cash payment discount so he took off $50 from the $850 wow Iam rich now LOL, I also asked the mechanic to check for a small oil leak and he agreed, I work mostly on my own cars and I am very Knowledgeable about auto repair, the only work on my cars I don't do is repairs that require special tools and or equipment that I don't have. The next morning John call me and told me the car was done, thats one thing they are fast; too fast because first of all they never checked for that oil leak, second my stabilizer bar links were very worn out and instead of letting me know they just put them back on the car now my car rattles when I hit a bump so today I replaced all 4 front and back myself, and third my steering was off centered towards the left so I called John to complain and he told me the car was aligned that its ok, that's bull any good mechanic knows that the steering wheel must be straight he thinks I don't know but I do, now I have to take my Vette to the dealer and get a wheel aligment its only $70 anyway but remember I paid him $800 cash. When replacing the Harmonic Balancer in a C5 or C6 Corvette there are curtain things that's required; a) tie the steering so it won't move, b) remove the rack, c) remove stabilizer bar, d) replace the front seal, e) replace both belts, f) install new pulley, g) check power steering fluid. After replacing all the parts car MUST get a wheel aliment. Now for John, he is very short and to the point don"t try small talk he is all business and acts like he is always too busy, the mechanics I met were very cool and friendly. In closing I don't know if I recommend this shop but I'll tell you this, if you need your car done quick and don't want to worry about a dishonest mechanic trying to find fake problems with your car so they can over charge you like Jiffy lube dose, the Corvette shop will do. Had our 02 C5 taken in and serviced, called ahead and made sure he was able to take the car in. No problem car dropped off, found the problem along with some other items and the car was ready the next morning. AC compressor replaced, Transmission line leaking, was topped off after fixing. Water pump leaking and thermostat housing corroded both replaced. We'll be back. We were referred to bring our corvette and other cars here by a close friend who has been coming to the shop for years. This is my second time here - the first being 7 years ago. Having not been in 7 years, the owner remembered who I was and what car I drove. That in itself is customer service. You pay attention to who you help and make an effort to remember details about them, not just one and done. Both times coming I brought a Dodge. First was a Nitro now a Challenger. They don't care. Regardless of what you're driving they will take your car, hoist her up, and get you out as quickly as they can. Fair price, good good work, good customer service. The owner is not short like other reviews have said. Hes busy so he'll answer your questions hastily if he's in the middle of something. But they're answered honestly and completely. A couple of years back I called them and the owner was rude. This time I thought I'll try them again - I called for a simple oil change for my 2007 Corvette and they said they were busy and to come the next day anytime and they'll do it. Called before going and they don't pick up (happens often). So I went there and they flatly said they're too busy, try tomorrow!! Si I got the oil change at Jiffy Lube and it wasn't a problem. My C6 2006 has been out of warranty for a few years. The first 'BIG' repair came up with a check engine light. Finding out what it was, what a 'dealer' would charge - I started the hunt for a shop that had the experience with this, along with being fair in pricing. Simply Put John Martello owner of the Corvette Shop is fantastic. He understands the car - what it takes - get's it done. Professional and treated me accordingly. Be patient. Know what you want. Ask what you don't know. It's a working shop - he doesn't waste time. I took the opportunity to also fix a number of small items including some body work. Everything excellent. This is a solid 30 miles from my home - every mile worth it. Make sure you call first. The shop is small, parking limited, and he will let you know when you can bring it in. A great find. I bought a pretty shitty c4(previous owner drove it into the ground but I couldn't resist it's perfect red interior and a sweet deal) and john brought it back to life! I should have never taken my Corvette to this shop. As far as I can tell, even after I paid the Corvette Shop approximately six thousand dollars in general repairs and modifications (I still have the documents) they could not find out why my C5 Corvette was still having engine cooling issues. The Corvette Shop doesn't seem to be able to handle the more modern cars that require advanced electrical and computer diagnostics. The engine cooling issues on my Corvette were literally out of control and they could not tell me the cause of the malfunction. Eventually, I found a different mechanic shop in North Hollywood. The other mechanic shop was able to determine that the Corvette Shop had installed a defective fan in my car. The mechanical issue was eventually fixed, but I had to spend a lot of additional money to have other mechanics figure out the repairs. The following are some other negative things about the Corvette Shop: The owner did not add up my repair price correctly and the owner had to ask another person (on the phone) about what performance air intake he should use for my Corvette. Further, the Corvette Shop could not tell me the brand of the air intake they put in my car (he charged me $1000.00 the air intake?????). I don't want people to be spending money unnecessarily like I did. read more

I have been looking for a good Corvette tech to work on my 1996 CE LT4 for the past two years that I have owned it. I found one shop in the past that was ok, the rest F'ed up the car one way or another. My friend Andy recommended John and the Corvette Shop to me awhile back. Andy takes his 1982 Vette to John. All that I can say is that, I wish that I gave them a shot ages ago. They fixed the starter that crapped out and it looks like they did a nice clean job. I am also a mechanic by trade and worked on motorcycles, prior to going into real estate and can say that I was impressed that the car was also returned clean, nothing was damaged and they made a list of other things that they noticed that should be addressed. I forget the techs name but was impressed with his knowledge and respect for the car. I plan to ask that he work on the car the next time.
