It's an eclectic cafe inside a comic book store behind an unassuming storefront. This new location opened 3 months ago. They were priced out of their old location. The owner and patrons are very friendly. There's a good variety of drinks and food. The establishment has a nostalgic smell of old books that I love.

This coffee was honestly so good. And the staff member was very kind. The place definitely looks more exciting on Yelp though. Although there are some cool elements featured like there cool cereal boxes at the top & a chess table. The book portion though, which I was the most excited about, was rather dusty & not so much a book shop as a collection of genres that seemed to fit the owners personal library. I'm glad I checked this place out & definitely recommend it for the coffee itself.

Not your typical used book, vinyl, poster, magazine, comic book, or coffee shop, Mutiny is certainly a very unique place with all of the above (and none of the above), depending upon what you were hoping to find. More of an institution than anything else, it's the perfect place to find something you didn't know you needed but we're glad to discover it nonetheless. Go without expectations and you'll be rewarded by all the surprises you will discover at Mutiny.

Punk and rock n' roll heaven, plus a cool coffee shop. If you're in the area and like old school, not run of the mill stuff, stop in.

The overall vibe here is very positive and uplifting, to say the least. Every time I go into a metaphysical or book store, I just wander around to see if anything calls to me. When you walk in, it's full of gorgeous decor and plenty of plants, true to their namesake. There is a lot of places for people to come in and take photos, read, buy books, and enjoy the atmosphere. In the lobby, there is complementary sparkling waters, which I thought was really great as I took my time shifting through the different books. The selection was pretty good. There were a lot of books that were "hot" right now on social media, as well as ones that were hidden gems that you may not have heard of. The price was equal to what you'd pay at a big book store chairs (so why not support local!). They also have a selection of used books that are greatly discounted. The person that was working when I went in, was very kind and gave us some recommendations, and also talk to us about our day. I found out that they host quite a bit of community writing events as well, which was so cool to learn!

The owner herself, Miss Risa was taking care of creating this unique culinary experience. The first service we chose a peach oolong. This was served with a green salad and broccoli quiche. Wonderful! I cannot tell you what the salad was dressed with, but the flavors!!!! The quiche was absolutely perfect from crust to cheesy top. Second service was Yellow submarine. This refreshing chamomile was infused with dried pineapple and mango. The first cup was good, but the second was delightful. The fruit had time to meld with the chamomile and created an epic infusion. The third service was a Moroccan mint. This was just as wonderful as you would expect. We were served an open face curry egg salad and a homemade fermented cucumber on a seasoned cream cheese. The flavors were wonderful. The sweet serving was a blueberry scone with Lemmon curd, apple cake and macrons. Service was top notch, the owner came over to chat with us. We even had a chance to spend time with one of the guides from the local Black History Museum. This was a delightful end to our amazing day! Thank you for the hospitality

What a cute tea house!…read more We accidentally stumbled across this place as we were heading north of downtown, looking for a place to satisfy our thirst from being in the summer sun, our throats parched from walking 16th mall and strolling in museums. As we came in we were greeted right away and sat at the table by the window where there sat many cool antique teapots. We were instantly wrapped by the coziness and ordered a pot of the Ginger Peach Rooibos. As we waited for the freshly craft to brew, we bopped and grooved to the beats of soulful R&B vibing the space. So chill, so peaceful, so relaxing. When we got our pot of tea, we got a little stand with a candle that kept the pot warm allowing us to take our time sipping on tea. We opt for honey with our tea which went really well with the ginger peach tea. It was so good, we ordered a cold version to go. Lovely place with lovely tea!

I was followed around by three different employees constantly asking me if I needed help and staring me down. Even if I look at the situation differently they don't even allow people the space, freedom or even privacy to choose what they need themselves or the chance to ask for help if they need it. Instead they all hound you down like you're in a clothing department store and make you feel uncomfortable. Especially the guy working there with the gray/white hair was orchestrating all of the employees around. Another reviewer mentioned this and yes there is a strong atmosphere of intolerance, paranoia, judgement and deeper under lining issues. I was standing in line behind a gentleman and when it was my turn at the counter, the guy with the gray/white hair told the lady working the counter to leave the counter and told another lady to come check me out which was odd and he had a very nasty look on his face. Then the lady at the counter asked me if I had a membership and I said no, She then says "ok don't worry we are not pushy" and then proceeds to laugh and say "at least I don't think so". They know exactly what they are doing. If a spiritual store is worried about people stealing or whatever then they you are NOT the real deal and it is a reflection of who they are and what they are actually doing. If you are alarmed or uncomfortable by a women of color coming into your shop while your shop is named Goddess/Isis you should NOT be in business! This place is not sacred or safe. Buy your stuff online or go to a place with integrity, a place that has respect and honors spirituality and people, all people. Avoid this place and do not support this business.
