The price online is not the actual price because every vehicle has already been fitted with $4000 worth of "dealer upgrades" so when you go in hoping to negotiate down they start negotiations by increasing the starting price. In my case they started with a car listed for $40k, I offered $32,500 plus my trade in valued at $8000. The new guy I was working with (Joseph) was determined to waste my time practicing his script on how the price was actually $44000 because those little plastic stickers they put on the edges of the doors and under the handles to prevent dings are an added upgrade worth $900!!!!! The sales team was so dodgy that Joseph went into the office to discuss my offer with the manager and instead of even coming back out they HID IN THE OFFICE like children and called another salesman behind us to come over and say the price was $48000!!!! I was baffled how they kept increasing the price thinking this was negotiating. We left while the manager and Joseph hid in the office. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!! This company is a bunch of scammers. I would not recommend this company to anybody at all. They still haven't fulfilled the dues of my contract and I been calling and chasing after them for months. They been ducking and dodging me for MONTHS and been lying to me to be since I before I signed my contract. They sold me a car that priced one way on the internet and priced differently in my contract. Nobody made communication with me until after I signed the contract. The car the sold me died twice before I drove it off the lot and then once again after they replaced the battery. They claim it had new tires and one of them popped. Updated review: I actually did speak to the manager Paul. He was extremely rude, condescending and would not listen to my concerns. He laughed and said it was "funny" that I didn't think that I got a good deal. Thanks to the lack of satisfactory customer service and the way that he spoke to me, I gladly returned the vehicle. So I recently went in to MVP to view a car that they had listed on CarGuru's. BTW the car was listed for a hair under 6K, which was as C.G.'s goes a "good deal", around 1K less than the going rate. Got there and a really nice salesperson showed me the car, test drove it, and OK. I really was motivated, and really 6K for that car would be just fine. I offered 5500$ and said please take that up (presumably to the manager's for consideration) figuring that was my starting point, and the salesperson mentioned 3 dealer installed "options". Approximately $2500 worth of, $500 for wheel locks and nitrogen, $1000 for exterior and interior surface protection, and $1000 for a anti theft device. I mentioned that I wasn't really interested in those, wheel locks on the Toyota/Scion website are around $50, nitrogen, I don't know but say $100? The anti theft device, well maybe, but I would have insurance and added 20% more to the cost of the car...well? And than the surface treatment(s). Maybe on a new car that has pristine paint and interior, but this car was a 2014, kinda..well... used. I had already visualized the interior cleaning I would need to do (no problem, it's a used car!!) because it was little "under-detailed". The exterior was gonna need some serious plastic trim re-hab, you know it's a used car. So why put a treatment over oxidized plastic. Again, no problem. So, the salesperson take's up the offer, on a very slow Wednesday and about 45 or minutes later the finance person comes out. OK, he insist's that the 3 "option's" stayed, they were of good value,(maybe) and that the original C.G. ad mentioned the price + "any dealer added option's", (maybe it did, but even after looking at it later I didn't see it mentioned). So I passed, it was OK, I said, I saw the very good price and while, in my experience a car price goes down, it usually never increase's from it's listed price to close to 40% more. The finance person did what I expected and tried to get a deal, but at no time was there any reduction of the "option's". Drove home, but figured they would reach out, dealer's usually do, and they did. The next day a different salesperson called me to see if there were any car's on their lot I was interested in, and I mentioned the car I had tried to deal on the previous day. Eventually he put me on hold and the sales-manager (who was off the previous day) got on the line to tell me, that those option's could not be removed as they were already on the car (really? better terminate your detailer than!!) and not only that, the car was sold to somebody from Arizona.........Really!?!? From the recent spate of poor YELP's piling up on this location I'm guessing my experience was typical, and maybe they are just going through some struggle's. Well was able to drive off with a car but a week later get a letter stating that the agreement was canceled because they could find a lender. How is that possible. I don't even know where to start. I'm going to advise that you MUST beware and proceed with caution. Not everything they say is true, I learned the hard way. I've never had a dealership try to screw me over as much as this one. For starters, I went Looking for a vehicle I had seen online. This used vehicle had some things that needed fixed. Long story short it's 10pm by the time I know it, and they state they will offer me free insurance that can cover everything that is damaged on the car. On top of that they will discount the amount of the car. Sounds too good to be true right? After reviewing numbers they indeed were offering me this insurance worth 3k, but I was paying an extra 3k for it!!!!!! IT WAS NOT FREE AND THEY TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS!?! Do not use this business! My son got a quote before we went to the dealer. He wanted it to be easy. It was anything but! During the test drive the dealer turned the music up even as my husband was asking about a loud noise in the back. As we were trying to finalize the deal, they added $6000 for dealer upgrades. I asked if they added the upgrades to the car since we agreed on a price two hours earlier. The dealer (manager) literally turned his chair away from me to speak only to my son! And then refused to answer the question saying he would lose money if he sold it to us for the cost he quoted us! Ultimately, it was a complete waste of a day! We drove from 90 miles from San Diego to see a car - calling 3 separate times during our drive to ask questions. One of the times the sales MANAGER answered the phone, he knew we were coming to see this one specific car and that we would be there in about 30 minutes- he told us to as for him specifically. Get there, and we are told that they are part of 9 lots and the car we want to see is at another lot .. 20 miles away and they can go get it. We wait almost an hour for that car to be brought over, meanwhile discussing numbers. They don't budge on prices AT ALL, instead repeatedly reiterating how much they've already lost out on the price THEY have chosen to list the car .. like they were doing me a favor. I wanted to walk for that reason alone as it was a bit over our budget but the husband insisted, so we test drive it at 8:30pm we start the buying process. Since it was so late and car couldn't be cleaned they offer to deliver the cleaned car to us the next morning - fine. We leave the dealership at 11:00pm.. the financing process was quick but WAITING for the finance guy was torturous as we had to walk to the dealership next door and were now in line with 2-3 other people also needing to go thru financing paperwork. Car is delivered the next day and NOT CLEANED. Like not even attempted to wipe it down. Crumbs and sand were easily visible, outside was not washed. I message our salesman (Anthony) with feedback as of course at this point I'm not going to drive 180 miles round trip to get my car cleaned, and NO REPLY. Nothing. I guess why bother at this point that they have washed their hands of the car. First day driving it to work hubby notices the car has an alignment issue and pulls slightly to the right .. so now we are in for alignment work too, for a car sold "as is" by a dealership that not only could care less about their customer service but also the condition of the cars they inspect prior to selling. I do not recommend coming to this dealership because of the horrible experience I had with their customer service. Everything was fine during my process of financing the car through MVP Cars. I went to Moss Bros to fill out the paperwork, and a month later I received a call from Chris saying the contract would have to be rewritten and that I had to make a appointment with Moss Bros. I called Moss Bros but no one would answer and I would be transferred for 30 minutes. I finally got a hold of Josh where he told me the loan had expired and he would try to get a new one so I needed to hold on to the car for now. The next day I received another call from the assistant manager Chris, at MVP Cars he immediately began to blame me saying I don't understand how to follow simple directions and that there was a problem with me. I tried to calm him down and told him what Josh had told me but he continued to be rude and very disrespectful. I got another call from MVP Cars where the manager Perez was also disrespectful, he began telling me he would canceling the contract and I must return the car. When I took the car back I went to the office and was stop by a worker who told me I was not allowed inside and he could only take a message. Eventually, Chris rudely came outside and attempted to snatch the keys from me, when I was only trying to understand what had happened with the contract. I got a vehicle from here yesterday. 1 the car had been used to pick up lunch cause there was a post it left on the cup holder with everyones order on it, not to mention no gas at all it was below empty 2 the car had crumbs all over as if they didn't care about cleanliness. 3 when I left the property they said "they don't give out paper plates anymore" which I'm sure was a lie. I drove the car out with 2016 stickers!! I have a license and temp registration on the windshield but I'm 100% sure if the car is on the street I will get a ticket, it could get impounded, and I'm sure I'm getting pulled over. I asked the guy/sales rep whatever he was I told him I need paper plates, he said no we don't give them out. All in all never will come or recommend anyone to even get close to this dealership. Before I went to MVP, I checked reviews. A lot of people complained about the time it takes paperwork to get done. Paperwork takes forever no matter what dealership you go to. There's never more than 1 finance guy to every 5 salespeople. And with MVP you get what you pay for. The reason they can offer cars at such good prices is because they cut costs. So yes, you will wait a long time, there's no TV to watch, and they won't offer you a bottle of water or an iPad, but it'll be worth it for the savings. These are the same used cars listed on the nearby Moss Bros lots, but sold at wholesale price, so that's pretty cool. You may be able to haggle Moss brothers to sell you the car from their lot and haggle down to MVP prices, but I doubt it would work. IMPORTANT THING I LEARNED ABOUT WARRANTIES: If you buy a _ year warranty, it starts on the original purchase date. So if your buying a 6 year warranty on a 2010, it will expire 2016 (not 2019). This is true everywhere, but somehow I didn't know this. My only real negative - when I went to leave with my car, they only gave me 1 key. Shouldn't it be a requirement to give someone 2 keys?! Apparently the previous owner only gave them 1. Not cool previous owners! I'm a little weirded out that some stranger has the keys to my new car. And because it's a super fancy Toyota key, it will cost around $200 to get a copy. @MVP If you give me another key, I will give you another star... throw in a carwash and I'll make it 2. The WORST company ever to deal with YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I buy 2 to 3 cars remotely every year between my business and personal. I contacted them about a car advertised for $28,997 on their website and at the lot. I told them I would pay the full asking price. They emailed over the price quote showing the agreed price. I was paying cash and asked them to start the paperwork. I then received the actual contract showing a price over $3000 more for the vehicle. I was told it had dealer installed option (tracking GPS, an alarm, special paint and fabric protection - the typical scam type dealer grossly marked up options). I told them I was not interested in those and would like the car they advertised and sent me a price on without those. They said the options were already installed and could not be removed... I then asked the obvious question... if they were already installed and the car is being sold with those already installed why does the advertised price not reflect that? Their answer was that every dealer does this. I told them this is bait and switch and that if they already know the pricing for the options and that they are already installed on the car and cannot be removed this was "snake oil sales" on steroids. Their response again was that everybody does this. I then contacted several local dealers and verified that they do not do business this way. I then reached out to the owner via the website on the "talk to Glen Moss" link to try and discuss the situation business owner to business owner. As you can surely guess I received "crickets" back as a response. I purposefully have waited 10 days to allow ample time to respond before writing this review. To other customers...If this has happened to you - write a review to warn other customers so they do not get scammed by these people. I will also be filing a report with the BBB about this. I worked with Steve Hernandez and Bill Lunsford and they were amazing. We did everything over the phone as I lived almost 2 hours away. Found a car we liked online. For over two weeks they gave us every excuse in the book. Told them did not want to have to drive three hours for a "bait and switch". Kept telling us to come down and test drive, then the car had to still be paid off, then it had to be "serviced". That the car was definatly ours and then we waited. For the life of me, I do not understand how this dealership can sell cars. After inquiring about an advertised "Coming soon" vehicle, I was told by Melissa that although the Truck has yet to go thru safety inspection I could still see it, and "If the numbers worked out, the Truck could be pushed to the front and ready for sale". After driving 2.5 hrs from San Diego to see the Truck and meeting with Melissa and her manager, I informed them that I was ready to buy something and was Pre-Approved already thru NFCU. The next day I tried to contact Melissa over the phone to make an offer on the Truck and was told that she was off that day, I followed up with an Email that included my reasonable offer in line with all the other advertised discounts they have with similar Trucks on their website. I never received any phone calls or emails from anyone After several attempts to contact Melissa and/or her manager. Days later I finally got a hold of Melissa on the phone only to be told that they could not do anything until the truck was done with inspection. I then reminded her that this is NOT what she had said to me days earlier and that it was also said by another person that yes they do often advertise vehicles not yet ready to be sold, but can be expedited quickly if someone was interested. At this point she said that she would have her manager call ma back, which of course, Never happened. The truck was advertised with a price of $35,000 BEFORE they even inspected it, and my offer of $32,500 + fees was reasonable, and yet not one person even tried to sell a truck to a customer already qualified...WTH? The funny thing is, I would have paid Full asking price for the Truck, because it was a fully loaded Diesel 4x4 that fit my exact needs. The response from K Rogers is absolutely false. We had agreed to take delivery here in Calif, and to pay the difference of a few hundred dollars difference in cost for Calif. taxes and fees. The dealer did not comment on the $$995.00 add on for vehicle recovery system that we did not want and that they refused to remove. We were ready to take delivery if they removed this pack but they refused. I have a picture of the auto work up completed that evening that includes this $995.00 pack and numbers to prove our complaint.
