Frank and his son make the wheels turn. They worked on my 1965 C-20 for three major modification and hit the ball out of the park.

I adopted a 67 chevy truck that was dying on me on the freeway, in intersections, and while turning. I knew I'd be dead soon if I didn't get it fixed. Frank rebuilt the carburetor, gave her a general tuneup, and did everything necessary to keep me alive. Months later, the truck starts immediately, without the need to fiddle with the choke or gas, and runs with absolutely no problems. I'll be taking the truck back as soon as I have the money to get new disc brakes. Once again, to keep me alive.

No one touches my '69 Mach 1 but Frank and his team! They've added AC, custom serpentine belt and kit, full engine overhaul, new carb, 5spd transmission, custom sound and so much more. All perfectly installed.

Amateur Hour Welding on a bolt on part. Looks like a Tweaker did it in the 70's. No permission granted to do so either.

Extremely disappointed in you Frank honestly you should be ashamed of yourself and your business. I brought my classic truck over to Frank because it was pulling really hard to the right when I was braking although the brakes were working fine. Long story short a few bolts were missing in my subframe causing a "bolt in" bracket to move and flex. Instead of just replacing nuts and bolts and snugging it down Frank decided to weld the bolt in bracket to my classic truck's frame without asking. He called to tell me how much it would cost and said around $500 dollars to get me sorted, the next day I go to pick up my truck and his son tell me my bills $1,000. I look at the computer invoice and there is nothing listed on the work order it says "oil change filter" so I go to his main mechanic and I ask him to show me what he did and turns out Frank decided to weld the bracket. Not only do the welds look like a 3 year old did it but it major amateur hours work. Cold welds looks like a tweaker did them. This is now way more work to back track than I needed to begin with. You cannot just decide to do what you think it right without asking my permission. You'll be seeing a letter shortly from small claims court. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PRICK. An attitude and you weld like trash? Who do you think you are.

Don't know his work but only talking to him for 5 minutes let's you know the type of "classic car mechanic" he is... rude to the fullest!

If you take your car here and they notice something else wrong they'll call you first before doing anything and get approval, if you don't want to do it I felt no pressure from them and they just added it to recommended repairs. They also topped off my wiper fluid... well more like filled it because I had completely ran out, at no charge to me. 10/10 best experience I've ever had at a shop.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Japanese Auto Center…read more My check-engine light suddenly came on while I was driving to work, and my car stalled on the road. I stopped at the nearest place for help and was referred to Japanese Auto Center. When I arrived, Kenny told me to leave the car for about two hours and said it should be ready. At around 4:30 PM, I was told they needed to keep my car overnight because a part had not arrived and that I could pick it up at noon the next day. I explained that I had to work early and asked if I could pick it up at 8 or 9 AM instead. The next morning, Mathew called and told me my car was ready. Kenny was not there, and I was charged $665, which was more than the amount I had been quoted over the phone. When I asked to speak with Kenny, I was told he was at the hospital visiting his wife and would not be back until around noon. I had no choice but to pay and take my car because I needed it for work. Kenny later told me he would credit me a few dollars on my next visit. I also noticed that the mileage had increased by nearly 60 miles while my car was left overnight. I was never given an explanation for this, which was very concerning. The repair included replacing four spark plugs, the mass air flow sensor, and the air filter--even though I had replaced the air filter only a few months earlier. These repairs also did not seem to correspond with what the scanner had originally indicated. Most importantly, exactly one week later, my check-engine light came back on. At that point, I no longer felt confident returning to this shop to have the problem addressed again. Overall, I felt the service was poorly communicated, unnecessarily expensive, and lacking transparency. I paid $665 and still had the same problem one week later. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to Japanese Auto Center and cannot recommend this shop.

I had two nails in my run-flat tires, and the dealer told me that even they couldn't repair them. I brought my car here, and they were able to fix both tires and rotate them for me. They saved me from having to unnecessarily replace two expensive run-flat tires and once again went above and beyond. But what really made this experience stand out was Al, the manager. I can't say enough good things about him. Al didn't just provide great customer service--he genuinely made me feel taken care of. He listened, explained everything, made sure the job was done right, and treated me like a valued customer rather than just another car coming through the shop. That kind of personal care and integrity means a lot to me, and it's one of the main reasons I trust this place. I've been here before, and experiences like this are why I'll continue coming back. Great work is important, but having someone like Al who you feel is genuinely looking out for you is priceless. Thank you, Al and team, for taking such good care of me. You've earned a loyal customer!
