Everything was tender/fall off the bone. Also got the sweet potato casserole which was piping hot and absolutely delicous as well as the beans which was also good. I like the spicy yellow sauce more than the regular. Tea $2.25: I mix the unsweet and sweat for 50/50 and it's yuummy. My parents liked it so much they wanted to order more. It was okay for me. I've drive by the place 100 times but finally decided to try it. I love bbq and sweet potato casserole. The service was mild with welcoming but the speed was too notch. For me the portions and prices were good but the lack of flavor is what got me. The Mac was dry as well as the sweet potato. I also wish they toasted the bread. The area on the tables had flies which happens but it was sticky no matter where I touched. It always seems to be busy and I would love to try this again but sit outside when it's warm. Called back, spoke with Jackie, the catering person. She will have Tiger call me. Waited a month. No call. Made 2 more calls to Henry's. I was told a check would be mailed to my address by Tiger. Today is July 4th. No calls, no check. Spoke with someone named Mary. I give up. I'll eat the $9.00...no biggie. But I won't order from Henry's again. We fired up our trusty Yelp app looking for a place that was well rated and open on Sundays that also could cater. We found Henry's and are so glad we did! We ordered pulled pork, bbq chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw, Mac and cheese. This came complimentary with buns, sweet and unsweet tea, and all the paper and plastic ware we needed for serving and eating. This made everything very convenient for us and our guests at the party and the price was excellent. The food was awesome! I was very happy with everything, the pork had gotten a little dry in spots will staying warm, but the sauce made it just right. All the sides were on point! I was lucky enough to be tasked with finding food for 20+ people for my dad's birthday celebration. On a Sunday. Near Taylors, SC. Being from Greensboro, NC, I was pretty worried I wouldn't find anything open or available on relatively short notice. I was thrilled at how responsive and helpful the catering coordinators Zoey and Drea were! They responded almost immediately to my email request, promptly provided a quote, and answered all my questions. We arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled pick-up, but they had everything packed and ready to load into my car, including paper/plasticware, plates, cups, serving utensils, lemons, teas. It made this whole experience so much easier and care-free. The food was excellent and perfectly priced! The baked chicken was so tender and sat in a delicious sauce. I pulled into the almost-full parking lot and found a shady spot in back, where I noticed the pile of hickory wood next to a well worn screen door, which for the moment was manned by an employee on a smoke break. The smoke I was interested in was there too, trickling from the brick chimney which vented their open pit. Walking inside, I encountered groups of families and workers on lunch break filling most of the thickly varnished wood tables. When it was my turn at the register, I placed my order for a chopped pork plate, to be accompanied with sides of potato salad and sweet potato casserole, which I had seen a couple reviewers rave about. The metal tray containing my food was promptly produced, nearly before I had time to locate a seat. It was heaped with a gorgeous pile of pork, more what I would call pulled than chopped, but whatever you called it it looked amazing. Which it was. Hitting the right notes for moistness, seasoning and just enough hickory smoke to taste but definitely not overdone, it hit the spot. They say they smoke their butts for 12+ hours and remove the fat for the "leanest butts in town"- and I found nothing to argue with there. Personally I like the smoke to jump out at me a bit more, but hickory is a mellow wood anyway and they've obviously found a recipe that has kept folks coming back for years. Two sauces were on my table: a red labeled mild and an obviously mustard sauce labeled spicy. The red one was a good tomato/vinegar and black pepper combo that was a great finishing touch for their pork. The spicy sauce was my favorite though. It was a thinner mustard with big flavor that really spiced things up. The sides came in large plastic bowls. Though I had read some conversation about higher prices due to sourcing issues, I felt like I got a large amount of food for the price. I loved the potato salad. It was slightly mustardy, definitely homemade but without too many added ingredients- just what I think of when I imagine the perfect potato salad. The sweet potato casserole was good, but more starchy than I am used to. (Not sure why I chose two potato sides...) Washed down with a jumbo cup of the kind of sweet tea that you don't want to know how much sugar it contains, the whole meal went down easily. I left to continue my journey, feeling pleased to have found a satisfying meal, and energized for the afternoon which was to include several miles of rocky hiking. read more

I ordered a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving and was instructed to pick it up at the Wade Hampton location and i wasn't given the option to pay nor a order #. Upon arrival, I was informed that my order needed to be picked up from a secondary location, which was 7 miles away in a poorly maintained warehouse in a, let's say, less desirable area of town. When I arrived at the new location, there was a line of cars stretching approximately 0.4 miles, requiring a two-hour wait before I could even speak to an employee. I was then told I needed to find parking and join another line of 40 something people to pay. Once in this line, the payment process was delayed further due to an outdated 15-year-old computer system crashing down. Despite offering alternative payment methods (online, cash, etc.), none were accepted. This resulted in an additional 1.5 hours of waiting. How hard is it to accept venmo, paypal, etc or why didn't they just sumply accept payments when I first made my order? When I finally reached the register, I was asked for my order number, but after another extended wait, I was informed that my turkey could not be found in warehouse. At this point, I wondered--if 900 smoked turkeys were prepared, why couldn't they simply give me any of them? While the turkey itself was decent, it certainly wasn't worth the significant hassle and wait time. Employees were unprofessional, didn't show an iota of sympathy during the whole ordeal. Hard to fathom how a business can stay in business with such detrimental practices and lack of planning. read more

I would recommend the spicy sauce if you enjoy the tangy taste with you pork but if not, the regular BBQ suave is a sweet addition that compliments the meeting. The vanilla banana pudding is the dessert to tie it up with its flavor soothing the throat after the BBQ. Only problem is the restrooms are small and allow one at a time. I bought Easter dinner for 10-12 people at Henry's Smokehouse. I ordered a smoked ham. I also ordered one and a half pounds each of macaroni, banana pudding and sweet potato casserole. I sent Henry's several messages through Facebook messenger with lots of questions about the food and ordering process. They were very helpful and answered all of my questions quickly. I placed the order through messenger. I picked up my order on the Saturday before Easter. . They are not doing dine-in service at this time. They have a few picnic tables outside of the restaurant. They do curbside ordering and curbside delivery. It does take a little more time than normal...but just go there knowing that....and have a little patience with the workers. When I was there waiting to pick up our order I witnessed a customer yelling at one of the workers because their food was taking too long. The employee handled it professionally. Some people think it's THEIR world and the rest of us just live in it to serve them. We all need to be kinder to each other. Anyway.... I paid for the order on the day I picked up the food. The process went smooth. They brought all of the food to my car. Now on to the a review of the tasty food! The smoked ham was spiral sliced and ready to eat if you like it cold. It came with heating instructions which were easy to follow. It was a really delicious tasting ham and we all enjoyed it. It was not too salty or fatty. The macaroni was pretty standard. It was good but not the homemade "macaroni pie" style. It was more like a jazzed up velveeta macaroni and cheese. I'm not complaining though because we liked it and ate all of it. The sweet potato crunch was really great. It had just the right amount of sweetness. It was topped with pecans. It had a real brown sugar and cinnamon taste. It really was a wonderful comfort food. Their banana pudding is one of my favorite desserts ever. It is so creamy and light. I'm pretty sure it's mixed with whipped cream. It tastes so good with the Nila wafers.
